We came here twice because it was so delicious. Chose the Pizza Diavola and thought it was an absolut delight. The tomato sauce on it was a dream and the cheese was just delicious. Will definitely come back for more. Grazie!

I will start with the best part first– their profitroles dessert was delicious! This dish saved them from my wrath of giving lower than a 3⁄5. I was excited to check this place out, as the reviews are pretty great. However, I did not have a very good experience. They have a large menu and my husband and I were viewing it. We are both English speakers and so we had to look closely at the menu to see the smaller font translations. The owner, who I was actually a bit excited to meet when he first came over, was not hospitable. He asked«Are you ready to order?» and we said«Can we have a couple of more minutes?» His response then was«You still need a couple of minutes? You have been looking for 15 minutes now.» I thought this was EXTREMELY rude, as there was no way it had been 15 minutes and his tone was not very friendly. After we ordered and he could see I was upset, he tried to be nicer… which did not win me over at all. The food was definitely not all that great and it was super pricey. I would never go here again.

Our hotel(Arts) recommended this spot for dinner. My boyfriend and I both do not particularly enjoy seafood, so Spain was a bit of a struggle. I mean, c’mon– who eats at an Italian restaurant in Spain? In summary the service was great, but the drinks and entrees were yuck. Gusto is small but has several tables(little crampy) and two floors. They have a full bar, so you can ask them to make you anything that’s not on the menu. When we entered, the manager greeted us with a big smile and was very friendly. We spoke to him for a bit on food options. He even went to check in the back to see if they had ginger ale(they didn’t, but the effort was much appreciated). We started off with the buratta– very fresh and tasty. My boyfriend ordered the lemon chicken with capers as his entrée, a dish he usually enjoys. They had put TOO much salt/lemon juice on it. So much that he was unable to finish his meal. I was more boring; I ordered penne. It was very good, but at the same time you’d have to be a pretty bad cook to screw up penne. We each ordered a cocktail from their menu– both of which were way too sweet and syrupy. We forced ourselves to finish them(expensive) and ordered gin and tonics instead.

Awesome Margherita con Bufala pizza. Pretty small area for seating but so is everything else in Barcelona. And a picture of some who I’m assuming is the owner with Beyonce at the restaurant. How could you go wrong?

The servers were kinda unfriendly, the tables were crammed together, the wifi didn’t work, the bathroom door slammed every time someone came in or out, but damn… The food here is AMAZING. I had the dish with the sauce and cheese and pasta in it… Ok I have no idea what it was called. But everything our party had was mui Bueno! Highly recommend.(-:

We had dinner there twice. The service and the staff are great. The food is delicious and the pizza is cooked in a real wood oven! They tried to push their most expensive Italian wine, don’t fall for it. Stick with the house wine which is reasonably priced.

We liked this restaurant so much we ate dinner there twice in a matter of days while staying down the street in Barcelona. I know I’ve mentioned this a couple times, but I’m not cut out for tapas. I don’t want to order a bunch of small bites when I can just order once and enjoy my meal without looking at the menu again or flagging down a waiter. Food: 5 Stars Everything we ordered on two separate occasions were delicious from the pizza, bruschetta, tiramisu etc. I didn’t take photos the second time we went for dinner because we took some family there who were visiting from Lisbon, Portugal. I think they liked it too. Service: 4 Stars The service was great both times we were there, but the waiter kept knocking my jacket off my chair the second time we went for dinner. The tables are so close that it doesn’t allow room to walk between them when people are seated. That was a little annoying because I had to pick my leather jacket up off the floor. Atmosphere: 4 Stars It’s nice inside, but the tables are a little close together hence my problem above with my jacket getting knocked off. Maybe they need some kind of coat rack to alleviate the problem. Recommendation: We would definitely go back again because the food is excellent.

Calzone was yummy… But the great stuff was the chili oil, perfecto for the pizza crust!

Well, we’ve been to but NEVEREATEN in Napoli, so we are unable to comment on the authenticity of their offerings, BUT the deep-fat-fried calzone du jour was quite tasty and definitely different from any other calzone we’ve tried! The chocolate«soufflé» was actually a(delicious) molten chocolate cake a la mode. Can’t say we minded the misrepresentation in the least. The calzone was huge and easily shared(as is the case with many of the entrées, we understand), but the dolce didn’t follow suit. It was individually-sized; so if the pair of you have sweet teeth, order two. The Peroni on tap was a plus.

The Unilocal reviews do not do this place justice. Gusto is easily the best Italian food I’ve had in Barcelona. Service is excellent, the staff is so kind and makes you feel at home. Everything they offer is delicious — pasta, pizza, appetizers. Go to Gusto you will not regret it!!!

