The small August B, nestled as it is in the corner of the National Theatre facing Magasin, is actually one of my favourite cafes in Copenhagen. Not because of a superior ambiance, as it does have a touch of theatre foyer to it, but because it just reeks(in the best way possible) of all the positive things of its symbiosis with the theatre. Food is good, though the selection is limited. And they serve one heck of an espresso, one of the best in town. They have refills of their plain coffee, and all of their furniture is sort of 1960s retro. Oh, and the décor is old posters and programs from the theatre, coupled with workout ballet shoes from the ballet academy that is also in the building. What’s not to love? There’s fairly easy access for baby prams and wheelchairs through the theatre lobby, and they even have wifi. Yes, I’m a fan!
