Description

Spécialités

The Slocan is all about tasty classic American dishes reminiscent of great dinners at home. Like all greasy spoons born in the 1970’s, The Slocan is a secret Greek Diner as well! Whatever dish you choose, its all good, made with love and at a great price. We know our neighbors work for a living and we always aim to serve big portions too! Come see our new bar

Historique

Fondé en 1974.

The Slocan was born in 1974 and has been owned by 5 Greek guys along way… Peter, Peter, John, Gus and now Tasoe! As the current guy, I feel The Slocan is owned by its customers and I am simply a custodian. A landmark of the neighborhood, decades of families, longshoreman, police fire ambulance personell, hockey stars, plumbers, politicians etc have all passed through and continue to patronize us! All I want to do is feed you well!

Rencontrer le Gérant de commerce

Tasoe T.

Gérant de commerce

Tasoe grew up in Kitsilano, the neighborhood where Greeks first immigrated to in Vancouver. The Italians went to Commercial, where the action was. The Greeks just wanted to be near the beach… and it was cheaper back then also! Having worked in restaurants and bars for most of his life he returned full time a few years back and also owns The Main on Main, a fun neighborhood joint with live music and Mediteranean-American cuisine also in East Van in Riley Park.
