Had a veal sandwich that clearly sat in a warming drawer all day. The breading was falling off the veal and the bun was breaking apart. I do not recommend. Honest to God I contemplated throwing this up so I can eat something half decent. A disgrace to claim they make Italian sandwiches!

Oh dear. Ok so I was super excited when this place opened up as I’m a sucker for a great veal sandwich. I had visions of California Sandwiches(now open in Scarborough near Warden and Lawrence I think) or Uno Mustachio’s in the St. Lawrence Market. Lots of meat, fried eggplant, lots of toppings available(and generous amounts), great bun… sadly not the case here. We ordered 2 Veal Sandwiches, a Sausage Sandwich, one of the Rice Balls, and a slice of Pizza. The Veal Sandwich had one piece of veal on it that had been sitting in sauce for quite some time(read soggy). I added toppings of onion and mushrooms… and literally got 4 pieces of onion and 4 mushrooms at $ 0.50 for each topping type. The bread wasn’t great, and the veal got lost in the bun. The sausage on the sausage sandwich was dry and I’m guessing had been sitting in the warming tray all day. If it was fresh cooked for you it would have been good, but was dry and not great. The Italian bun it was on wasn’t good either. Fell apart as soon as you picked it up. Pizza was not good. Rice Ball was nothing special but was not terrible. To be fair we just sampled from the«hot bar» section. They also had cheeses and cold cuts so maybe those sandwiches are better. But for me this was overall pretty disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I’ll make the drive to California Sandwiches or Uno Mustachio’s to get my sandwich fix if needed(the owners might want to go there also to see what their competition is). On the plus side… the staff were nice and the place was clean, just not great given what we ordered.
