Best meal in Copenhagen! Had this on our first night and it was everything I had hoped for in this Danish dish. Just for future reference, if pork + potatoes are on the menu I’ll be there. Like, I’ll leave a cloud of dust where I was standing because I’ll be gone so quick. For a Friday night, this venue was fairly quiet. The service was lovely, English speaking(most people do speak English quite well here actually), wine selection was limited but good and the food, oh my god the food! The serving sizes are HUGE. This does not diminish the quality in any way. I had the pork, done differently from any way I’ve ever had it, but delicious all the same. I’m sure the official dish of Denmark is pork with potato and parsley sauce and this place delivers. Cut thinly and deep fried, each pork slice was incredibly crispy and well salted. Potatoes boiled to perfection along with a little bowl of chopped beetroot. With the amount of parsley sauce provided I could have gone swimming I’m it, it was insane! My partner had the classic roast beef served with boiled potatoes, peas, carrots, mushrooms, cooked cocktail onion and loganberry jam. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time where I just alternated between crispy pork with parsley sauce and boiled potatoes. And when I was full? Well I just kept eating anyway. I never wanted this meal to end. We finished with a traditional Danish apple dish, sort of like a crumble. The apples were well flavoured and a nice way to finish the meal. A must go people! Pricing was decent in my view, with 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 mains and dessert the total cost came to just under £40. Well worth it!

Søpromenaden serve fair priced well prepared Danish comfort food. Are you tired of New Nordic Cuisine, and do you want to try the real deal? They serve lunch and dinner, and you can get most of the dishes your great grandmother will have served you at a Sunday. It is not advanced cooking. It’s just cooked as for decades in the small kitchen in Denmark. Dish sizes are like at you great grandmother, and you can easily settle with a main dish. Main courses are served on dishes, so everyone just dig in. It’s a very familiar vipe. Service is great, polite and cheeky in the same time. You might have to wait a bite, if they have a fully booked restaurant.

I had a great time here. The«roast pork with parsley sauce» is completely un-related to any English or American type of roast pork I’ve ever come across, but it’s just a quirk of the Danish-English translation. In reality, it is fried slabs of pork belly with the skin attached. It is fried to that delicious crisp, hardness that you only get with super fatty meats. It’s artery-clogging, sweat-inducing, fried pork heaven. Just don’t expect«roast pork». We also ordered the wienerschnitzel, which for Kr 169 was probably enough to feed two people. The food comes out and is served table-side. Extra potatoes, peas, and sides which don’t fit on your plate are left on small round tables brought up to the main table. I really liked all the sides and especially the little dishes of pickles and pickled beats that came with the meal. We went late on a Sunday night and the service was fun, personable, and very friendly. Being indecisive about beer, we were offered beer samples to try before deciding which ones we wanted. It’s always nice to be offered these little things which make a restaurant experience extra nice.
