Had breakfast here at it was absolutely delicious! Everything I wanted in a breakfast, waffle, hashbrowns, sausage, and eggs! Lots of food for a good price!

Stay away! Big scam and The WORST Service I ever had. Restaurant was filthy and they didn’t even bother to clean up the table or menus and they were all sticky. Waitress shows up once and got order for Caesar and ask if we want double or single. We had ordered 2 double and 1 single. Then she god the order which 2 of us add extra Chorizo sausage. Then she disappears and didn’t even bother to ask for more drink or anything else. After we complain and long after(almost 35 minutes) she showed up with all our orders wrong, and she didn’t even bring the extra Chorizo sausages. When we asked she brought 3 small breakfast sausages We were so upset we finish fast and ask for bill, she brought without deleting the extra from the bill, and also add those 3 sausages to the bill, not even sorry for stupid service they have. We ask to exclude those itmes, she spend almost 10 minutes and come back with those items deleted but not changing the bill amount. At this point we were so tired we just paid and left. I am not surprised if they close this location.

Went here for dinner before the Canucks game. Never again. It wasn’t very busy, however the service was very slow. Their menu lists certain beers on tap but they don’t have what is listed. Ordered a different brand and when I ordered a second they ran out. Asked for salad dressing on the side but came on the salad. The food was actually decent but the waitress was horrible. Slowest service I’ve ever had.

Loathsome food; execrably understaffed. The lone, poorly trained waitress was trying her best but was scrambling to keep up. A big fat No.

Wheeeeeeee! They improve their breakfast menu. More yummy food to choose from. So I tried so far their chicken and waffles. Perfectly cooked the chicken was melting in my mouth. Also the waffle are big and fluffy. One word: WHAMMY French toast. Really big and warm. I wish they spread some confectioner sugar on the top. Remember I gotta sweet tooth. Also I take the shredded potatoes side. For about 4,00 you can pic the ”Mexican” version. That mean: melted cheese, sour cream, green onion and bacon. My only complain was the bacon was overcooked. Very dry, so dry that I didn’t eat it at all… But the food came out quickly as usual. Warm and ready to dig in. Yes I am a fan for years… No line-up thumbs-up!

Well, not going to lie but we ended up coming here because the life ups were too long at Denny’s and a few other places. It’s relatively cheap and gets the breakfast done but if you are looking for something a little more gourmet, you should look for another place. The staff is nice, and the food is solid for the price but lacks that extra kick! The coffee is classic drip coffee and they don’t do any latte’s or cappuccino or anything! ARGGGHHH!

Although there was a distinct lack of a greeter for the first 5 minutes of our experience there, the server that helped us later on definitely more than made up for it! She was extremely friendly and treated us as if we were regulars so that definitely made the night that much more enjoyable here. The Clubhouse sandwich had some GREAT bacon as it was crunchy and not too greasy! Unfortunately, the bottoms of the sandwich were a little well done, even for my liking. Overall, they have a pretty big menu so lots to choose from as well as possessing quite a few drink specials, if you’re into that kind of thing!

I came down here for a class breakfast or brunch at 9:30am, depending on how you look at it. I had ordered the Grand Forks Breakfast, the food came within 20 mins so it was pretty quick since there was barely anyone else there and the portions was just as huge as I had imagined it. While the prices was somewhat high, but at least it gets the job on filling me up done just right. Upon reading the reviews before I came here, I didn’t have high hopes on the service, maybe we were lucky, but the waiter we had was actually pretty friendly. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a full 5 stars is that the cup of coffee and a fruit bowl my teacher had ordered ended up costing her a little over $ 10 after tip. I’m sorry but that is just highway robbery no matter how you put it. Other than that complaint, everything else was pleasant. I might consider coming back if I am ever in the neighborhood with other people.

First of all, this is Rickys, it’s not a Gotham, which is what you would think some of the reviewers expect from this place but I digress. In my own experience the food is good and the service friendly. I try to come during less busy periods of the day and eat here often since it’s close to my apartment. 99% of the time I am happy with my meal and overall experience. This place can get oddly busy at random times, sometimes it’s due to canucks games and events and sometimes it’s just the random few groups that decide to grab food here. It’s difficult to predict how much staff you need when a restaurant has weird busy periods like this and so if you come here and see a line up then be prepared to wait a little longer than usual. They do their best to staff the place with enough people but sometimes they do end up under-staffed. That being said, I can tell you the staff here works really hard and does care about their customers, more so than a lot of other restaurants. My personal favorites here are: the chorizo bowl, grilled cheese & tomato soup combo and the avocado omelette(forgot the exact name). You can’t go wrong with those.

I don’t know why it gets bad reviews… It’s Ricky’s?! It’s nothing out of the world amazing, but it’s good breakfast food in downtown for a good price! We sat out in the patio and it was such a good meal. The service is great, the food came out quick, and the price is good. I’ve been to many different locations, but this one is superb, especially on a sunny day :) Oh, also a great spot to catch sports if you’re into them!

they’ve(Hildebrandts) been trying several things to try and get people past the idea that ricky’s is only breakfast– but really, they barely do THAT well! avoid the pancakes, the eggs are warm-ish and often slippery, can’t go wrong with bacon over pork sausage. Until they paired up with fatburger, ricky’s has been famous for crappy food that comes essentially entirely prepackaged from their supplier– and, b/c head office receives a cut from the franchise’s supply order(as is the case with most major franchises of the era!), this will not change. At least with fatburger, you know you’re getting a good burger; but better go to a real fatburger outlet. Ricky’s is one of the last holdouts of all that was wrong with the 1990’s era fast– food outlets that think they’re restaurants.

