This café is a several block walk from our hotel. The hotel desk clerk had told us there was a street of cafes there. You enter down a sort flight of stairs. There is another dining room up a spiral staircase. We sat at a table in front of the doorway and looked at the menu. There was a trio of open faced sandwiches that interested me, but Alan was concerned about the ham in the trio and proposed we each order the trio and he give me his ham. I had seen some huge sandwiches coming out on what looked like French rolls and couldn’t see eating that much, so I ended up ordering a Greek salad and Alan ordered the sandwich trio, substituting another shrimp and egg salad sandwich for the ham. When the sandwiches came, instead of being on the bread I had seen, they were on small pieces of the lovely dense, whole grain Danish bread, which I would have loved. My salad was a good size portion, w/small dices of a mild feta, lots of small olives w/pits, some tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions along w/romaine lettuce, w/some slices of lemon to squeeze for dressing. It was pretty good, although I make a better one. Alan ate the shrimp and egg sandwiches and left the turkey, which had a large blob of what looked like mayonnaise and something on it. I had some Earl Grey tea and he had water. Once we left the café, we saw the street of restaurants across the canal. There would have been more choices had we gone over there, but this did the job.

Eher was für Optimisten. ;-)

Klein aber fein. Der Service multilingual und die spärliche Karte bot dennoch ausgefallene Snacks.
