This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I booked 4 nights in this hotel, mostly based on the pictures and some of the reviews. I got there and stayed one night only, I had to book a different hotel. The room was disgusting, it was dirty, the tiles were cracked, the room was extremely noisy, the beds were like sleeping on boards, the WIFI was slow to non-existent. I was able to book a different hotel at the last minute and moved out after the first night(where I got absolutely no sleep). When I told the front desk that were were not staying, they refused to give me back my deposit of eu 160,00. They told me I had to give 24 hours notice(how could I do this? I didn’t know how horrible this place was until I got there!). I have emailed the management several times and haven’t gotten a response. ZERO stars

Hotel at the end or beginning of La Rambla at the plaza Catalunya. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The rooms where nice but the looked a little bit outdated. I normally sleep on a very soft bed, but these beds where pretty hard but to my surprise they slept quite good. The only downside was the noise of the streets, ear plugs are a must. The location of the hotel is perfect!

The location is absolutely great — right in front of Placa Catalunya and lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. There’s a metro station and a bus stop in front. Within walking distance to important landmarks such as La Ramblas, La Boqueria, Mercat de Sta. Caterina, Palau de la Musica, Dali Museum, Cathedral, etc. The Alsa bus from/to the airport stops a block away from the hotel. Breakfast buffet is included in the $ 120/night I paid for when I booked a year ago. Breakfast is on the 3rd floor from, 7:30am-11am-ish. They have tortilla(Spanish omelette), breads, croissants, pastries, cereals, yogurt, ham, cheese, Nutella, peach juice, orange juice, milk, water and coffee. The tortilla was really good — I had it everyday. Wi-fi is free, just get the username and password from front desk. The thing I didn’t like about this hotel is that they share their entrance with a watch store which means if the watch store is closed, so is the entrance. You have to buzz in to get in. I arrived late at night with 2 pieces of luggage and I had to weave through people looking at watches. There’s only 1 elevator and it’s as slow as molasses and I found myself using the stairs more than the elevator to get to my room on the top floor. They use actual keys(not the magnetic cards) that you have to get from the front desk and leave with them when you’re going out. The staff was great and helpful except for one graveyard shift guy who worked New Year’s Eve — he was such a grouch and wasn’t very helpful — charged me for everything including the air I breathed. Flat-screen TV with no English channels, some Spanish channels and 3 BarcaTV channels. I’ve gotten better service in other cities in Spain for less than what I paid for for this hotel.
