Derby

Quite a nice hotel for my latest stay in Barcelona. Located in Corts area and 10min away from the metro station.
The staff speaks spanish and english, and some of them even french. I asked if I can have another room as mine was on the first floor: I could hear the lobby’s activity with all the customers checking-​in/​out. The staff did the change and I even got an upgrade with a nice terrace to enjoy the Barcolena sun.
3 stars «only» because I was expecting more for that kind of hotel. Their fitness room is actually a bike and a carpet runner — the pool looks more like a big water basin. Both are actually in the Grand Derby Hotel, just in front.

Der Standard des Hotels ist gut, es ist sauber, das Zimmer geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr angenehm. Allerdings gibt es Zugang zum WLAN nur für ein Gerät. Der weitere Zugang mit Kabel war nicht möglich, weil offensichtlich der Port nicht freigeschaltet war. Nervig, weil man nie Zeit hat für solche organisatorischen Dinge. Die Klimaanlage konnte man abschalten. Das Bad geräumig und sauber. Allerdings hat leider ein Gast auf einer anderen Etage seinen Hund alleine im Zimmer gelassen, was dazu führte, das die ganze Nacht Gejaule und Gekratze an Türen oder Möbeln zu hören war, was den Schlaf deutlich gestört hat. Dafür kann das Hotel natürlich nichts, aber man könnte die Tierbesitzer entsprechend darauf hinweisen, die Tiere nicht alleine zu lassen wenn sie das nicht gut vertragen. Ansonsten sehr gut gelegen und insgesamt einen guten Eindruck hinterlassen. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hotel Derby kann man empfehlen, wobei es auch nicht unbedingt das billigste ist.

Pros: Friendly bilingual staff, great location near Diagonal Ave. And clean rooms with big safes.
Cons: concierge offered cab rides rip you off, upon check out, walk up 100ft to the cab stand and save $ 20 euro to the airport, they were there even at 5am when we left on a weekday. Don’t get confused with the Derby Hotel across the street, same brand but different hotel.
Other than that, worth the stay. Oh and you get a discount on the hop on/​off bus when you pre purchase your day ticket, direct from the hotel, just ask the front desk staff.

Buen hotel donde he visto de los mejores bufet para el desayuno cantidad y calidad

Hotel de cuatro estrellas situado en una de las calles más tranquilas de Barcelona.
El ambiente muy tranquilo y acogedor. En todo momento nos hiceron sentir como en casa.
La habitación moderna y colorida, desprendia buenas vibraciones. Amplia, limpia y con mucha luz.
El servicio bastante bien, fueron correctos durante nuestra estancia.
En la cocina podemos disfrutar de platos internacionales y de la propia tierra. También disponen de sitio de copas.
Nos fuimos muy contentos

En la mejor zona de Barcelona
Justo al lado de la Avda. de Sarrià y de Josep Tarradellas, este hotel ofrece tranquilidad, calidad y precios razonables. Zona del ensanche y de tiendas de lujo. Al lado un buen restaurante, Can Fayos.
