Coffee never included, expensive and bad tasting. Have moved on from there.

For starters it’s a diner, therefore, don’t expect much. I didn’t. It is cheap which made my wallet happy, however, the quality of food was not that great. I guess this is what you get when you order cheap but there are places around town that have decent quality. I did stick to the basic breakfast, therefore, it was as expected but the other dishes that came out didn’t look like it was worth my money. It gets a fair rating as the customer service was good and once again, prices during that week made a huge difference.

for a Diner, it is a great little place with very decent food for the very reasonable prices… i just ate a hamburger there with fries and my mushroom swiss cheese burger was fresh home made. THe fries were ok and the coffee good… service was friendly as usual and the young chinese man(i believe the owner’s son) was very helpful good humored kid. I asked him if the burger was any good and he truthfully told me it is and a good burger needs many napkins to clean up after its juiciness… which i know is true. So go and enjoy this place before they sell and shut it down… you know, so a high rise bland condo with a generic café/dental shop/anal hairs bleaching salon takes over.

I’ve eaten here a number of times over the years. Asian owned, family restaurant. A lot of seniors and local business eat here. I’d recommend finding a better place. If you don’t give a crap about your health(on occasion), then you’ll get a NON-NUTRITIONALCHEAP breakfast. Sausages consisting of mechanically separated meat, bacon with a rancid fat flavour, heavily processed bread(kind that almost turns to dust when toasted) with overkill nasty margarine and oil soaked pan fries. I used to like the clubhouse because of the«real» turkey without the margarine. The bread is of your CHEAP, PROCESSED variety and to keep my conscience at bay, I ask for brown. At times, I have a weak spot for french fries. I ordered the gravy with their crinkle cut style fries; similar to the NONAME brand at your the grocer. The gravy is terrible — thick, pasty flour mixture with zero flavour. I am food safe certified so I tend notice things especially when it comes to cleanliness and how food is handled, state of condiment containers,(salt/pepper/ketchup/vinegar), bathrooms, staff appearance, etc. The last time I was in here, they had 2 young girls working(likely family members). One of the girls cleaned the bathroom and with the SAMERUBBERGLOVES still on, came out and hung around the till/kitchen area touching things! The second girl was SERVINGFOOD and EATINGATTHESAMETIME with her mouth open and plates of food directly underneath. You know how some people eat; excessive/loud lip smacking, exposing food in their mouths, bits and pieces of food flying. You get the picture. I noticed they have JACKEDUPTHEIRPRICES which is completely out of line with the quality of food and atmosphere(very dingy). I swore the last time I was there, I was NEVERGOINGBACK. But in a moment of weakness, I did — due to hunger, poor lunch planning, time and lazy memory of previous visit(!). I went back today for a clubhouse. DUH! The sandwich was edible despite the rancid fat flavour on the bacon — they cook it in advance and let it sit. The FRENCHFRIES were DISGUSTING — this is a new issue. There was a foul CHEMICALAFTERTASTE which is hard to describe — not sure if it was the fries or the oil. I did not eat the fries but ate the sandwich. This is their lunch special for $ 9.25. When I explained the issue to the waitress — whose knickers went into an immediate twist and now sporting a heavy scowl — like it was a personal attack on her, in a defensive tone she explained that they had recently cleaned out the fryer(this may have been the source). She also said she needed to bring it to the owner/cook in the back — her lame attempt to quickly excuse herself. I went to the till to pay and she and the owner«tag-teamed» me(probably married/related). The owner ate a few fries in front of me, denying there was anything wrong with the taste. And the waitress ONLY addressed the price of the gravy by deducting $ 1.45. I explained to her that I did not think it was fair and that the price of a «side of fries» should be deducted since I did not eat it due to the chemical taste. She continued to carry on about how the $ 9.25 was a LUNCHSPECIAL to begin with and«they can’t take off that much». WHAT A RIPOFF. In the end I paid a total of $ 9.70 total for an over priced clubhouse sandwich(of that quality). I could have persisted and refused to pay for the fries(the principle) but I just did not have the time or energy(probably because the chemicals got to me by this time — lol). It’s difficult to reason with business owners like this who are stubborn and unwilling to receive useful feedback from their customers because they only have $$ signs in their eyes. For all I know, they could have cleaned the fryer but failed to rinse it out thoroughly or maybe they bought a new brand of cheap oil, maybe even a bad batch of fries. Whatever the case, I’d be cautious about eating here(poor food products, overpricing, unsafe food handling). Bottom line: STAYAWAY. MUCH better places to eat and more ethical service.

