Alcampo

This may be one of the greatest places to get lost in ever.
Better than Home Depot because Alcampo has 2 floors of pure cool stuff to daydream at.
It’s like Carfour and better than Costco.
Be sure to get stocked up on saturday because they are closed on sunday!

In my opinion, part of the fun of being in another country is experiencing what daily life is like. it’s fun to browse the aisles and see all the things you never heard of stacked up in aisles. Only problem is this place is huge! you can easily spend two hours here like I did. I highly recommend coming here and stocking up before you shop elsewhere. We stayed in Bari Gothic and the prices here were less than half of the stores in our neighborhood. Good quality Jamon, and cheese. Instead of buying lame souvenirs I bought a bunch of cava and canned seafood for making tapas back home.

Der Alcampo-​Markt im riesigen Einkaufszentrum Diagonal Mar (Bericht folgt) bietet im Untergeschoss einen gewaltigen Supermarkt mit allerlei Lebensmitteln und einem sehr breiten Sortiment an nationalen und internationalen Marken. Hier gibt es alles. Schön ist der Einpackservice an der Kasse, den ich so in fast keinem anderen Markt gesehen habe. Die Kassiererin packt alle eingescannten Waren direkt in eine Tüte, die dann über ein weiteres Fließband weiterrollt bis an eine Stelle hinter der Kasse wo der Kunde seine Tüten aufnimmt. Sehr elegant gelöst.
Ich habe dort auch erstmals stärkere, wiederverwendbare Tüten gesehen, die man kaufen kann. So langsam setzt auch in Spanien der Trend zu Jute statt Plastik ein. ;)
Im oberen Geschoss bietet der Markt alle Non-​Food Artikel an und das reicht von Textilien und Schuhe über Sportartikel und Kosmetika hin zu Gartenmöbel. Ein sehr breites Sortiment an Waren also.
