Small cozy and intimate atmosphere and the wait staff was awesome. We sat down and she said that they were running at about 30 min for food. We ordered quickly and when the food came it was DEFIANTLY worth the wait. I had the Hawaiian and it was crispy and just the right sweetness. I will defiantly recommend going again… even when they only have one chef!

When you order an 80 kr takeaway pizza, you expect to get a meal of a certain size… it’s something most of us have done a million times. You might there say there’s even a certain kind of trust between pizza buyer and pizza seller in terms of what you expect to get. Well Gorm’s decided to break the mold and instead make a pizza that is about half the size of conventional pizzas, even smaller than ordinary child size. When you pick up your order is when you get the first sign something’s up. The box is on the small end of the scale. But when you feel the pie inside is shifting the center of gravity around, you realize things are not as they should be. You open the box warily to see a quiche lorraine sized pie that makes even the box look huge in comparison. Going so far from the expectation of what a pizza is, an expectation built up by other pizzerias, Gorm’s might have advertised this fact a bit better. Neither the website menu, the phone call order, nor the price helps you become aware of the small size.

Excellent, thin crust, creative pizzas. Had the Gorms Hottie(spicy!) and the Asahi Bianco. Very tasty. Ordered these to go, so can’t judge service or ambience.

I can see why Gorm’s gets such good reviews. Probably amongst the best pizza I have ever had. I would highly recommend Denny’s Special pizza and even the Margherita was terrific. If you have space, their Tiramisu with berries is also to die for.

We were told that Gorm’s was the best pizza in Denmark, and since I am a pizza nut, we went. We are Americans, and I know there’s some awful pizza in our own country, but I am a professional chef who teaches artisan bread and pizza classes and built a pizza oven in my back yard, so please don’t think I’m looking for Domino’s here.) Gorm’s was terrible. The crust was thin, but like a cracker, and reminded me of nothing so much as a large loaf of pita bread that had been baked a little too long. There was a gaping hole in the center of the dough, exactly like pita bread. Proper pizza is thin, but with a network of irregular air bubbles in the cornice, not a pita chip. The toppings were extremely minimal. A great pizza should be all about the crust, not the toppings, but this was going too far. My husband’s margherita was adequately seasoned(though the cheese and other toppings were very scant), but my chanterelles(exactly seven small pieces arranged like distant hamlets across a barren landscape) were half-raw and completely untouched by salt. I asked for salt, used it liberally, ate all the portions of the pizza that were topped with anything(there were huge lumps of bare bread across the surface) and called it a day. My sister-in-law ordered glazed carrots, which were very good(if a little too much like dessert!) My nephew ordered the cheese selection and got a bowlful of chilly brie.

My husband and I came to Copenhagen on vacation and had lunch here. It was very pricey($ 80US) We loved the margarita pizza but the side salad of vegetables was delicious too. Fresh baby romaine lettuce with true baby carrots(not the packaged, machine generated ones) and yummy fresh garden peas in a light vinaigrette

There are a few Gorm’s around Copenhagen. This is right on the Nyhavn. It was soooo gooood. We ordered the special of 300dkk per person. They kept bringing out apps and pizzas until we asked them to stop. We ate a lot! Everything was great except the roe. Highly recommend thos place. If you have more than 2 in your party, there is no outisde seating though.

Can’t say enough about Gorm himself and his restaurant. My friends and I met him out one night while on vacation and after telling us about his restaurant, we decided to go have dinner there the next night. The food was delicious — we had several of the appetizers on the menu and tried three of the pizzas. I love goat cheese so the Denny Special was my favorite. The ambience was very warm and cozy and the service was good as well too. If I’m ever back in the city, I’ll definitely eat at Gorm’s again.

Break on through to the other side, just a tiny bridge away from the crowds of Nyhavn there is The Other Side of Nyhavn: quiet, romantic, a world away but essentially the same. I have always wondered why oh why this duality. No that I want it to change, I like it just the way it is. So before the new bridge gets finally open, visit Nyhavn 14, another brainchild of master pizza maker Gorm Wisweh. All pizzas are a true treat, made with from dough that has been lovingly worked, leavened and baked to perfection. The signature toppings are respectful, but very creative interpretations of the flavors of Italy(potato, rosemary and truffle oil, anyone?). Of course if you are not feeling like pizza, there is also a small osteria type of offering with featured handmade pasta — sounds divine but I’m hooked on the pizza. Good wine selection and very cozy ambiance. I personally love the vintage italian pictures hanging on the walls and the candlelight. So beat the crowds, eat one of my favorite pizzas in the world and top up with a mango sorbet from the Hansens right down the street. Prego!
