This is a generic Cinco Jotas review as i went to two in Barcelona(one at the rooftop of a mall and another on a popular major street where you could sit in a terrace in the middle of the street). I enjoy Cinco Jotas. It is a nicer(but still inexpensive for North American standards) establishment serving solid food. i find food in spain can be a bit inconsistent(the romantic ideal of tapas doesn’t always translate to execution) but Cinco Jotas does it consistently and I’m happy to pay closer to north american prices for the beautiful settings and enjoyable meals. And of course this is one of the venues(amongst many) where my love for Jamón ibérico de bellota was born. oh the dangers of travelling ;)

Bad service, overcooked meat! Sorry ass«grill mix», expensive. The staff was really uninterested and impolite. The meat that we ordered especially«medium rare» was overcooked and dry. What they call«parrillada»(grill mix) is supposed to have a combination of meat, sausages, etc had 2 sorts of dry meat… Hardly«parrillada»!!! The place looks good, a new chef and new waiters would be a good idea. Go somewhere else!

Our tour guide recommended Cinco Jotas(5J or Quinto Quinta) for our arrival dinner in Barcelona. It is one of the many fine restaurants on the rooftop of the Arenas, the converted bullfighting stadium. They have a large seating area inside and outside, very decorative lights, and an open kitchen inside. Many dishes specialize use their signature Iberian acorn-fed pork. Food and service was outstanding. The mixed grilled pork plate(28 € for two) had a number of grilled pork items(shoulder, back, legs) that all had a nice outer sear, and varying degrees of juiciness and texture. We ordered medium cooked, and could of sworn some of the pieces tasted like grilled beef steak! We also didn’t know the combo came with fries and salads for each of us, so we wound up getting too many apps. Steamed Cockles(Mussels) were mostly plump, juicy, and fresh(just 2 out of say 15 – 20 didn’t open). Preparation was simple — it looks like they were steamed with just fresh lemon to enable you to taste the freshness and natural salinity of the mussels. Tomato flatbread was just OK — we totally forgot to add their EVOO and Vinegar which were discreetly located at the end of our table. Desserts were wonderful. My wife enjoyed her Catalonia Crème Brulee, which came in a cocktail glass with some clear liquor(brandy?), topped with a light cream on top. Similar to the Valencian Cream we had the day before, this dessert was also very light and sweet — almost like eating crème brûlée but without the heaviness of egg yolks. The waitress instructed us to dip the spoon all the way down! The other dessert was chocolate fondant with cinnamon-banana ice cream which was also very good. It came with these really tiny tomatoes that gave a sharp burst of tangy flavor(like a cranberry). Definitely recommend Cinco Jutas if you happen to be meat eaters, since they seem expert at grilled pork. All the servers speak English and its really a festive restaurant.

Saw this place on the Food Network… Awesome Iberic ham and the steak was to die for.

We came in a group of 8. We were quickly seated at the bar. We tried a bit of everything and it was all so delicious.

We are tourist from the US and decided to have dinner at the 5j since the restaurant was beautiful and the food looked great. We quickly learned that the service is not intended for tourist(Americans) since the servers were somewhat rude and were not as attentive as expected. Reading all other reviews we now somewhat understand the culture. The food was tasty just a little expensive for the portions.

I stumbled upon cinco jotas late on a friday night after visiting font Magica nearby. This restaurant is located atop the cinema in the arenas de Barcelona high rise near placa de espanya. You must ride the elevator or escalator to the top floor to get here. After walking around and glancing at the many restaurants on the rooftop, I was drawn in by the cool chill house music coming from the dj on the patio so had to check this particular place out. We sat on the screened in lanai area and asked the server for a menu. He informed us the kitchen was already closed at 11:30! Boo! But the bar was still open, so we ordered sangria. When it FINALLY arrived 15 minutes later, it was delicious. Very well made and quite a large glass, so no complaints there. Overall we really enjoyed spending time here listening to music, people watching and enjoying our drinks. I did deduct 1 star for lack of food and the lackadaisical service from our turtle stuck in molasses speed server. If you go here just be patient!

No reviews on this restaurant. Not sure how long they have been open but it is located on the top floor of a shopping mall. Amazing views all around you of the entire city of Barcelona. It seemed to be a touristy area. We decided to have dinner here as we were exhausted from walking all day. Lovely décor, friendly staff. They were very busy the night we came but luckily we got seated immediately. I learned one thing dining out in Barcelona. Sit, relax, and do not rush. People who live here are very chill, no rushing and don’t expect your server to be at your table every five minutes. We started with Sangria’s. OMG, huge glass filled with fresh fruit, dry not sweet. Oh my I could not have enough. They were the BEST sangria’s I have ever drank. I ordered a fresh salad with goat cheese, apples, and pecans. Hubby ordered Paella. The food was ok. Hubs was not impressed with the Paella. It was good and he ate most of it. More on the boring side with not much flavor. Our service was decent although it took us 20 minutes to pay our bill. Touristy area, this restaurant is all about the décor and view. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but worth checking out if your visiting the mall. It was the busiest restaurant out of them all. They deserve four stars for their amazing delicious Sangria’s. I’m still dreaming about them.
