Incredible restaurant experience! From ringing a doorbell to gain admittance, the ambiance makes you feel like you’re in a really beautiful home or even castle or mansion with antiques everywhere and beautiful décor. Loved so much about this dining experience: wait staff, BYOB with no problem; sharing plates— for every appetizer or entrée one person ordered, an «extra» portion was placed on the table for the other five of us to taste! Loved meeting Mr. And Mrs Greco as we were leaving. Great experience though some of the cream sauces started tasting the same, but maybe we ordered too many cream sauce dishes.

Un sitio al que asistí en la ultima comida de navidad de la empresa. La decoración extravagante, barroca, y tan artística es la primera cosa que llama la atención, repleto de estatuas de arte clásico, greco romano, neoclásico y barroco. Tiene tambien cuadros, ornamentaciones, y detalles artísticos interesantes pero que en cierta manera le dan elegancia y personalidad, aunque para mi gusto es algo carca y recargado.
Pero vamos a lo realmente importante, el cuidado servicio (estaban mucho por nosotros, nos servían y preguntaban con frecuencia, y siempre muy amables) y la más que interesante y destacada cocina. Tiene algunos platos que no son ninguna birguería pero con cierto refinamiento, como las tostadas con fua (es demasiado suave para mi gusto), otros más bastos como las raciones de aperitivo de mortadela, pero en todo caso manteniendo un mínimo de calidad. Lo que menos me gustó es el roast beef con mostaza de Dijon. Pero la estrella son sus platos de pasta. en su característico y llamativo sistema de degustación de tres platos. La verdad es que me impresionó mucho, un sitio donde en el menu te dan 3 platos de pasta seguidos, y con una ración más que generosa para tratarse de un menu de degustación. Para mi todo un lujo, mi niño interior alegre con semejante despliegue de platos se pasa por el forro el tema dietético por lo que a exceso de carbohidratos se refiere. Es una buena oportunidad para probar diferentes salsas. Lo curioso es que los dos primeros la pasta era muy parecida casi la misma, aunque variaba el relleno, y como le daban un tratamiento completamente diferente a través de éste y la salsa. El primero fue el mejor y más espectacular unos rabioli a los 3 quesos, supercremosos, con un aroma mágnifico y potentísimo, y un sabor de aplaudir. El segundo no tan bueno, pero curioso con una salsa muy suave con albahaca, y el tercero con unos macarrones muy curiosos por lo finos y pequeños que eran, a la rabiata, que picaba un poco. La verdad es que tenian que haber acabado con el mejor, dejar para final el primero que sirvieron.
Pero el rey de todos los platos tengo que decir que casualmente no fue ninguno de los platos comentados, sino un plato que estaba de acompañamiento, como si de un complemento, al lado de cualquier otro aperitio que iban sirviendo. La verdad es que es asi, pero fue lo mejor. Estoy hablando del risotto de queso. Espectacular, increible, de los risottos mas sabrosos y cremosos que he probado nunca. Casi al nivel del risotto de mi querido Tagliatella. Solo por el, quizás vuelva algun día. Excelente!

Quizás lo mejor de este restaurante es la atención. Aunque sin duda la comida es muy buena, no lo recomiendo por ella sino por la experiencia. Además, se toman la delicadeza de traer un poco de cada plato aparte para que todos los comensales puedan probar los platos de los demás (que siempre provoca). En fin, si es caro, pero en mi opinión, para una ocasión especial, lo vale.

El lugar tenía buena pinta, encantador con esculturas, pinturas, chic & classic, pero la comida lejos de ser una experiencia positiva.
Al cabo de 2 minutos de haber pedido nos empezaron a traer los platos, la sensación fue de sorpresa, pedimos 3 para compartir y les tuvimos que decir que no sacaran el tercero porque sería demasiados platos en la mesa.
Pedimos, Risotto, tortellini con trufa blanca y queso parmesano, el sabor era exactamente el mismo! Misma salsa blanca y la presentación terrible, parecía comida de hospital, encima todo estaba frio que hemos pedido que lo calentaran.
Finalmenre sacaron la lasaña que tenía mejor pinta, el sabor no estaba mal pero aunque era de carne ésta era casi inexistente.
Lo mejor podría decir que fue el brownie.
En la cuenta nos intentaron cobrar una botella de cava de 27, por tanto por lo antes descrito y esto NO RECOMIENDO absoluto este sitio, ha sido una decepción total. Por supuesto ahí no volveremos.

