Upscale tapas and the best we had in Barcelona. This place was recommended to us by a couple we met in Lucerne. Very glad we went. Great location. Very busy. Great food. High quality ingredients that are well prepared with attention to presentation.

We had a great time for dinner Saturday night. The atmosphere was classic wine bar, great wine, full of people and energy. We loved our server, Francesco. The tapas were very good. We started with the mixed meat and mixed cheese platters, and a wine recommended by our server who spoke good English. Prices were higher than many places we had eaten, but still very reasonable given the excellent wine and higher quality tapas. We then shared 4 dishes that were interesting/fun, all seafood based. The experience was our best in 3 night stay in Barcelona. Our party of 4 sat at a long wooden table in the back by one of the wine racks. Another party of 8 were also seated at our table, like most of the patrons, there lived in Barcelona. I think it’s best to have a reservation since the place was totally full by 9:30pm and still that way at midnight.

Literally the best place ever. If you love natural wine, it’s a must try. Food and service is amazing. Wine list is unbeatable

My friends were here every other night, and I popped in for a drink a couple times. Tonight I ordered food at the bar before a couple people showed up. It was busy in a weekend buzz way, very lively atmosphere. Bar Brutal is the rear half of Can Cisa, the street accessible bodega in the front. The wines are small producers, biodynamic and organic. I went with the bartenders’ choice. The first was a crisp Asturian cider, then a sparkling rose cava, then a Trebbiano blend. The tapas were out of this world. I had the canned tuna belly, mortadella like I’ve never tasted, and the creamiest burrata with grape tomatoes and olive oil. The staff are very casual, friendly, and they know their stuff. We got complimentary asparagus with smoked duck egg for being so easygoing. Everything was amazing, and you don’t notice time passing. Service flows, if you’re hanging out, and it’s a good place to go without a plan.

Ok so this is the deal. The food is excellent. The seafood is so fresh and the preparation is too. I had the roasted octopus with potatoes. It’s a cold dish but truly outstanding. At around 9:30pm they had a delivery of fresh shrimps so I took those as well which were lightly grilled with a drizzle of olive oil and salt. Honestly I can’t remember a time, since Sicily last year, when I ate shrimps so delicious and sweet. The wines are organic and great and the people were very kind.

The worst. Don’t get the appeal as it’s just full of tourists who are willing to pay these crazy expensive prices. Staff are über annoying, disorganized, and arrogant. I guess this just keeps getting written up because they probably pay for advertising and everything else has already been covered to death in Barcelona. But seriously avoid it if you want to hang to your euros and want to have an enjoyable time in Barcelona because you won’t find it here. Not going back like ever.

This is a cute little tapas bar/wine bar/bottle shop. We were window shopping and stopped in for a glass of wine. The music is good and decore is interesting. We were there when the kitchen was closed, so we didn’t have a chance to try the food.
