I have a practically ancient«clamshell» iBook whose battery was totally shot – it ran for about ten minutes on a «full» charge. Replacing it was not an option, and I thought I would be tethered to the AC adapter forever until I heard about this place, which swaps out the innards of a wide range of obsolete batteries. They also do printer cartridges, cell batteries, and other hard to replace items. The shop itself is small, cluttered, and isn’t very inviting(there’s a scary looking bolt across the door, and no hours posted). But for $ 80 – less than the price of a new battery they don’t make anymore – I was able to get my useless electronic paperweight turned into a battery again, which now lasts four hours. And the work only took about an hour, so I was able to hang around the neighbourhood and take it home the same day.
