This is my seven year old son’s review of Meiji Sushi: This restaurant was very good. Meiji Sushi. They have holes in the floor under the tables. You put your feet in them.

Fun date spot. A nice selection of tasty drinks, and the wait staff are friendly/cool to talk to. Sushi is good, nothing special but not bad either. Atmosphere is sexy, perfect for romance and dressing cute. A little pricey, but worth it.

Still love the marinated spicy tuna here. Love the martinis and the fact that they serve sushi till 1 am on Fri and Sat. G Martini, upstairs is loud and packed late in the night whereas if you want to have a more quiet chill atmosphere to enjoy your martini, you can still do it but in the restaurant’s lounge section. Don’t love the washrooms that are accessed outside of the restaurant of Meiji and part of the larger building. It’s has a strong smell. It’s that industrial cleaner stuff that makes you think«washroom.» So just eat and go. LOL.

Service — very good, price — what we were expecting, the food was just not up to what I was hoping for. However the Brown Banana was really good. In the end the common area on the way to the restaurant could use some fixing up and cleaning up(it stank) the restaurant seemed dated but OK. In the end a great place to stop for neat drinks and some OK sushi and spend some time with friends, and if that comes up I will be back.

I like the building this was in and the seating — you kneel on pillows, although there is a space under the table if you don’t want your feet to fall asleep. :) The servers were all very nice, and the sushi was fine. We got our orders quickly, although I did note that the people who prepared our sushi didn’t really seem too… professional? I don’t want to say anything too disparaging, so I’ll say that if you are looking for a well-trained sushi chef, head over to Edohei. This shouldn’t matter much if you’re going to be ordering the rolls. Sometimes you feel like great sashimi or omakase, but sometimes you just want a nice meal of interesting sushi rolls. If you’re in the mood for the latter, Meiji is a good choice. :)
