Well we’ve been here in a lot of occasions and normally I feel pretty happy about my experience here but today was not like that. For starters, we just had dinner somewhere else and came here just for some drinks after that. It was raining pretty bad and me and another friend were having a smoke on the way, we(I get it wrongly) were smoking on the little roof outside the door when this hostess lady walks out and tell us to move so people could open the door, which seemed pretty reasonable, so we said sorry and move a little trying to still get some roof. When same lady comes out again and tell us «I was not kidding, I don’t smoke and it’s not nice to have you guys outside… And it’s the law you can’t be smoking on the door» I get her point, but as a person that works in service there were other ways to say it without that condescending tone and b. chy attitude… We where going to find some other place but as I said earlier it was raining. We come inside and the same hostess girl gave us a nasty look. After that the girl that took our order was really nice so I don’t have any complaints there. But the hostess girl that is the one that is supposed to make me want to walk in the establishment did a lousy job(in my opinion) not being welcoming at all.

Okay, I had Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese and it was really great. Good thing it wasn’t bigger! My girlfriend had the beef dip with sage and garlic fries. The fries were insane! Didn’t last long at all! The beef dip had great taste, but I found the beef was cut a bit thick and had some gristle in it. My GF loved it still. If I’m back in town I will definitely eat here again. Our waitress Tessa was wonderful, a great gal! My Guinness was served at the perfect temperature and my GF Pino was spit on. All in all, a super place! I like it here.

there are times when you have to wait service longer than expected, but overall good service and great food/drink options available. I like the fact that this place open ’till 3AM.

Honestly was not impressed with anything. Ordered their suggested«to die for» burger suggested by the waitress and a winter ale. Both were a huge line, obviously the beer really is not their fault, but the burger was very plain and totally not worth 20 dollars… Waitresse was hit and miss, she served us food and immediately checked back in before I even tried a bite of my food and asked how it was. Honestly, look somewhere else.

It’s just okay. I came in as part of a group of nine because the menu was diverse enough to cover the variety of dietary restrictions popular in the 21 century(with some modifications). The food was decent, I was pleased the standard organic greens came wth fig and goat cheese. I ordered the portobello and eggplant sandwich — it was tasty although I was a little disappointed that the bread wasn’t toasted and the cheese wasn’t melted. Maybe that’s just my own personal preference. Some wings were ordered amongst my peers and one set had to be sent back because there clearly was hardly any sauce. It wasn’t like it was a cheap wing night either. The 8 or so hot wings for $ 13 should definitely be hot. The service was good though. Our waitress was extremely busy but she always made an effort to come around to check that we were satisfied.

Maika was an amazing waitress. She was super friendly and made sure we never had empty glasses on the table and consistently made sure that we had everything we needed. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Canada :)

The menu has been visually updated and is a lot more appealing than the food itself. Had to send our pizza back as it looked worse than the one across the street at $ 1.99/slice — completely unappetizing. Definitely not worth it for food! Good service, stick to the drinks.

Came here to watch the final of the woman’s soccer world cup and have a few drinks. There was definitely no shortage of screens in there, we counted about 15 in a space of 30−40m2. I had an Aperol Spritz, which was slightly different to how they serve it in Austria and Germany but I really liked it. It’s a bit more like I do it at home, adding a splash of orange juice. I also had the weekly special cocktail, which was a gin and tonic with rosemary, and was very refreshing. I didn’t like the interior: too dark and it looked cheap. The dresses of the waitresses were a bit too short and their décolletage a bit too revealing for my taste. But they were nice and the service was good.

It’s open late, and has a good selection of beer I recommend the Pils by Fernie Brewing, Parallel 49 Craft Lager, or the trusty Blue Buck They make a decent gin and tonic, too Good late night place, but wouldn’t come here before 12am

I’ve been coming here for years and the food and service is always great. I stopped in today to take advantage of their $ 5 wings. A pound of wings and a choice of 12 sauces is a no brainer. I also noticed they do $ 2 beers on Tuesday. I’ll be back for sure!

Wow. $ 7 for a Corona? … I probably won’t be going back there based on the high prices. I know it’s Vancouver and everything’s expensive and all, but if you want to pay way too much for drinks, then Cinema is your place. I would honestly call«Happy Hour», «Regular-Priced Hour» as it would be more representative of what you’ll be paying, otherwise, hit your local liquor store and head to the beach.

I tried to like this place, but had a similar experience to many of the other reviewers. The service was pretty darn terrible. When my friend and i ate here there was barely anyone in the restaurant so it was mostly empty tables, but they choose to seat us right beside the kitchen door. Then, as the staff moved in and out of the kitchen the ambient low light of the restaurant would get broken by the bright bright lights of the kitchen, and the already hard to talk over loud music had the general clattering of cooking added to it so there was no chance of a casual meal spent chatting. At one point the door to the kitchen got stuck open and the staff just ignored that fact and kept going in and out of it without any attempt to close it. Eventually, while catching the eye of a nearby waitress, I leaned over in super pointed slow motion and pushed the door so it unstuck and shut. She did not acknowledge that any of this had happened(not even a quick, «oh, oops, sorry» or something) and it was clear to me which one of us cared about the dining comfort of the customers — and it was not her. The food was fine.