If I could make this a 6 star review I would. My husband and I visited here on our honeymoon and were blown away by our experience! The ambiance was really cool and chic with pictures of the beautiful Sofia Lauren covering the walls and a traditional tiled pizza oven. We were served an aperitivo of Campari and Soda soon after we sat, and really got to enjoy the vibe of the restaurant. We had one Margherita each, accompanied with a very cold bottle of white wine that the waiter recommended, which was a perfect match. The pizza came out super fast and hot, just like in Napoli! The dough was perfectly cooked, soft and tender with bold flavors and just the right amount of mozzarella :) The owner and his staff seemed very attentive to their customers and really made my husband and I feel special as if we had known them forever. We enjoyed our experience so much, we visited their sister restaurant near Av. Diagonal ‘Margherita’ which was also superb. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in Barcelona!

Recently shared a delicious pizza dinner and a grilled vegetable masterpiece at Gusto. The pizza had the thinnest and lightest crust I have ever tried with fresh tomato sauce and toppings. The grilled vegetable dish was an imaginative medley of eggplant, zucchini, peppers, arugula and goats cheese. I’d say this place serves high quality and tasty food. If I lived in Barcelona I definitely would return!

The other Unilocalers who have anything negative to say about the food clearly have never been to Napoli. My family is from Mondragone and I have eaten at some of the best Neapolitan pizzarias in Naples. Gusto is truly authentic Neapolitan pizza. The taste of the wood fired oven, the fresh yet simple ingredients for the dough, quality Mozzarella, and delicious tomato sauce. Since my family comes from a part of Italy where Mozzerella di Bufala is made best, I’m well aware of what authentic should taste like. I live in the states(Boston) and we have absolutely nothing that comes close in quality or flavor. If you have never been to Naples and enjoyed a pizza and you find yourself in Barcelona… GOTOGUSTO. The owners were very friendly, hospitable, and the wait staff had our food in front of us in no time. My wife isn’t italian and doesn’t like pizza and even she was sold. I bought a pizza for the road to eat after a night of partying in beautiful Barcelona. Everyone said goodbye when we left, like we were part of the family. If you get the chance, go here. You won’t be disappointed.

Masterful wood-oven taste explosions — and THE best calzone I’ve ever had this life! Generous and amiable hosts Mario & Ronato lead a friendly and efficient staff. I just hope they keep their chef happy!

Gusto is a very modern looking Italian restaurant and the food reflects this slightly. I had the house red wine with bruschetta and the Margherita pizza. The wait staff was friendly and spoke some English, which was appreciative. The bruschetta was really delicious, despite being on the more oily side. The pizza itself was good but suffered the problem other reviewers have noted where the middle of the pizza was soupy because either the crust wasn’t think enough or the sauce had too much water. Regardless it was very good and convenient near the Hospital Clínic stop.

Gusto is an Italian restaurant that works very hard to look Italian: waiters will say«prego» and the menu is in Italian. Most of the stuff is Italian, too. Upscale decoration, but busy and noisy. Not especially spacious, neither. Maybe it’s because I went on a Friday night, but it was hard to get noticed by the waiters. I really enjoyed their fish and they have fire ovens for pizza. Their beef carpaccio was passable, but not especially good. Id come here if I’m around, but that’d be the only reason.

Would give it 3.5 if that was an option. Worth a stop if you are craving Italian or Neopolitan pizza and in the area. Don’t go too far out of your way. It was definitely good just nothing amazing and the pizza was a little runny and undercooked. We have not tried any other Italian while in Barcelona, so it may be one of the best. I am comparing it to quality Italian food I have had in other European cities.

Nice little Italian restaurant, which is convenienty located within walking distance from the Hospital Clinic metro station. We started with the Carpaccio Classico, which was excellent. Thinly sliced beef carpaccio, topped with arugula, shaved Parmesan, and a freshly squeezed lemon. The Panzerotti Con Riccota E Funghi Porcini pasta was delicious, with riccota cheese stuffed pasta bathing in a rich mushroom filled sauce. But my favorite was definitely the Pizza Margherita. The crust was something amazing — thin and chewy, yet light and airy, with a nice char from the brick wood fire oven(which you can see right when you walk through the doors). I highly recommend the pizza here, plus the food and the house Pinot Grigio are reasonably priced. Eat up!

The place looks really pleasant and the staff are very friendly. The olive starter was fine with a nice pesto dressing. Pizzas were srved far too quickly and were lukewarm. Tomato base was homemade but all turned into a sloppy mess because of the cold oppings. The fresh prawns were grilled and these were overdone making the flesh pretty nasty in taste. Not impressed.
