Spécialités

The Eiffel Tower opened its doors November 15, 1955 and has been creating delicious sweets ever since! We were the first bakery in Winnipeg to make Black Forest, and our whipped cream tortes remain some of our best sellers. Our most popular items include Millefeuilles made with homemade puff pastry and custard, and our hand-​sculpted 3D shape cakes. We also offer cold catering for larger gatherings, including point and rolled sandwiches.

Historique

Fondé en 1955.

The Eiffel Tower was opened in 1955 by a couple from Toulouse, France. We were originally located in the North End of Winnipeg, but have since relocated to our current premises on Pembina Hwy.

I ordered a tiered style custom cake for my daughter’s baptism and it was very disappointing. It was flavorless. The cake itself was light and fluffy which would have been fantastic if it didn’t taste like whipped styrofoam. I’ve heard rave reviews about their cakes but I wouldn’t ever order a custom cake from them again.

The cakes are well priced here as many are under $ 20 so definitely less than a lot of the bakeries around town but costs a bit more than a Safeway or Sobey’s cake. There were a lot of shortbread and small cookies for under $ 1 each here.
We ordered a cartoon character birthday cake for my niece and unfortunately the entire cake was overly sweet (and not in a good way). The cake was very pretty and beautifully decorated but the cake was hard to eat because it tasted like pure sugar. I am not a big sweets fan but other people who love sweets thought it was too much. Though the cake was only $ 18, a good price for a very cute cake so whatever, it was good for pictures and my niece was happy. We’ve only tried the one cake here and I heard that the red velvet is a very popular cake so I’ll give them another chance sometime in the future. The owner was super nice and no pun intended — is super sweet so I’d go back and try another item that will hopefully redeem this place.
Parking is on Pembina during non-​rush hour times or behind the store or on the side.

I was sent an Eiffel Tower cheesecake as a gift and oh my god, it’s the best cheesecake I’ve ever had.
It was chocolate cheesecake on a chocolate crumb base, with chocolate whipped cream and chocolate designs over the cream. TO DIE FOR!
The cheesecake was the perfect density, good and heavy but not overly so and exactly as moist as baked cheesecake should be — not dry but not sticky and gooey. The crust was perfect and the whipped cream complimented the cheesecake beautifully.
The presentation was also superb — it was a beautiful thing to look at (till we destroyed it anyway.)
I wish I had a slice right now, but alas, it’s long gone. It was a big cake but sure didn’t last long around here.
