Very tasty stuff. Highly recommend this place. Reminded me of NYC yuppie gadtropub. It’s all good.

Make no mistake Americans, this is not typical«hotel food», you will indulge in a world-class meal, you will have the highest caliber of service being rendered, you will most definitely ENJOYIT! I had the pernil and it was incredible, do not miss out if you are in the Gothic district.

I really enjoyed the food here. Plenty of options and a nice twist on the same tapas you get everywhere else in Barcelona. Little issue with the service, ordered the aged steak and specifically stated medium. Waiter brought out beef tarter and INSISTED this is what we asked for. I stated not only did I say«aged» which clarifies which steak it was, but I provided a temperature. Another waiter came over and handled the issue really well. Steak would have taken too long to finish since we were at the end of our meal so we went for a quick chicken thigh dish which was good. Beautiful restaurant and really good food. Besides the hiccup, I highly recommend

The service here was not great and the food was over priced for the quality. They messed up our order twice, but quickly corrected it. There is a lot of seafood and shellfish on a limited menu, so be prepared for that. All in all it’s okay, but there are so many better places in Barcelona. Don’t waste your time or money here.

We popped in here for some tapas one afternoon. The atmosphere is really nice and there were a lot of intriguing dishes on the menu. We ordered patatas bravas and tuna and roasted pepper dumplings. Service was slow(even by Spanish standards). The food was definitely good but not memorable. Prices are on the high side. The lady next to us was on the phone the whole time and spoke to people in no less than three languages. That was impressive.

Absolutely love this place! The food is delicious! Fun and creative cocktails! I seriously had a few orgasms at the table. The only thing we didn’t care for was the Jamón ibérico but everything else was YUM! Definitely will be back next time we’re in Barcelona!

I really liked the food here! A very creative take on delicious tapas. One thing that is a bummer, service. BUT(and I know this shouldn’t be an excuse) you just can’t find great service anywhere in Barcelona. I mean, there are a tiny few, but for the most part, if you go out to eat you’re going to be sitting and waiting for a while. That’s just the culture. Being from NYC, we’re used to people rushing us in & out as fast as possible. And we kind of like that. As for Ohla, the ambiance is very nice. Prices aren’t awful, but the portions are fairly small. I mean, they are tapas, but pretty small ones. The good things: The place is beautiful. The food is tasty and very creative. The not-so-good things: Service. Very small portions. Pricey.

This is a difficult review to write. If I had written it just after we had dinner there I would have written something like: This is an upscale tapas bar that serves good tapas that could be excellent if they tried a little harder(e.g. our veal was good but not spectacularly tender especially given that it was very rare). The service, however, was very friendly and excellent. But I write this review after recovering from a serious bout of food poisoning(that both my wife and I had about 24 hours after our visit there). With these things there is never certainty where you get them from but our biggest suspect have to be some razor clams that did not taste very fresh when we ate them there. We finished them nonetheless and had a terrible day afterwards(I spare you the details but it was not nice). That should not happen anywhere but even less in a place that seems so upmarket.

Very nice place. Upscale and trendy décor, but the food is quite good and the staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. Seemed to be filled mostly with tourists and business-types, don’t go here if you are looking for some kind of an ‘authentic’ tapas experience in Barcelona. Do go if want good food with a very tourist-friendly staff.

Great relaxed tapas place. Make sure to try the Lamb’s neck, it’s amazing. The kids also loved the bikini(ham-cheese tosti) and club sandwich.

Went here last night for dinner. Probably ordered 7 or 8 dishes. All of them were great, but the best thing by far was the Lamb Neck Confit. Fantastic.

What a gorgeous space. Loved the 3 course lunch and went twice during my stay in Barcelona… appetizer, main, dessert for 14 euros… a very very good deal considering the quality of the meal, includes the best bread in all of Barcelona and the beverage of your choice… The house wines by the glass are very fine. I probably had the best sweet item of my entire stay in this wonderful city… lemon cream… thin almond cake bottom. crispy cookie top(see pic). Very upbeat, happy service. As an aside, the people of Barcelona are delightful…

I read the other reviews, and was very eager to try, as I’m staying on, y a few blocks away. I was hungry early(by Barcelona standards :-) so went at 6:30, and was told they don’t open until 7:30. I checked their website, and found this info«Kitchen open from 7am until 4pm and from 7.30pm until midnight.», so I think this listing needs to be updated.

