It’s one of those places where you go «meh» over it. Nothing good, nothing bad. Maybe they are out of focus on what they should do, or maybe they just target clueless tourists who think they’re so cool for straying outside the cattle-thronged path called Strøget. The place is ok enough, cozy with lots of nice seats, but there’s nothing special about the food whatsoever, never mind the drinks. Maybe if you absolutely have no time to go anywhere else and you acutely need coffee, this place might be an option, but do yourself a favour and head to other cafes that have better ratings here on Unilocal. Even Paludan is much nicer than this place, and with friendlier price as well.

A café in the heart of Copenhagen and by that I mean very close to the stork fountains and strøget. The café is on a parallel street of Strøget and is good for an after shopping bite. It’s a quite popular place because of its location, hence be prepared to struggle for a table. I have been multiple times here on different occasions and still can’t say I love it. There are some things that are a bit slow, like ordering or trying to pay. The fact that the café is popular comes with the negative side that the service is slow due to the high amount of customers. You need to be patient or lucky! Regarding the food, well it’s more or less the typical café menu with nachos, burgers, sandwiches etc. The portions are quite large but it’s nothing too spectacular! I like the fact that in the summer you can sit outside and enjoy the passing people. The interior of the café is ok nice but the tables are a little too close to each other for my taste. It’s a safe place to go when in the centre, however will never be one of my favourite hang outs!

Despite their problem with meat temperature(is one over), they serve a quite decent food and fair prices. When you see the menu, you realise that is a mix of whatever, so they are actually trying to cover all ranges of tastes. Some may say that is lack of character. Let’s face the facts though: it’s the definition of the so-called«touristic» establishments. Their advantage compare to similar places is the quality of food. I haven’t of course tried everything, but I was satisfied of what I had. Not amazed though. It’s a very safe option in while you’re in the centre.

I tend to frequent the same places rather often — maybe I’m boring, or maybe I just like a bit of consistency. That being said, Zirup is an overall nice place to eat, with good menu options, indoor and outdoor seating, and a convenient location. I guess the menu hasn’t changed in years, but oh well. I’ll gladly go back for a casual bite to eat.

I think this place captures word hygge very well. The ambiance was warm and the candles are just the right touch to this place. I came here for dinner with my danish class and had the beef bourguignon. The meat was very tender and the mashed potatoes were the softest I’ve had. The gravy sauce wasn’t too heavy with it. The meal was very filling and it was a rather big portion. I love the atmosphere here. Great place for a date or a get together with friends.

we had a table for 10 reserved, they had our table at the back of the restaurant. There were a lot of customers, and looked like the main restaurant was full. It took them for ever for them to come get our drink order and appetizers. Once we placed our orders for beer they came quickly. In europe servers don’t work for tips but they are on salary, so they have no incentive to give you the service you deserve. In Denmark every restaurant is super expensive. You can expect to pay an average of(195 kr) $ 40 for a burger, and burger is the cheapest entrée on the menu, beer will run you around(58 kr) around $ 12 on average, so eating out in DK is expensive. That said this restaurant was around average for prices, and above average for food quality. But as everywhere else in Europe, services sucks.
