I had a great experience at this Source last week. I owe it all to the super-dee-duper customer service of… i wish i knew her name. I needed replacement headphones for my iPod(i hate iPod headphones. My ears are not perfect circles!) So i was perusing a little. Truthfully the only thing i cared about was that they had the gummy thingies that go in your ear for comfort, and that the cord was white. I’m a simple gal. The CSR in there was young and super nice. Not pushy at all. She helped me choose my ear buds and casually chatted with me. That’s it. No pressure. No upsells. Fab.

The Source is one of those places where it’s so painfully obvious that the employees work on commission, in that they are completely transparent and unapologetic about it. Me: Do you have any cases for an iPod classic? Note: I was also buying replacement headphones. Employee 1: Unfortunately not. But let me ask you this, do you own a cell phone? Me: You’re not selling me a cell phone today. Employee 1: Well many people with cell phones are significantly overpaying and don’t even realize it. Me: My employer pays for mine. If they overpay that’s their problem. Employee 2(at the cash): Will that be all? We have a great deal on batteries right now. Me: Just the headphones thanks, they are not battery powered from what I can tell. Employee 2 and Me: Would you like a three year… No…(continued attempt to sell)…I’ll just buy new ones if they break. I was finally permitted to leave at this point with no additional attempts to sell me a GPS, TV, remote controlled car or any other item they sell.
