Historique

Fondé en 1969.

It all began pre-ICBC; while working at various brokerages, Don Archibald, Terry Clarke and Ron Defieux found that the policies offered by many brokers were too restrictive so they started AC&D Insurance to create innovative programs and packages that the marketplace didn’t offer. This was the basis for the creation of AC&D Insurance and is still an important part of our philosophy today. We represent a larger number of insurers than most brokers and as a result can offer more choices to our customers.

Joe S.

Gérant de commerce

In 1974 A C & D’s current CEO, Joe Stonehouse, then 24, began as an Auto insurance representative. «I was working for Terry Clarke as a carpenter,» recalls Joe. «One rainy winter day he asked if I wanted to try insurance. With a baby on the way it sounded like a good time to come in from the rain.» Joe’s in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry and unique management approach has made AC&D what it is today.

Joe’s first day on the job, February 28, 1974, would be a day he’d never forget. «ICBC was new and everybody renewed on the same day, which happened to be the day I started.» Although Joe Stonehouse left the company in 1976 to explore other opportunities in the insurance industry, he eventually returned to AC&D and became a partner in 1988. His in-depth knowledge of the industry and unique management approach have made AC&D what it is today. In 2001, Joe’s son Brody joined the company to work with his father and help direct the company into the future.
