La Rita

While visiting Barcelona we stayed at a apartment. well not two doors down from our apartment was the lovely restaurant.
Went for dinner our last night in Barcelona had the set menu for € 2095.
Had the delicious Cesar salad, entrée was a pork loin with basmati rice delicious! Great food for reasonable prices in a posh neighborhood!

We were staying at a hotel just a few blocks away and wanted something a little more substantial then tapas. We had walked by earlier in the day and noticed the appealing décor and stopped to check out the menu.
After not being able to get reservations for the original restaurant we decided to give LaRita a try. I was very impressed. We were greeted and seated without any delay. The waitress was very friendly and had no issues understanding me, since I don’t speak Spanish.
I only drink ice tea which is not always easy to find when traveling through out Europe. She brought me a hot tea with a separate glass and ice. Awesome!
I started with the hummus and pita bread which I might add was the best hummus that I have ever had. The only suggestion that I would offer is a few more pieces of the bread. It was paired with olives and cheese. Just delicious.
My second selection was a field green salad with vegetables. The salad was very typical to what you would expect to get in the states. Although it included roasted corn with the vegetables and it too was delicious.
For my entrée I selected the aged beef with roasted rosemary potatoes and grilled peppers. The potatoes were very tasty and the beef had a small amount of crusted sea salt that again just pushed this dish over the top.
I highly recommend you add LaRita to your list of dinning options when in Barcelona.

We were wandering down the street and saw a queue of Spaniards waiting to fill this restaurant as it opened at 8,00. We thought it worth a try on that basis and were really pleased we did. Window seat in a packed but cool eating section which just got more popular as it went on. The patatas bravas and homous starters were just excellent as was the Savingnon Blanc. Main courses varied from fish to steaks and were served quickly so that more customers could be accommodated. We loved this restaurant :)

RACIST!
We originally came to this place on the first Monday after we arrived to Barcelona and reading the reviews online but they were closed. As we were staying in a luxury apartment across the street, we were so excited!
So today as we turned the corner, we were delighted to see a line of about 10 folks. I told my mom to get in line while I ran an errand across the street.
What transpired next is best described as RACISM!
My mom was told by the Asian guy to wait before coming into the dining room, while the lady with black hair said ‘no’ and told her to come. Mind you, she was not the only single person in the line.
I came about 5 – 7 minutes later to find my mom sitting down while everyone else received their food. At this stage the place is bustling, and she had not been offered to order, given bread or even water like everyone else.
I then proceeded to flag down one of the ladies who seemed quite annoyed and said she has to find our waiter. At first we asked quietly, but after another set of minutes I had to ‘loudly’ flag down the other lady who had originally helped my mom who then found our waiter.
What a horrible experience guys.
Our only conclusion being the only black folks in the restaurant is that this place is ran by a bunch of spanish and asian racists. It’s sad but true and very disappointing for Barcelona.
We stayed to see how everything would play out, and the food was great. but never again will we come here and I am letting all of my friends and global network know. These folks are RACIST!

This is our second time eating here. We had the special last night and it was excellent. Today we stopped for lunch and they had a lspecial with four entrée choices four starter choices and four desserts. Our party had three of the four choices of each and enjoy them all. This is a very popular place at lunch as you can see the line from the picture attached

We’ve eaten dinner here twice and the food quality was great and they are very affordable. This is a very popular restaurant so I recommend making a reservation online, which they now accept for dinner. We will definitely be returning here.

Well what to say about Rita? For sure I’ll be coming here very often. «La Rita» is a friendly restaurant with very good nice Menu. For 10,30 € you can 2 courses + dessert, what a bargain for this price. Th menu changed everyday during weekdays and the options are quite good.
It opens at 13:00 and be sure to be the first one arriving. At around 14:00 sometimes you have to wait 30 min for a table. The portions are not substantial but the 3 dishes menu will give enough energy for the rest of the day. Highly recommend during week days.

— prefix menu comes with a first and second course, dessert, and drink of choice (beer and wine incl.). Really good value for 19.5 euros.

Cons
— carb dishes are good (spaghetti, mash potatoes), but the mains are lackluster

Great food here with decent pricing as well. My favorite dish was the spicy baby octopus. The fried potatoes w/​chorizo /​cod fritters were tasty as well. And don’t forget the sangria!
Only thing I didn’t enjoy was the duck breast, which was lacking in flavor and was a bit dry.

Lots of food, all of it good but macaroni bolognese was to die for. Chicken croquettes were also very good. This place was a lucky find for us.

I stopped by La Rita today for an impromptu lunch with a friend when we noticed the sizable line out front. The pretty, green façade has caught my eye several times and we grabbed a table for the prix-​fixe lunch and enjoyed our time. It was € 10.30 for three courses, some bread and a drink and you certainly get your money’s worth. The food was a little heavy and the service a little erratic but all in all it’s a pretty good spot. A convenient, solid choice after some shopping on Passeig de Gracia or a stroll into Gaudi’s houses.

Set lunch is only $ 9.50 Euros!!! which that price you get an appetizer, an entrée, dessert, and a choice of beverages (incl. alcohol). Everything taste so good!

Though others (including my gf) liked the fishermans stew, I had the set dinner and was pleasantly impressed. Way too much food for me, but it was a great mix because I ended up giving my dessert to the GF.
The food had a great flavor to it, the ambiance was nice, and the sangria was very nice.
Would come back, and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet bistro.

Restaurante para cenas de Navidad de empresa…, calidad muy baja. ²⁵⁄₃₀ por cabeza, los camareros hacen lo que pueden es la comida que no tiene sabor (en una mesa de 8 personas, no había platos destacables). Es un restaurante de una cadena y se nota, no tiene alma.

Went here for lunch with friends. There is a set menu with three choices each of starter, main and dessert, plus water, wine or a soft drink, plus a coffee for EUR9.50! Wow! The place was buzzing with the local lunch crowd and we had a thoroughly good meal.

Le tout sans grande originalité… mais si vous né savez pas où aller, c’est le super bon plan.
Un service très très rapide et soigné, des plats ayant du goût mais sans plus.
Rien d’extraordinaire mais une adresse d’une stabilité à toute épreuve!

An unassuming, yet wonderful restaurant on Carrer d’Aragó. The narrow room offers many tables for 2 or 4 guests, larger tables in the back. The menu offers a wide selection of starters and main dishes at very reasonable prices. I had the rucola salad and filet strips on couscous and curry sauce, others in the group had fish, steak and duck. Service was fast and attentive. Good value at around 20EUR/​guest, and easily reached from Placa Catalunya or Passeig de Gracia. A definite recommedation.

–Comida de mercado excelente, trato y servicio impecable.
–Precio excelente; tanto el menu 8,45 € como si se va de carta en fin de semana unos 15 € por persona.
–El unico problema, és la masificacion. Mucha gente, sobretodo entre semana y al mediodia. Ir a la 13:30 como muy tarde. Sino luego toca esperar un poco.
Espero que lo probeis y comenteis que os ha parecido.
Por cierto, la paella de los jueves, excelente.