The best meal we’ve had in Barcelona. Everything was perfect. The ambiance is extraordinary, the service impeccable, the food delicious and the price fair. We loved it.
The restaurant is very small reservations are a good idea. You have to ring a doorbell to have them open the door for you. Once in, the restaurant feels more like a living room than a business. A great experience.

Okay i’m giving 2 stars for the atmosphere and service. But the food is absolutely terrible and horrible! I really don’t know how this place got famous in Barcelona. The food really taste bad. If I come back and I highly doubt it it would be just for dessert.

Some of the dishes can be a hit and miss. Lobster pasta was a huge half lobster with pasta but over sauced, tortellini with white truffle was doughy and bland and not enough truffle flavor. Best dishes are the more ordinary sounding such as lasagna and shrimp with pasta. I’d go back but only for certain dishes since it can be a strike out or home run depending what you order. They have moved a block away from the location that is shown in the pics.

THIS IS A MUST EAT! I never write reviews, so here’s my first one. I am a self-​proclaimed foodie and found this restaurant through online reviews. Upon arrival, not only did the famous (and incredibly kind and humble) chef seat us to a private table viewing the garden (without reservations) but he also waited on, and made several dishes for us that weren’t even on the menu! He crafted his own unique food for us and kept sending over dishes «on the house» to us! It was an absolutely incredible experience and I was in awe and star struck to say the least. If I ever go to Spain again, this will be my first stop! Talk to the chef! He’s very sweet, talkative, and the restaurant aims to make you feel like royalty!

Da Greco es de aquellos lugares que sólo con entrar te das cuenta que tu estómago va a disfrutar. Su ambiente de los Chicago de los años 40 y su orden/​desorden en la colocación de las mesas hacen que tengas la sensación de estar en otro tiempo. Era la segunda vez que acudía.
De entrantes; Caprese y Charcuterie. De segundos; cabe destacar Spaguetti a la Putanesca (finos, salsa con su justo picante e increiblemente sabrosa), Risotto al Parmigiano (sencillamente perfecto, maravilloso). El arroz está completamente integrado con el queso haciendo que sea una sensación sublime al tomar contacto con las papilas gustativas). Los Tortellini de trufa blanca al Gorgonzola (con este enunciado; no hace falta añadir nada más). De postre, sería un pecado mortal no elegir el tiramisú. El gigante corte que te ofrecen hará que des un beso en la frente al camarero al salir. El servicio es atento (quizás en ocasiones demasiado). El camarero que toma nota es increiblemente peculiar. El ambiente es tranquilo y es curioso fijarte en la decoración de sus paredes.
Algo curioso, es que siempre suelen servir en el medio de la mesa a modo de degustación uno o dos platos para que todos puedan probar los platos de los otros comenales, sin necesidad por tanto de meter la cuchara en plato ajeno. El precio no es barato (unos 30 €; vino incluido)

I have been to many great Italian restaurants and Da Greco definitely does this in the food department, however I felt it was trying to be something it’s not. Right away you can tell the service does not do it justice and the ambiance is just awful. The room was so lit up that when my girlfriend and I walked into the restaurant it felt that everyone was staring at us and the tables were so close to each other I felt everyone was listening to our conversation. I really enjoyed the chef’s Lobster special and the three course pasta was good, but I felt the restaurant was lacking in service which really caused me to give this a 3 star rating. Definitely look elsewhere…

Way expensive for the quality and service you get here. I did come here a couple years ago and portions where well served; tonight we came with a group of 9 to enjoy some good pasta. Total disappointment (we are actually from Barcelona); the caprese salad was worse than the one you could make at your house; the Porta a Porta salad… omg it’s like the one I get at some cheap lunch menu… had absolutely no fun in it, was wattery. Now the pastas… huge plate (literally)…only ¹⁄₃ of it was pasta.
Pisses me off to leave a restaurant being overpriced, but specially when I leave hungry!!!
And the service… well if Spain in general is laid back, im telling you i was furious about them not bringing anything we asked for.