Missed breakfast across the street because we started the day late. My friend had her heart set on eggs Benny though, so this was our only option. The food was cold + not at all impressive. We only ate half of it. It reminded me of a Denny’s or Shari’s. Such a disappointment.

If I could give ½ star, Id do 1.5 Went before a Canucks game. There was nothing wrong with the food. It was hot, and tasted ok. But thats about it. It was very meh and average. I had a burger, my wife had a chicken sandwich. There was nothing special about them, and they didn’t wow me. It was a meal. That’s about it. And the service was pretty shaky. Waitress said it was because some staff didn’t show, so they were running slow.

If you’re only concern is sunshine and cost then this is the place for you. This place doesn’t serve any better food than your average White Spot(I assume) and it doesn’t have a great drink menu. Anything you can get on the menu here can be just as easily made in the comfort of your own home and will probably taste better. But, it’s cheap. The main selling point for Ricky’s is that it has a patio which catches the sun perfectly around 12 – 12:30 p.m. Even on a chilly day when temperatures were dipping down to around 10 degrees I was ready to take off my jacket.

This place was great early on a Sunday morning :-) Service was very attentive, they brewed a fresh pot of coffee for me and got the melas out quickly as promised(with all of our various special requests) Good place to go if you have a mid-sized or large party for breakfast.

Have been to this Ricky’s four times and regretted all four. Our very last time we went in, didn’t get seated for 5 minutes despite there being no lineup at the door but no host/hostess or waiter/waitress in sight. After finally getting seated and having menus, we were forced to wait another 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our order, offer us water or even say good morning. Left right at the 15 minute mark and will never go back. I would give this place 0 stars, but I feel bad for taking their copy of the Vancouver Province for my inconvenience(Sunday edition too, so it was a thicker issue). If I’m going to have to wait, I’m going across the street to Medina. At least i know there will be great food to reward me for my patience at Medina.

Solid 3.5, as it’s been awhile; after sitting down, had to realize it’s gone thru a major upgrade from the old days as just a breakfast place. Came here for a quick pitstop after lunch, yet still managed to engulf the poutine & sticky toffee pudding, a date-based goodie that will melt a lot of teeth, even by my standards, it’s quite sweet but yummy. Poutine’s good, not as salty as NY Fries or Burger King, & liked how there were even cheese curds all the way to the bottom of the pile, so no cheaping out here. Extensive menu: breakfast, pizza & burgers. booth seating avail. Décor, it’s catching up to the Boston Pizzas’, Dennys, so will return. Located right next to Fatburger, as it’s a bit off on your right side if you’re flying by Dunsmuir, easy to miss. Better park here or on Richards St to make a left on anothe one-way street, as you won’t be allowed to make another right til 6 blocks down, onto Burrard! Friendly service.

The only thing that saved them from 1 star was the waitress. She was an older Asian lady I cannot recall her name. When I got the ribs they did NOT look as advertised. And I was sure to point this out to the waitress since it is one of the ONLY items to be pictured in the menu. I followed it by saying I would gladly pay for the salad and water, but certainly NOT the entrée. DIS-GUS-TING. Yuck, valuable lesson learned DONOT order the ribs. The waitress said«no charge». I left her a $ 2 tip(not her fault) and walked right out the door. edit: I emailed them asking if they wanted to see a picture of it and never got back. so I wil share it with you all.

I only ever go to Ricky’s for breakfast. They don’t have anything else on their menu that stands out to me enough to have me come back for more. Even their breakfasts are kind-of sub-par. They do have large portions for the price though, which is great if you’re a glutton like me(or hungover).I like eggs bennedict… and they have them here. I like the big belgium waffle too. But overall, I only ever go here when I’m too lazy to walk anywhere else because I just live across the street. The food is decent for the price. The service is pretty poor and the atmosphere is really lame. Overall, pretty sucky place… but decent breakfasts.

Ricky’s is one of those places that is quite hard to try for dinner, because it keeps closing at 1900. So today I finally had a chance to try their all-day breakfast. Parking here kinda sucks, unless you have friends that live in the nearby condos. There’s also an EasyPark nearby, but chances are you aren’t going to make a trip out just to eat here. The interior is clean and stylish, but tiny. In terms of depth, the seating area is wide but«shallow». There is also an outside patio but as it was closed today(rain). If I were to describe this place in 1 sentence, it would be «just like Denny’s but with less grease». The menu items are 80% identical(with different names of course). As for the food? Hash browns — shredded, just like Denny’s. Nice and crispy, and not too salty or greasy. Toast — really really dry. Of course this just means that they didn’t dip it in butter before toasting, so this is not a bad thing. Sausage — same thing. Not too greasy. Eggs — they’re. normal and not rotten. Yay? The server was friendly, but as she was also the hostess, it was impossible to flag her down half the time. The food here is decent, but to be honest, it’s nothing special.