Drinks are nice but the service is crap. The C saw me and my friend and ignored us(?!). When I asked for menus(after 15 mins) she tried to blame me(!?) by mumbling something about«When I said Hi to you I figured you didn’t want anything.» Seriously, why did we come in then? What are we, homeless people sneaking in to escape the ravaging blizzard outside? Is it normal for customers to go into a bar/restaurant sit down and order nothing? I can’t believe this C actually blamed her customer for. Her own absentmindedness. Childish, unprofessional, and embarassing. She also«upsold» us on the more expensive Tequila(not what I ordered, but hey, gotta make tips right?), and an extra beer. It’s a nice place but in future, I will be treating waiters/waitresses like 3 year olds because they clearly can’t be trusted. ;)

I have to say the food was fantastic. It was my first time here and my friend highly recommended the bangers and mash, which was really delicious, but the service was definitely lacking. Drinks were ordered without any problems, but as soon as they were delivered the server snatched up our menus without asking us if we wanted to order. ??? So after waiting a bit for her to return, we had to track her down so that we could put in our order. She seemed distracted with other patrons – maybe she was overloaded that night. Still. Also, the music was a bit too loud for us(server and customers) to hear each other without shouting. If it were a tiny bit quieter and service had been better, it would have been a great experience.

Stopped In to have a couple beer and escape the rain. My shopping buddy had a chicken avo salad and I was actually jealous that I ate before coming here. Phone was nearly dead and the bartender was awesome enough to offer to plug it in behind the bar instead of me jacking it somewhere randomly on the wall. So, that pretty much made my day, as I’m over from Victoria. Thanks for being a little more awesome than the drab, soullessness that Vancouver can sometimes be.

Came for happy hour but didn’t realize they have no happy hour on food… What? Some drink specials for $ 3 which is fine but come on bring on the food! The atmosphere itself is typical Donnelly group with some bar games in lounge. Not impressed. Value 2⁄5 Atmosphere 3.5÷5 Service 3⁄5 Quality 2⁄5 10.5÷20

I came here with 4 other people for nibbles and beer. I am not a fan of this place. This place is dark, loud, with mediocre service and food. I don’t understand why people like coming here. I shared a blackened chicken sandwich with a girl friend(no mayo and substitute a salad). The boys each ordered ling cod fish and chips and shared a pitcher of beer. I don’t know if this place was understaffed, if there was a game going on, or it was dinner rush, the service was really lacking. Our server looked like she just wanted to get through her shift as fast as possible. I don’t blame her, having an enforced dress code to reveal your 3 inch cleavage, skirt hem line that barely covers your buttocks, and have to plaster on a ton of make up in a busy hustling environment, really, I don’t blame her. In fact, I feel sorry for her to the point I just want to pack my food and eat on the street instead. She tried making small conversations but they feel like chores and she had no care of our responses. The Cajun rubbed chicken breast was at least moist and cooked. The sandwich, which was more like a chicken burger, didn’t have soggy buns thank goodness. The salad was at least fresh with no limp, dying leaves. I got complaints from the boys saying their fish n chips sucked(and they’re no where close to be considered foodies). I had some just to gain a better understanding of their taste buds. The ling cod was over battered which formed a callus of skin/crust. The batter was oily(most likely the deep fryer wasn’t hot enough or too many items were frying simultaneously), the fish was over-cooked and under seasoned. The fries tasted stale, the coleslaw was disgusting(under seasoned and very vinegar-y). The tar tar sauce was the highlight. I think they put fresh onions in there or something. It was delicious. We were fortunate to receive 20% discount off our food due to our corporate perks. Seriously there was no value in paying full price for food of that(lack of) quality. There were a lot of loud and obnoxious patrons so we just ate our food, drained our beer, paid, and left.

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet. In all the years I’ve lived in Vancouver, I may not have gone to Cinema all the time(like I do other clubs) but when I do, it’s a pretty decent time. I love the fact that it’s a very clean establishment, with decent pricing on alcohol and food. The games are always fun, currently they have 2 pin ball machines, a foosball table, Big Game Hunter and I think they may actually have a shuffleboard in there too.(I’m writing this off memory, so I’m really not sure if the shuffle board is there anymore or not.) This was the first bar I’ve ever had a Peroni beer. Years ago I remember a friend of mine buying me one here and I’ve come back here specifically for that beer on a few occasions. The food is good and I’ve had some fun times with friends here on a few occasions because they have lots of seating inside. This place is definitely good for groups.

Has the potential to be a decent place, but the service is terrible Our short brunette(with long hair) was more interested in hanging out with her fat boyfriend then doing her job We spent $ 250+ and 90% of our orders was our group sending someone up to the bar. We even had other waitresses try to serve our group drinks, only for our little troll waitress get up and block our drinks. She had a nose piercing… I’m sure every staff members knows her as the worthless troll waitress that scares away business

Wandered in here after a Caps game as everywhere else on the walk was busy. Probably due to the Nucks game starting shortly after. Our server was pleasant and quick, but the food and overall ambience was just a bit off. They do have a Unilocal check in deal which is nice and they let us apply it to the whole group. Also a bonus. I think my main issue with it is that it comes off as a nightclub, which perhaps it is later in the evening. But for an afternoon meal it was very dark inside, and we were seated by the windows.