We have eaten here a couple of times… the food and the service were good. The Workman’s Breakfast is a great deal, full plate with 3 eggs, bacon AND sausage, plus real hash browns potatoes, not the frozen kind most restaurants serve. The price is very reasonable… good coffee too. The place could use a restaurant make-over, but we came for the food, not the atmosphere.

Food is horrible!!! I was so curious to find out why there were so many people in the restaurant. Good thing I explored so I can avoid going in next time with my friends. You can make this food at home and still do a better job than this place.

If you are looking for a big, very cheap, low quality breakfast then this is the place for you. The quality of the food is as low as the price. You can’t offer food that cheap and have any expectations. I would best describe this place as Mehhhh.

When in New Westminster, and for me, that’s usually for morning eye doctor apointments(ugh!), breakfast at Amelia’s before sure works for me! It’s typical breakfast fare, served up with friendly service. Good stuff, and good value too.

Gotta love a place in the heart of uptown where you can still get a well-made very filling breakfast for $ 5. It’s very conveniently located, the food is wonderful, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they’ll refill your coffee all morning. It has a lot of tables so you rarely have to wait. I’ve only ever tried it for breakfast, but they also offer Chinese food and a mix of lunch items. It’s my favourite breakfast place in New West, but minus 1 star for being cash-only in the 21st Century.

Amelia’s is definitely a greasy spoon type of breakfast spot but the food is pretty decent and the prices are good. The service is pretty speedy too. It’s quite the local spot and I enjoy it way more than going to one of the chain brekky places.

To be honest from the outside it doesn’t look like much but looks can be deceiving a popular diner for the locals it’s always busy every time I walk by or go in. Food is good and very inexpensive the breakfast special is always a great choice Not open on Monday’s open limited hours but other than that I have no complaints it’s definitely worth a visit

This place is nothing special. I am new to the area and tried this place. It’s nothing you can’t get a Dennys. Basic options. They only accept cash which is also lame.

Looks like a greasy spoon from the street. Inside the décor is very dated but it’s clean. Breakfast is very reasonably priced. Portions are good. Service is ok. Breakfast for two under 20 bucks with tip. How can you go wrong?

I’m not normally in New West but have had a work opportunity to spend some time in this neighbourhood recently. Every restaurant I have been to has had spectacularly friendly service(almost as if your mom was serving you). Amelia’s is no different. This place has All Day Breakfast starting at $ 4.95. I had the $ 4.95 special and it came with 2 perfectly poached eggs(and trust me — a LOT of places cannot properly poach eggs!), 3 large, crispy bacon rashers, toast and delicious home made hashbrowns — potatoes smashed onto the grill just the way i like! The service was quick and efficient and the décor is old-school — it is a non-greasy, greasy spoon but everything was clean, delicious and very inexpensive.

This is my regular breakfast place. Food is good, value is great, service is good. 2-egg+sausage+toast+hashbrown breakfast specials can be had for $ 4 — you can’t go wrong. This place follows all the rules of running a successful restaurant — know thy market. In this case, the market are people wanting a cheap, greasy breakfast. No frills, no gimmicks, just the goods at a great price. They have a pretty wide Chinese-Canadian selection of food, which I have never tried. I go here when I’m too lazy to cook breakfast(most weekends), so I generally only eat breakfast.

Great breaky place, food always consistently good. Service is prompt and the price is right. Try most other spots for bacon and egg breaky like this and you would pay double or triple the price as here.

This is my favourite breakfast dive. Not much to look at but real friendly. The hashbrowns are made from chunky potatoes, eggs are perfect(in my case poached), and the don’t even get me started on the crispy bacon. All for about $ 4.50. Mmmmm. They’ve got kick-ass french fries and weirdly good Wor Won Ton soup with udon noodles.
