Writing this as an out-of-towner, so I don’t know all that it has to offer; however I love the diverse and terrific quality food vendors they have there. If I worked in the area I’d be there for lunch all the time. It’s a nice atmosphere too with lots of natural light. I believe they have a large weekend market full of many vendors.

I think it’s a great place for getting all your weekend groceries done in one go. Always busy. Tons of buskers from the man across from the newstands with the geetahr to a few younguns with their instruments from school. The upstairs eatery is fantastic. I highly recommend the Latvian food stand. Their potatoes are to die for!

I’m glad we have a year-round market, but this one certainly has its downsides. It’s not a producer-only market, so you get to see Mennonites hawking produce from Mexico and beyond. That said, there are a handful of true producers — they’re fairly obvious because they only have seasonal produce and their signs usually indicate where their products are from. When in doubt, just ask. There are a couple of stands that sell only local, organic produce. The prices of produce are always reasonable and comparable to, or better than, the grocery store. There are also a number of butchers, a couple of cheese counters, several pastry stands, a chocolate stand, etc. If you want the best prepared food in KW, hit up the La Casbah stand for hummus, samosas, etc. The mahajeb is insanely good.
