Mancala Monk is Hamilton’s new Board Game Café! We have over 1000 different board games that you can play while enjoying a large space, friendly atmosphere, delicious food & drinks and a free parking lot. We try to keep our food fun and board game friendly, so lots of finger foods, snacks, Paninis and exciting drinks like Cream Soda Floats and Nutella Lattes. We are a fantastic destination for First Dates (or second, or nine hundredth), birthday parties, corporate gatherings, play groups, or just a night out with a friend. Our Espresso machine is always on and kitchen is always open so stop by for great coffee (local, fair trade, organic) and a baked good (baked in house) too!

We just opened in 2015. We are «the new guys» but we are hoping to be around for a long, LONG time. We LOVE board games and coffee and hanging out with friends and we think Hamilton does too!

My wife and I started Mancala Monk for a million reasons. Loving Board Games and Coffee were two of the better ones (haw haw). Maybe it’s a penchant for punishment or a proclivity for predicaments, but I’ve always liked to «jump in and try» things. Some (or maybe most) of the time I enjoy conflict and conundrums; maybe people who like problem solving like board games? So, starting our first business with three young children and a prayer actually seems like a good idea to us! Also, we love this city, we love our neighbourhood and the surrounding Ottawa St BIA, and we absolutely love meeting new people and seeing families and friends gather around a table, enjoy some yummies, play some games and have a fantastic and memorable experience! We hope we can be that for you and we will work our butts off to see it happen.