Hacia tiempo que no iba, y aun no habia ido al nuevo local, cual ha sido mi sorpresa cuando nos han presentado el plato con una muestra para nuestro acompañante, me explico, yo habia pedido tortelinis, mi novia ha recibido un plato convarios para poder probarlos no lo habia visto nunca y me ha parecido SENSACIONAL, servicio muy amable, precio razonable 64 ambos, con postre… A mi me ha encantado, mas que el antiguo…

Chef Grecco who personally took our order as his son is now in charge of the kitchen. The décor is lovely, staff very well trained and the food is some of the best of Barcelona.
They do an interesting thing, when someone at the table orders pasta (all homemade and amazing) they bring an additional share plate so everyone at the table has a chance to try it.
Highly recommend this place for italian food.

Con motivo de una celebracion familiar, probamos por primera vez Da Greco. Escogimos el menu desgutacion de mediodia. Sinceramente por precio/​calidad un acierto. Primero, tres pastas sorpresa, segundo, postre, agua y vino y café por 35 €.

Da Greco es un restaurante italiano refinado. Tienen unos platos muy bien pensados y ejecutados, ademas de un detalle que a todo el mundo le encanta: Además de servir tu plato, le dan un pequeño platito del tuyo a tu acompañante para que podais probarlo. Muuuy bien pensado!
Yo le pongo tres estrellas porqué aunque la comida es realmente buena y el servicio es muy atento (de lo mejorcito que he visto por Barcelona) creo que el cambio de localización no les ha favorecido y el establecimiento ha perdido un poco de ese encanto «Rococó» que siempre ha tenido.

Recomendación para el restaurante: Mucho staff trabajando pero nadie al cargo de la música de ambiente –cosa crítica– La última noche que yo estuve sonaba Reaggeton de fondo a un volumen considerable… OMG! (lo último que esperas en un sitio sofisticado, pomposo y elegante… un desastre total)

This place is a real gem! My family and I wanted some Italian food and we did not want to settle for just anything. We consulted Unilocal and the hotel concierge and finally landed on this restaurant. Just as the reviews below state, this place is the real deal. The wine was great. The prices were even better! We ordered some appetizers — melón con prosciutto and the caprese salad. Both were great. Then, most of us ordered pasta dishes which were great! The chefs understand! They brought out extra plates of pasta for everyone to try because «they know how it can be when everyone is sampling from the same plate!» We were amazed… And then stuffed. I also must mention the service was outstanding– multilingual and we felt like we had an elite team watching out for us the entire meal! Kudos! Celebrating my brother’s 28^th birthday, they brought out a beautiful bottle of limoncello to top it all off. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Barcelona!

I ordered spaghetti and my friend ordered seafood spaghetti. Mine was better but still very average food all around as the husbands didn’t think their food was anything special either. Tapas were better than main entres. Place gets a star for décor and a star for good service which is rare I find in Barcelona.

I studied abroad in Barcelona and after I tried Da Greco once I couldn’t get enough. The service is incredible and the food is even better. If you can only go once I would do the try three option so you can get a feel for the menu. Honestly this place is incredible but def make a reservation!

We ate at Da Greco last night. We found it through Unilocal and our concierge. We found it to be a pleasant restaurant close to our hotel. The service was not exceptional and spotty at times. Unfortunately, our orders were reversed and we were served our main dishes prior to our starters. Despite that the meal was pretty good. We ordered the three cheese pasta, a mozzarella salad and the veal mignon. They mistakenly served us the salad and veal first instead of in reverse. Both were very good. The veal mignon was huge and cooked to perfection. When we finished and quite full they brought out the pastas. We thought it would be three on a plate and we would share it. What turned out was three full plates of pasta each one better than the other. They served a ravioli filled with mushroom, linguini ala vongole, and gnocchi in a tomato cheese sauce. Needless to say we were stuffed.
Despite the shoddy service it’s a nice place to enjoy Italian food in Barcelona. The chefs son who’s from New York is the pastry chef. If you’re in the mood for Italian in Catalonian country it’s worth the trip.

