Tried to go an use our Groupon on a Tuesday night. Found a table but couldn’t get service. Walked around and found a server who said she wouldn’t serve our area as it was«closed» even though it was filled with people and clearly open. Tried to find another table but couldn’t. Advertised as a place for food– it is not its a night club. Total disappointment would give it zero stars if that we’re an option. This is my first negative review ever :(

Somehow I ended up here during a pub crawl which is known to the Irish as the«12 pubs of Christmas». This pub crawl is exactly as it sounds, you have 12 pubs to hit and you have to drink at every one. Our pub crawl started in gastown, so by the time we got to the Granville strip, things were starting to get a little bit messy. The Forum was probably one of my least favourite spots, not necessarily due to the venue, but the lovely clientelle, which just reinforces the fact that I hate Granville street. I can’t remember if I had a drink here or not to be perfectly honest, and I can’t remember if we paid cover to get in. The music was pretty good, I remember dancing on the small stage-like area, but I remember the bar having carpet on the floor in the seated area, and that is one of my pet peeves. There should never at any point anywhere in a place where people are spilling drinks and barfing be carpet on the floor. My real gripe was with a group of Granville street hussies(most likely regulars who were not comfortable with me being on their stomping ground) who started questioning my friends to the third degree about me in the bathroom, not knowing that I was in the stall while they were doing so. Srsly ladies, the city is big enough for all of us, and you need to settle the fuck down. Don’t you see how much more powerful we could be if we worked together as a team of hussies instead of gettin’ our hate-on with eachother for no reason at all? How about we stop being catty and competitive and start being fabulous and fun instead? Sounds good to me!

Should’ve thought of this as a go-to place to watch hockey games. great location, great layout… like how the back is raised to a ‘mezzanine’ level overlooking the bar. Long bar too. Separate private room on the left. Been to a few events here, good for that.

I had a GroupOn for 2 for 1 meals. Decent… for a sports bar. $ 4PBR’s and reasonably organized sandwich entrees! I think I’ll be back if Hockey starts up again. The floor could use a good scrub though I mean… Don’t use the excuse that since you are on Granville street near Davie that you don’t need to use a mop!

Wow, the waitresses here suck! Wanna have to pay in the middle of your evening and the game coz the waitress feels like it and doesn’t feel like taking more orders? Then come here. Also, do you enjoy attitute from waitresses that clearly have no manners? Then this is the right place for you. It’s a shame coz the place itself is nice with lots of TVs and great specials throughout the week. Not worth it though.

Went there for the Euro Cup Game around noon. Was greeted by a friendly bartender and found a table in an empty bar. We grabbed a nice corner booth and got decent service. The pitchers of Canadian were 19.25… I mean 20 for a pitcher of beer… no. The décor was ok and the tables were allright but 20 for a pitcher of beer… no thank you ever again! We ordered Nachos… came pretty good time being an empty restaurant and all but they werent that great. Cheap cheese and skimpy toppings. Didn’t eat that many of them. When the games finished they put on the most horrid hair metal from the 80s… it was not very pleasant. I heard this place used to be good when it opened up. but it is not worth you going in unless you like looking deeply in the bartenders eyes and declaring your love for overpriced cleavage service… No thanks!

Went here for hockey game with a small group of friends. We knew since it is a hockey game and sport bar it would get busy, so some of the group went early to grab seats. When the rest of group came the waitress redirected us to another location of the bar, when we got there, another waitress said we couldn’t sit there. We then got redirected back to our old location then told again to move to a spot where our group would be split up. As you can imagine this was super frustrating. It was even more frustration to see that the first redirection to the bigger both was not even used the whole time we were there. The service there was just subpar. The whole redirection thing, the waitress did not provide us with menus until we asked, and there were long gaps between when the waitress would check in on us. The food and drinks were. how can i describe it… meh. Normal pub food, just over priced and the same for the cocktails. Well we were pretty sure that the said alcohol in the cocktails were not present. Overall, there is nothing there to make me come back. If you are looking for a great spot to watch the game, this isn’t it. I suggest not wasting money or time on this place. There are so many other places to enjoy them!

I must start this review by saying that I was not at the bar at a time where there was a hockey game on so maybe the place is a decent sports bar but I digress. When we arrived they had some tv’s on showing some sports highlights with some terrible music on the sound system. Soon after arriving the tv’s were turned off and they started pumping crappy top 40 music! I did not head to a bar/pub to go to a dance club there are enough of these on the Granville Strip already! Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle I am sexy and I know it… ahhhh the music is translating into the review. Back to our scheduled review. If you are looking for a true sports bar this is not the place to go. I recommend heading out of downtown into Vancouver Proper or heading out into the burbs. Here you will get a sports bar that is sports all the time(they may have bad music but it is not a night club). A sports bar should have tv’s everywhere from big to huge. Everywhere I say! I will just have to remember that the Granville Strip is off limits after dark!

