Hotel Princesa Sofia

This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. It’s really only a 3.5 to 4 star. ConTraste restaurant attached to the hotel is very nice and the service is great.

I have been in so many places and hotels in my life this is by far one of the worst .
Very very noisy in the morning outside your room corridor and oust lose your window, V Small rooms, overly priced, not renovated, maybe just friendly staff…
Save your money go some wer worth it.,

Nice hotel. Great place to stay. We booked here because my friend had always wanted to stay at a 5-​star hotel, and this one was close to the stadium! The room rates were very reasonable, and we were quite impressed with everything from the Enormous breakfast buffet, to the reception staff and bellboy/​service crew.
We were on a lower floor, but the view was still ok. We really like the German restaurant attached to the building, but I was a little bummed I didn’t get a chance to use the pool here!
The only downside was the distance into town, and the distance to the metro station. Oh well, you can’t have it all!

Very nice Hotel. Little on the small size. Five star rated. Staff is very helpful. Very clean. Nice rooms. SUPER comfortable bed ! We only ate breakfast here, Breakfast was good. good selection of different foods. easy to get around Spain with bus and subway system. BUT this place is One block away from the Stadium ! AWESOME ! Went to see Spain kick some soccer Ass ! Felt sorry for the other team. Never had a chance.
Starbucks right next door ! same side as the hotel. Life is GOOD ! LOL

Spain has one of the Highest pick pocket rates in the world. Three people in our group got picked. It’s not the locals. it’s people from other countries come here because theres so much tourist.

I enjoyed my stay here for the most part! Some of the customer service at the front desk and the second concierge guy I worked with were not very helpful.
However, the main concierge guy I worked with (I never got his name) helped me navigate walking in the area, taking the Metro system and deciding where to eat. He never tired of giving me advice about what to do each day and how to get there.
The breakfast room on the top floor is beautiful with cheery, happy service. The Club service was great and helpful to and are attentive to your needs. I especially enjoyed the service where they draw you a bath in your room and provide a glass of champagne with dessert tastes, and they also give a free 15 minute massage (this is all Club service only).
There is a gym with a lovely pool and hot tub on site. There are spa services and clean showers with locker rooms available, plus a healthy eating option in the gym area.
The location of the hotel is a little bit away from the city center in an affluent area near the university, but is easily accessible by Metro and is very close to the Barcelona futbol stadium. You can access both hop on hop off tour buses close by as well.
Our room was comfortable and bath products are provided. The shampoo, conditioner and lotion are heavily perfumed, so if you do not prefer this, bring your own toiletries. I was not used to it at first, but I began to like their products during the course of my stay.
My friend was here for a work meeting, and they did note that the meeting food was lacking. I liked the breakfast room food (espresso, coffee, American style breakfast, plus meats and cheese) but perhaps the meeting food was separately catered.
I would not mind staying here again!

Not a great location for a tourist, but is good for business traveler. Large clean rooms and the breakfast and room service is above good. Only issue for me, even though I speak Spanish, a few English channels on tv would be appreciated. After a 8 hr flight and 10 hr work day its appreciated.

This is my second time here and liked it both times. Compared to the Hilton near-​by, this is definitely more traditional (in terms of decors). The services were good and the rooms are okay in size (according to the European standards). It is 10 – 15 mins walk away from the convention center with a lot of public transportation options and taxis. My only complaint is the lack of power outlet (only one that is easily accessible) considering how many electronic /​battery based devices that we all carry.