My husband and I were visiting from the U.S. and my husband found this place on Unilocal.It was amazing!!! We didnt have reservations, but the staff was extremely nice and spoke with the manager to ask if they could squeeze us in. Luckily we were there early! We took their recommendation and ordered a shrimp avocado appetizer, burrata cheese appetizer, lobster pasta, and some kind of salt crusted nystrip. It was amazing!!! Well cooked, and well seasoned. Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona.
All in all, food was amazing, and service was exceptional!

Hostess was a total b**** to us, even though we had reservations, brought other walkins before us, waited an hour to get our table. Pastas were plain, hiding the lack of imagination in cooking by using too much cream. Was not at all impressed by this place, restaurant itself was super loud, we could barely speak across the table. Would not go back and would not recommend anyone else go either.

Quedando cerquita de la office, decidimos organizar una comida de empresa entre semana. Aún habiendo de reservar dado que acuden muchos turistas bien avispados, Da Greco es una buena opción si se está por la zona de Jardinets.
Es un local con una amplitud que sorprende; pasillo, más pasillo… no acaba nunca! Mesas y más mesas, siempre llenas! Aquí la pasta y el risotto se sirven a toneladas. Tuvimos una experiencia más que notable. Servicio muy profesional, una decoración que te hace sentir en otro lugar y una calidad alta en cada elaboración. Es cierto que no es un restautante barato, pero si se sabe elige con cautela tampoco es escandaloso. Be careful ;)
Algún entrante es escaso en proporción (como los aguacates con gambas) aunque es justo remarcar que los platos de pasta son muy generosos, contando también el platillo para probar que sirven. Mis raviolis con ceps estaban de muuuuerte, no exagero!
En fin, un gran restaurante para ir de business, en pareja o para ocasiones familiares. El menú del día no llega a los 20 € y sale muy muy bien por lo que me han contado ;) lástima que nos animamos por la extensa carta.

Not an exaggeration. It’s in our Top 5 for sure.
Recommendations:
— Prosciutto with figs, if it’s available/​in season. The figs were divine.
— The pasta sampler/​trio, in which they basically bring you a «small» plate of whatever they’re making in the kitchen at that time, so you can try a bunch of different things. We ended up with 2 creamy mushroom sauce dishes, which normally we don’t like, but the food here is so good I devoured it all.
— The ravioli. My favorite, and just incredible.
— Risotto cooked in parmesan wheel. My boyfriend felt like he was eating heaven with every bite.
— Tiramisu. I’m not normally that big on tiramisu, but this was the best I’ve ever had.
As if the spectacular food weren’t enough, the service is also very good, the décor upscale and quirky, and the prices practically «cheap.» (HOW?! I don’t know. I would have easily/​willingly paid double.) Another nice touch: owner/​chef comes out to take your order himself.
Do yourself a favor and dine at Da Greco. You won’t regret it.