We happened upon the Ohla Gastronomic Bar on our way to see the Flamenco show at the Palau de la Musica Catalana for a small bite to eat and a bottle of wine. Even though they have a menu in English, we had our waiter recommend some tapas, and the gazpacho, roast chicken and mushroom croquettes, and spiced pork ribs were all delicious. It was so good we came back afterwards for some post-show cocktails. The bartender carefully and attentively crafted each cocktail with such care. Granted, I’m a simple mojito loving gal, but they were so flavorful and perfectly prepared, I ordered three. The ambience is modern, but the noise level was intimate and quiet. Highly recommended. I would love to stay here sometime!

We visited this spot simply based on the Unilocal reviews and the fact it listed Live music. Well it was disappointing. Very, very, very small plates and quite pricey. Yes they spoke English, a plus but there are many more options in the area. Btw, Live music was only on Sundays. We won’t visit again.

First let me just say this place should be named OH-LA-LA!!! My husband and I walking around lost on the Ramblas, first night in Barcelona. We rented a flat and when we asked our landlord where was a good place to eat he said anywhere except near the Ramblas. Starving and knowing the chances of finding something good were slim we of course turned to our good friends at Unilocal. We put in tapas/small plates and this resturaunt was one that popped up so off we headed. This place was SUPERB!!! We had such an amazing variety of little tapas. The meatballs were just of so good especially since we added them with a side of white beans. The croquettes were crunchy squeeshy balls of deliciousness and the lambs neck confit was like nothing I had ever had before. They had a special that night which was a sea bass prepared with asparagus, being from Hawaii, I am particular with how my fish is prepares and this was perfect. The skin was crispy and the inside moist and cooked to perfection, not to rare and not to overcooked. If nothing explains how good thisnplace was let me end with the fact that we ate here on Wednesday and then returned the following night with three of our friends who all loved it the same. Some might say pricey but when you consider how much we paid earlier in the day for the crap we ate at another place then Oh La’s was a bargain!!! Plus the wait staff spoke English and were just oh so kind, after we had ordered our waiter actually came back and told us he thought we might have ordered too much. He actually suggested out of the variety of things we ordered recommend cutting one or two items based on what he thought would pair well together and what would not be in line with the other flavors. That combined with when I asked him to suggest a nice white wine to go with what we had ordered he surprisingly suggested the cheapest bottle on the menu at only16.95 €, when there were other bottles of the same kind for 60 – 80 € just below. He said this wine is from our region, the others are nice too but this has Flo Ora like no other and is difficult to get outside of our region. All and all I loved this place. A little to the fancy pants side so if you are dressed up you will feel at home however if you are casualy dressed it’s not so over the top that you feel uncomfortable or out of place. I was dressed up the first night, second night I wore shorts and was greeted with the same smile. Enjoy yourself I did… P. S. I met an old cowboy in the bar from Texas that said it was his third night in the bar because they made the best gin and tonic of his life, had all these fancy steps and herbs in a glass marinating, I don’t understand anything outside of wine but if an older gentelman from Texas swears by it then it must be good.

Rounding a downtown street corner near Passeig de Gracia on Saturday, a menu caught my attention. Gastronomic was the key word. Fresh take on Spanish tapas it was delivering. The meal was fantastic, amazing food porn picture worthy, and quite affordable. This was the Ohla Hotel’s Gastronomic Restaurant and Bar. The meal started with a meat cannelloni featuring whipped truffle butter along with a croquette. This was followed by a selection from their menu’s egg portion. Simply beautiful, there were two eggs, asparagus, fine bellota ham and light black pepper. Eat slowly, cherish the flavors. I’d like to point out one very notable aspect, their open kitchen. They have ample bar seating so you can watch the chefs work. Naturally, when the one waiter mentions an a la carte pork shoulder that isn’t on their menu, you say yes. I waited approximately 15 minutes, but they kept me sated with house roasted almonds(paprika and two other spices). The pork fell off the bone nicely, the sauce was savory, and the portion amazing. Knowing the quality of Spanish pork, eyeing the portion size, I was a bit monetarily concerned. 8 Euro. Fears alleviated, Ohla’s praises sung again.

This was a great spot for food after seeing a show at the Palau Musica since they stay open a little later than other restaurants in Barcelona. It’s tapas with a fine dining flair that we enjoyed as a change up from the salt-of-the-earth food we’d been indulging in previously on the trip. We had a great bottle of cava. The pork cheek bacon sandwich, pan con tomate, and poached egg with sausage and beans were all really delicious. The staff were professional and attentive and seemed to have good English. Their menu includes a Spanish, English, and French version.
