The open faced cheese bread is amazing and the bruschetta is piled high with tomato with lots of garlic. Definitely a great spot to grab a bite to eat. The staff was very friendly as well!

I don’t like to hang out in and around Nyhavn because the tourist aspect drives up the prices and lowers expectations, so it is more of a shock to find something nice than something average. No surprises here, just mediocre food and a place to rest your feet. The ‘brunch’ was standard with 3 slices of toast, 3 slices of chorizo, 3 slices of anonymous cheese, a soft-boiled egg, and yogurt with muesli. With a coffee, it costs 95 dkk. The egg was cooked nicely and the yogurt was good, but the crust on the bread was too hard in some places so I had to pick some of it off because it was tearing up my mouth. Without a drink, the brunch alone costs 75 dkk. As Rene mentions, it lacked a little something extra and it took a long time to get this simple plate together. Granted, there was only one lady doing that and another one taking orders and making all the coffees, but they were expecting our group well in advance and should have planned accordingly. They were able to make me a latte with soy milk which was fine. The interior is charming but it looks like someone was in the middle of sanding down the walls and forgot to finish, much less repaint. If you are an unadventurous tourist, this is a good place to visit for a hot drink and toilet visit, plus the servers seemingly speak only English. The sandwiches looked better than what we had, so maybe go for that. I’ll certainly get my brunch elsewhere.

Went to Holberg No 19 with a big group on a Sunday morning. Eventhough they did know, that we came 15 hungry people, they haven’t even put tables together. In advance they also had known, that we were to eat. Not a thing of the food were prepared. It took aged to get served. The food was okay, but nothing more. It lacked something extra, may some fresh fruit or olives. The food was only a 3 star thing and the service a 2 star thing. I will probably never come at Holberg No 19 again.

Very cute and cozy café near Nyhavn. The atmosphere is very relaxed and laid-back, I especially enjoyed the selection of music. You can get sandwiches and salads here, as well as a selection of beers, wines, and long drinks. The coffee was really good, and prices are totally reasonable. I’d come back here!

Cosy low-key italian /spanish inspired café for local inhabitants right next to Nyhavn. A small but varied selection of salads and sandwiches. Cheap compared to Nyhavn also the coffee/cappuccino made italian style with the special foam and cantuccini on the side. Has seats inside and outside. People sit on computers or are reading books. Not the best acoustic, not the newest furniture or decoration, nothing fancy about the servings, but tasty perfectly sized portions with ingredients of good quality. Would recommend any time.

Cool place, good location, and just right off the tourist traps near Nyhavn. Prices were reasonable, with a decent selection of sandwiches and your standard coffee fare. It has a nice warm feeling as you come in, with plenty of windows and natural light as it’s on a corner location. We ordered a couple of grilled panini sandwiches, which, although were not so elegantly presented, were quite yummy nonetheless. The lady behind the counter seemed like she was having a bad day, but she was quite cordial(to say it nicely).

This place was perfect for us! The chef/waiter/maitre’d was friendly, helpful, and made an amazing sandwich. We arrived at 5 because we were hungry at 5 and they were open and serving(lunch places close at 3 and dinner places open at 5:30) when we return to Copenhagen, we will return!

Great café near Nyhavn serving up traditional café-fare. Great hearty sandwiches. Wide variety of beverages(tea, espresso, latte, coffee, softdrinks) as well as wine and other spirits. Part of Holberg 9’s charm is its lively American owner/operator, a level headed ringmaster offering an inside view on life in Copenhagen on a busy city corner while keeping a cheerful attitude. We’ve never felt so welcomed.

Nice place with good value for money sandwiches. You have to order at the bar and pick up your food yourself. Food here is pretty healthy and fresh and water is complimentary. Service could be a bit better and toilet a bit cleaner though. Would be better if you could even flush it too… But heck, you’re probably here for the sandwiches and those are good. Wouldn’t order more then one cause they are pretty big compared to «regular» ones. Enjoy and don’t forget the free water… You have to get it yourself.

Very friendly staff. English menus. Simple and very good panini, this is a good place to stop on a cold day to get warm and eat. Recommended!
