My companion had a chicken shwarma and was very pleased with it. It was the right balance of fresh tasty ingredients. The lentil soup hit the spot for me — delicious! Again a great balance of flavours. This place is a sure thing. The décor is very stylish — great ambience. The service was friendly and efficient.

This was our favorite meal of a six day vacation to Canada. Great, fresh mediterranean food with tons of greens. Mezza 4 is a beautiful treat.

I’ve been living on Baker St. for over a year now and I’ve been here a couple times, mainly because of the variety of other restaurants within walking distance and me trying to watch my spendings(I’m a student). I must say though, this restaurant has perhaps the best atmosphere in town. The metal tables/trays, along with the seat cushions, wall décor and traditional Arabic music they usually have playing in the background really make it feel like you’ve taken a trip to the Middle East or something without leaving town. No flatscreen TV’s playing sports matches nor loud, pounding music really added to the ambiance, although depending on the day and time, the sounds of young children may be present. Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food is one of my favourite world cuisines and I was not disappointed with Mana’eesh at all. Being born and raised in Vancouver and having tried other Middle Eastern restaurants, my only complaint was limited number of menu items, but that’s expected in a town of 11,000 where there is only one Middle Eastern restaurant as opposed to the many more back home. I don’t remember the names of the dishes I’ve tried, but my favourite was the rice with marinated lamb. The butterfly peaflower tea is very interesting though. I don’t know the exact blend as I was told it was proprietary. It’s a herbal tea that’s naturally sweet tasting and is a deep blue colour when it’s in the pot. However, it’s served with a slice of lemon in the glass so when you pour into the glass, it turns this beautiful purple colour. Not only beautiful to see, but beautiful to taste as well. It’s $ 4 for a personal size pot, so definitely not something I can afford on a regular basis. But then again I eat at home most of the time anyways.

OMG I think this is my new favorite restaurant in Nelson. The food is amazing. We ordered a number of the dishes to share amongst ourselves and the chef came out to tell us that she enjoyed cooking for us as this is the way families eat in the Middle East. The various dishes we chose were delicious but one that stood out for me was the tabbouleh. I am used to this being mostly a grain with a few herbs etc, but here it is all herbs in this fabulous dressing. It was simply amazing. The made in house pita to eat the delicious hummus with is another reason you won’t want to pass this restaurant by on your next search for an affordable delicious meal.

Our family has eaten here twice and we have enjoyed ourselves very much. Both the individual entrees(mostly the bowls) and the shared Mazza plates very tasty and reasonably priced.
