Is there an option for a half star for most improved? The Wortley used to be a place that I dreaded. Example: you couldn’t order any form of sandwich on a bun without butter because they«pre-buttered» the rolls in the morning. And admitted it. Without shame. A friend mentioned that they had recently embarked on the road to improvement. They were determined that not everything that came out of the kitchen would have made the trip via the deep fryer. We decided to give it a try. Clearly, they are sincere in their efforts. They now offer an expanded salad menu with appealing options. The most expensive thing on the salad menu is $ 12. Word of note: the shrimp in the Asian salad is fried and battered(didn’t expect that, and would have preferred it grilled). Sandwiches and wraps run from $ 7 for a BLT to $ 12 for the Philly sandwich. They are all a great deal. They also have daily specials that are inexpensive such as fish and chips for $ 7. Appetizers range from $ 4.25 for soup up to $ 20 for 2 pounds of wings. The service blew me away. Jen made at least two trips to the kitchen to ensure that nothing that I had ordered would be a problem with my allergies. Draft is $ 5 a pint. Seating options include tables, the bar and at least one banquette. I didn’t notice any décor changes, but I haven’t been there in a while. You can still rent the small room for functions, and they have a big patio in the summer. Well(re)done, Wortley!