My friends and I stumbled upon Da Greco while looking for a place to eat to commemorate our last night together in Barcelona. We went in and the hostess asked if we had reservations. Of course we didn’t being walk ins. However, she was accommodating and mentioned that a party of the same size had reservations fairly soon and if they didn’t show up then we could take their spot. Lucky for us as they didn’t show up! I don’t think I could’ve walked any bit further anyways. I was so tired from all the walking, haha.
With many different things to choose from the menu I ended up ordering the sampler which was a couple of the main dishes but at smaller portions. The others ended up ordering just a main dish. It didn’t really matter what we ordered in the end as they ended up bringing us small servings of everyone’s order. I guess it was for everyone to try? First time seeing something like that in a restaurant but you got no complaints coming from me! More food is always welcomed!
I recall having spaghetti (a bit spicy), cheese ravioli, fettuccine alfredo with salmon, risotto, gnocchi, and seafood (shrimp and mussels) pasta with olive oil and butter. Everything was phenomenal! The dishes were full of flavor. Quite possibly the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Service here was good and they were attentive to our table.
So why the 3 star rating you ask? Well a day after my stomach didn’t feel too good. I ended up using the restroom and figured that was the end of that. But I didn’t get any better and ended up frequenting the restroom every 2 hours. I felt like hell. I wasn’t getting any better after a few days and saw a doctor when I got home. Turned out I had food poisoning infection. No bueno. It also turned out my other friend was not feeling too good either. We deduced that it was the seafood pasta that was the source of the problem as we were only the ones who had that dish and everyone else pretty much ate the same thing.
Getting food poisoning would have been enough for me to drop my rating to one star. However everything tasted good so I guess I can’t be too harsh. My advice is to stray away from the seafood dishes. Everything else you should be good on.

Restaurante italiano de altísima calidad situado en Paseo de Gracia, ¡casi nada!
Tiene varios puntos que lo convierten en un MUST:
— Si vas dos, te sirven tu plato y en otro más pequeño te sirven un poco de lo que ha pedido el otro.
— El precio. Hay que matizar, la cena puede salir MUY cara, pero hay platos riquísimos que puedes disfrutar sin gastar una cantidad exagerada.
— La pasta. Las dos veces que he ido he probado los tortellinis con salsa de trufa blanca y están ES-​PEC-​TA-​CU-​LA-​RES, de los mejores platos de pasta que he probado nunca.
Además, la decoración es digna de ver, y algo que no todo el mundo sabe: tiene una mesa forrada con los colores del Barça, en la que solo pueden comer personas que tengan que ver con el equipo (jugadores, ex jugadores, directivos…).

Un restaurante italiano selecto y con muy buena fama en Barcelona y la verdad, la merece. Comiendo los platos de pasta, sobretodo la pasta con acompañamiento de salsa de trufa blanca.
Lo más curioso es que cuando vas en pareja, a tu acompañante le ponen un plato pequeño con lo que tú estás comiendo y viceversa. Así podréis probar el uno, el plato del otro. Nunca había visto un restaurante que hiciese esto.
La decoración es digna de El Padrino. Lámparas lujosas, esculturas, madera y estancias decoradas al más puro estilo señorial. Lujoso de verdad, algo que podrás comprobar no sólo en el propio restaurante sino también en las salas superiores que se reservan para grupos o cenas de empresa.
Es difícil disfrutar del Da Greco sin reservar antes, porque está bastante solicitado, así que mejor ir con reserva.
Como anécdota os comento que los jugadores del Barça suelen ir bastante a este restaurante e incluso tienen una mesa pintada con los colores del equipo que se reserva únicamente para ellos.

Buena pasta y buen risotto. Son rápidos, aunque haya mucha gente. Y la decoración, abigarrada y kitsch, tiene su gracia. Creo –no pagué yo– que los precios son ajustados y más asequibles de lo que sugiere el local visto por furea y dada su ubicación.

Back in the day — my dairy tolerant days, when I could have all the cheese and cream and butter to my heart’s content — I LOVED coming here.
Those days are gone. But I still fondly remember Da Greco — how they’d serve a chunk of parmesan cheese on the table for us to pick at… they’d finish off the risotto in the hollowed-​out wheel of said parmesan — swirl it about, and then serve it cooked and seasoned to perfection. Not only would they serve you a plate of it — they’d place a serving in the center of the table for everyone to try… and then serve a plate to the next table «para probar».
What if no one at your table ordered the arrabiata pasta? but the next table did? That’s right, you’d get a small serving «para probar».
The place looks like an antique shop exploded in the restaurant — with ornate candelabras, fancy framed oil paintings, and statues galore… kinda cluttered if you ask me.
But the food was good. I’d go there again, but it’s torture, I tell ya! Seeing those foods that I used to love that I can no longer have… like the mushroom ravioli… sigh.

