The Paella is outstanding. Fruta de mar are fresh and the flavors natural and not oversalted.

We stopped in based on previous Unilocal reviews. We had sangria and calamari to start with. It was good. The shellfish paella was great. Far better than at Bodega Monumental down the way. The waiter Tony served the paella with flair. I would definitely return. The guide had recommended Monumental, however the server on the previous night seemed very put out serving us. Never there again! Portonovo Silvestre for me.

Found on Unilocal while visiting Barcelona. This place is beautiful inside, the locals hang out there, and this is the type of restaurant I wanted to see while visiting spain. Try the Paella! Crispy bottom, Delicious! I was in Spain for 8 days and tried Paella almost every night and nothing came close to what they had served me. Awesome meats that u can sample and buy, and if they don’t have it they have a sister meat market down the block where they will cut and seal for you. if and when I go back to Barcelona this is my first spot for drinks, Tapas, Paella!

Great paella and good prices on wine. Went for lunch and got the last seat, seemed to be mostly locals.

Phenomenal paellas! We had a one person paella each(one shellfish and one mix). Both were phenomenal. Great tasting and perfectly cooked. The service could’ve been a bit better, but still 5 stars. Very happy we went!

Beurk!

We couldn’t find the restaurant recommended by our hotel, so we selected Portonovo Silvestre on the basis of the atmosphere. We chose to eat outside, which was noisy with the traffic, but we got to watch all the comings and goings. The waiters were both gruff and good-humored. I ordered Gazpacho, which was the traditional one of Southern Spain, thick and«creamy» rather than the bright red chunky version we usually see in the US. We also ordered Patatas Bravas, which were quite spicy and 2 plates of Jamon Iberico(one would have been enough). They also brought the ubiquitous Tomato Bread. All our items had a rustic or country feel. Not sophisticated, just solid honest food.

Not the best place in Barcelona but a cool place none the less. The staff is patient and nice. The food is OK but you can find better deals off the main drag. The people watching on a sunday from here is excellent. I picked this place from all the spots lined up on the street as it spoke to me the most.

Found this place on a quiet afternoon. The streets were empty so we knew it wasn’t the local dinner time yet. Regardless, they were open for dinner and happily led us in. Since we just got off the plane an hour ago, we were yearning for authentic spanish food. So we ordered the the seafood paella, a pitcher of sangria, spanish quiche, calamari, and jamon. Sounds like a lot huh? Well, our group is 2 guys and 2 girls but the 2 girls can eat as much as the guys. Seafood paella — Presentation looks really nice. Photo perfect in my eyes. Since I’m surrounding by tasty choices in SF, I’m a little spoiled and would say this paella is pretty good but not mind blowing. Like I said, it could be because I’m always around excellent food choices in SF that my standards are really high for paella. The seafood paella can feed 4 people so don’t be fooled by the menu when it says it serves 2. Jamon and bread — I’m a fan of pepperoni and salami so jamon is definitely up my alley. Calamari — Not too oily and not too much batter so that’s a good thing. Quiche — Unsure of the name but it’s potato-y(friend ordered it). I’ll pass on this one if I were you. Not too much taste and you’re better off carbing up with jamon and bread.

The food was good, but the waiter we had was excellent. He was patient with us while we tried to ask questions in broken Spanish and he tried to answer in a mostly non-English. I’d left the restaurant without my bag of souvenirs — he came racing down the street after us with the bag — we really appreciated that! On to the food: The seemingly ubiquitous tomato-topped bread was pretty average, so we were a little worried from the start. However, we ordered the massive tray of miscellaneous grilled meats and veggies(two of us – for the record, it probably could have fed 3 or 4). The goat, rabbit, and chicken were all cooked perfectly, and the veggies were tasty, too.

The place is on a busy street, don’t eat on the sidewalk. The tomato bread tasted like strawberry jam on stale bread. The Paella had unpeeled shrimp and prawns, tiny clams but good mussels.

The ham is salty and excellent. It’s around the corner from the national art gallery, which makes it a good place for lunch and a cold drink after visiting the gallery and the park.

Nice little restaurant. They serve decent food for a good price. The meals varies from tapas to mixed spanish meat and seafood dishes like steaks or paellas.

Carnes, pescados, mariscos, verduras… Todo está estupendo!!! Mi plato preferido: Pulpo a feira.

Jamones, chorizo, tapitas, vino, cerveza, caña, quintos, botellines,…