Random night in Van. Spent a couple of days up in Van with some people and didn’t really plan what we were going to do for the night. Was going to head to a club but there were lines everywhere. Went inside one club realll quick and left because we didn’t like the music. On our quest to find a good hip-hop club, ran into some dude that gave us tickets to get into forum. Didn’t realize it was a bar until we got there but I guess it was some special DJ night. They played some house music and we made the best of it. Crowd was meh.

Ugh, where should I start. 1) Terrible Caesar’s at this place; 2) The calamari was all tentacles; 3) The worst trivia night ever. More on the trivia night, I was trying to watch a Canucks game and the ridiculous trivia and inane hosts nearly made me leave. I will remember this place on future trips to Vancouver, as a place absolutely not to go.

Firstly the place had rasied the pricing on all drinks as well as having crappy service. Not only that, they overcharged us on our meals. As well as not telling us of the cover charge when we had called the place for seats. That is insane and rude. The waitress seemed like she did not want to work there. She threw our dishes on the table and rolled her eyes. The only thing she was diligent in was double charging some of us and chasing after us to pay the bill.

Christine R made an excellent UYE possible here as I attended«Vancouver’s Got Talent» with some amazing Unilocal voices on Karaōke Monday at The Forum Sports Bar. It’s unfortunate that the Karaōke didn’t take place until later at night which wasn’t meant to be for some that had their mind on working or getting up early the next Morning. Prior to joining some of the best Elites of Vancouver, I was awaiting them at a Table watching Blake Griffin and the LA Clippers get beat on 3 side-by-side Big Screens right behind the Bar. I bet that the Bartenders thought I was trying to give them Eye-contact but I was merely naturally drawn to anything TV related. I’ve got to say I was quite turned off initially by the cost of the Mojitos($ 10+) and other drinks but luckily each night has a few Drinks on special which are more relevant and down-to-earth. The Mojitos wasn’t overly sweet which is nice but needed more Booze even for a light drinker like myself.

I joined a Unilocal group here for Karaōke recently. Tell me WHY the place doesn’t have the karaōke start earlier than 10pm?! And then if say five people put in songs, the DJ doesn’t call those singers up in the order their songs were submitted? And what’s with the slutty DJ comments and obvious alcohol consumption(to reckless abandonment — was it an act?). And a $ 14 taco salad?! The environment was over-loud and just not as fun as other hangouts. The group rocked but there are way too many other cooler places than to do _this_again. Sigh.

Came here again on an actual sports night. The Canucks game was on and so the place was buzzing. Drink specials were OK. The mojitos were nice and big, and on special, but I still can’t get over having to pay more than $ 15 for a pitcher of Molson. That’s ridiculous! Service was pretty good for a weekend hockey night, and our server made a note to hand our party over to another server so that she could manage the 50+ group of people next to us and not have us neglected. Good call! I’m still meh on the Forum. It’s good when you’re close and there’s nowhere else to go.

Yay for karaōke Mondays!(Although, note to Forum staff: why do you need to start the fun so frickin’ late on a «school night»?? No offence but not like anything else exciting was going on between 9 and 10. We brought you the party!) Anyway, I digress. The cheap 1L mojitos were great — although a little more alcohol wouldn’t have hurt. I personally received good service but I know other people had some issues. Anyway, I would love to come back at some point more karaōke. I didn’t eat at Forum on this occasion but I have had appies here before and they were decent.

Love the Karaōke Mondays! Great hang out for Unilocalers! They have tons of space. 1L mojito specials served in mason jars! But they didn’t have so much alcohol in them. And Barry M’s burger sat for 10 minutes before being served to him, and was charred. Other than that, they were good with our group.

Nothing says ball-a like being chased after by a waitress to pay your one drink bill even though you paid her 10 minutes before. That’s how I roll. Came on a Friday to check it out and instead found a door girl who seemed to hate her life and enough douche bags to fill an entire tub of douche. A douche tub.

The type of sports bar Red Card wishes they were. TV screens everywhere showing the game you actually want to watch, not championship darts from Wales. You can’t turn around 360 degrees without seeing a big screen TV. A large group of us went there for be 2nd game of the play-offs and despite the rabid hockey fever the waiting staff was quite prompt and attentive, but mildly snarky at times, but I’ll let that slide due to the absolute chaos that was going on at the time. The food was typical pub fare, burgers and fries, what you want at a sports bar not lobster and butternut squash ravioli, once again take note Red Card. Pretty decent quality though, on par with some of the other chain restaurants such as Cactus Club and Earl’s but a little bit on the pricey side for what the food actually was. All in all the Forum has quite the potential and hopefully knock the over-rated Shark club off its throne as the number one sports bar in downtown Vancouver.

I decided to give the Forum another chance on the weekend. I nearly laughed when as soon as we walked in a server came over and took our order straight away. This server looked after us really well all night and we didn’t have to wait for drinks at all. Such a big improvement from my last visit so I am more than happy to update my review. The main draw for this place as others have said is that although it is a sports bar with televisions plastered everywhere, the other design elements make it feel a touch more upscale. I wonder if the $ 10 cover will last after the Olympics, I hope not.