Le pregunté a Andrea que le apetecía cenar esa noche. Me dijo que tenía antojo de pasta, de buena pasta. Le dije un par de restaurantes italianos, pero me dijo que tenía antojo de buena pasta, que quería ir al Da Greco.
Así que le dije que la llevaría allí. Me comentó que era imposible que encontrase sitio para ese mismo día, que el restaurante es muy bueno y siempre hay mucha gente.
Así que llame. No, no había mesa. Pero me moría de ganas de probarlo y ponerla contenta. Así que deje mis datos de contacto y pedí que por favor si una mesa cancelaba queme llamasen.

Si, realmente tenía razón, la pasta está buenísima.
El local no hacía mucho juego con nosotras, pero la pasta exquisita.
Si tienes ganas de comer buena pasta, pásate por el Da Greco, eso si, reserva, porqué no se si tendrás tanta suerte como yo

Puede que hayas pasado muchas veces por delante de este local, en frente dels Jardinets de Gràcia y no sepas que es un restaurante. Y es que todo en el Da Greco es un misterio. Si te acercas a su puerta, grande, pesada, dorada, puede que la encuentres cerrada. Tendrás que llamar al timbre y esperar a que te abran. Mientras tanto, no hace falta que busques ninguna referencia en la puerta. No hay ninguna carta ni nada que indique que estás frente un restaurante.
Una vez dentro te encuentras con un restaurante igual de misterioso. No hay ventanas, la iluminación viene de las muchas lámparas que hay, todo es muy recargado, con esculturas y figuritas.
Las mesas dotan a los comensales de privacidad y lo más importante, la comida a base de pasta es muy buena, pero el plato estrella es el risotto a la rueda de parmesano.
No te preocupes si te has quedado con las ganas de pedir otra cosa, lo mejor es que siempre traen otros platos para que los puedas degustar. ¡Que gran idea!

Antes de empezar, tengo que decir que me regalaron un DVD sobre su cocina la segunda vez que fui (me verían erróneamente con cara de saber cocinar), pero eso no ha hecho variar ni un milímetro mi comentario, ya que hace un tiempo de eso y el DVD aún no le visto.
Se trata de un restaurante italiano de nivel superior, claramente. De los pocos italianos a los que he ido y no he pedido pizza; me apetecía más bien pasta o un risotto bastante bueno (quizá no tanto como algunos dicen, pero definitivamente bueno). Hubo otra gente que pidió carne –no recuerdo exactamente el qué– y también estaba buena, al punto.
Sí que es verdad que la decoración da algo de miedo, tan rococó a la grecorromana; grandilocuente. Por momentos, parecía el decorado de un remake de «Calígula» hecho por Fellini. Realmente, son imágenes que quedan grabadas. Pese a eso, estuvimos en un reservado, muy cómodos y tranquilos, y el servicio estuvo siempre muy atento y correcto.
En definitiva, si no os incomoda una decoración cuanto menos peculiar, o incluso os hace gracia, vale la pena entrar en este restaurante del que no se habla tanto como debería hacerse. Grazie Da Greco!

Elegimos al Da Greco para una cena de empresa porque nos habían dado muy buenas referencias y, la verdad, no erraron el tiro. Da Greco es un restaurante selecto para comer. No puedo hablar de precios (nos hicieron oferta especial de grupo), ni tampoco de la carta al uso (íbamos al menú degustación), pero todo lo que pasó por esa mesa (pasta, carne y unas cantas delicias) estaba jugoso, jugoso.
El servicio además fue exquisito y cuando la comida se acabó corrieron prestos a ofrecernos alcohol (los gin-​tonics volaron) y a sonreírnos mientras veían como íbamos cayendo en las fauces del alcohol.
Hay un motivo más por el que el Da Greco merece la pena, su decoración ultrakitchs es de un valor incalculable. De hecho tengo una foto en los lavabos sentado en un sofá imperial y acompañando a una estatua que emula a la Venús de Milo. Y creedme fue mi foto de perfil MUCHO tiempo.
