This hidden place is a must-visit for sure! A lot of wines with high quality tapas. Super tasty! Locals love coming here. Not touristic, which I love about this place. Located in El born with a lot of cute shops to visit beforehand!

Cute wine bar in Barcelona that overlooks the Catalan Gothic church, Santa Maria del Mar. The wine list is very impressive, but the tapas were just so-so. The jamon iberica was on the tough side. Maybe it was just sliced too thick to chew? I also did not care for the tuna belly. I didn’t realize the tuna was cured when I saw the dish on the menu. The dish reminded me of fancy canned tuna and cost 12 euros. The roasted vegetables were the only redeeming tapa. Prices are higher than other tapas bars, but expected since you are overlooking the gorgeous church. Come here for the wine and the view, but skip the food.

I’m a little disappointed with this place. It used to be so intimate with wonderful service and now the terrace has been overtaken by the restaurants around this bar. Also, this has been the second time I’ve been and the staff is not very well informed on anything, what wine is seco vs semi seco. It appears as though the staff is new? He couldn’t tell us about the olives that they carry. :(We had glasses of wine each and olives. A place for tourists, yes. A place for locals: no.

Great little spot. Outstanding selection of wines and cava. The tapas menu is limited, but good. The cheese board is great. A little pricey, but what’s a great location across from the Santa Maria basilica! Heading there again later this week.

Very nice wine bar with select local wines and tapas around wine tasting. Carefully picked wines and ingredients worth every penny. Must go for wine lovers in Barcelona. Great place to just have a drink or meet friends and have a tapas dinner. Staff very nice and helpful. Crowd nice and trendy. Great location in the Born barrio.

Nice place to stop and share a bottle. Of course it’s a tourist spot but they all are in this area of town, so sit back and enjoy the view the setting couldn’t be better. Staff is nice and informative. i can’t say much about the food because we had wine and cava.

My new favorite spot in Barcelona! Food was great, Iberian ham, roasted peppers, olives. Great non-smoking section upstairs. Very nice right across the street from the church of Santa Maria Del Mar. My wife had a glass of Cava my dad and I had a great local red.

Yes, you’ll pay a premium to eat and drink somewhere as delightful as this, but hey it’s just money — right? Head upstairs via the tiny spiral staircase and if you’re lucky you will be able to score the only table that sits in the window overlooking the square below. Order a glass of cava, perhaps a nibble or two, and take in the scene that unfold downstairs.

They gave us some old wine and old cava. They need to throw out wine. My guess is 1) they don’t realize my palate knows better and 2) they won’t see me again. It’s sad actually as I was looking to spend and relax because of the warm weather.

This place was great for outdoor seating. We enjoyed Cava and a few tapas in this little square in front of the Santa Maria church. This little area was packed with good people watching and it was a perfect place to take a break after touring the Gothic Quarters. We enjoyed our rest so much we ended up sharing a couple bottles of Cava before heading out again. I definitely recommend a visit.

It is still the best bar in Barcelona. They have awesome selection of wines. Some of the best quality tapas I ever tried in Barcelona. And the location — just down the magnificient Santa Maria del Mar cathedral — is unbeatable!

In the heart of the hackneyed, narrow and beyond romantic streets of Barcelona’s Gothic quarter is a square dominated by the cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar. After taking in the beauty of the church’s entrance, be sure to do a 180 degree spin… and behold La Vinya del Señor, a charming wine bar serving some of the most delectable morsels and wine that we enjoyed on our weeklong stay in the city. This tiny, two-level venue(climb a narrow circular stairway to access the second floor) was filled to capacity at the time of our Sunday night visit, around 9:45pm. Five of us snagged the only outdoor table remaining, and we settled in to watch hip city folk out for an evening with friends, or couples lingering over small plates, small talk, and the ubiquitous glasses of wine that are at the center of Spanish social life. With a setting this evocative, it’s almost a crime not to come here with a significant other; I arrived with a merry band of friends instead, but made a mental bookmark to return someday with the Mister. We shared a bottle of dry cava rosado and several plates of interesting tapas ranging from olives to cheeses, jamon iberico, chorizo and sausage. Each dish was rich and amazing: «just enough» bites that took the edge off of meandering for miles through this beautiful and ancient city, without being overly filling. The entire experience totaled only about 12 euro per person: well worth it, not only for the outstanding food and wine, but also feeling as though you’re in an enchanting dream-movie. The only thing keeping this review from five stars is the somewhat begrudging reaction we got from our server as we took our seats about twenty minutes before the kitchen closed, and thus had to place our order quickly. For a VERY nocturnal society, the place does roll up the rug a bit early on Sundays — but then again, many other places are closed altogether on this day. As we left at 10:30pm, our seats and table were practically pulled out from under us as the waitstaff scrambled to shut down. I felt rushed(not unlike lunch at home during the workday, except with wine!), and that the staff was less than happy to see us. I understand the desire to leave work after a long day(story of my life). But at the same time I felt this to be completely at odds with the long, lingering Spanish dining experience. Come on, people, we’re tourists with money to spend: fake it a little. I envy those reviewers who got to experience La Vinya del Señor the proper way: over an entire languid, delicious and carefree afternoon or evening, without a single thought given to the tick, tick, tock of the nearest clock tower.

Great wine knowledge which was amazing due to their extensive wine list. Employees were friendly and pretty entertaining. I love the spiral staircase and wine written under the stairs and on the mirrors. Beautiful on the outside as well. The owner also has a wine shop around the corner that is jaw dropping. We sat at the bar and ordered some chorizo, tuna with almonds, grilled veggies, and the small bites. All very very tasty! They even gave us great recommendations for other places to visit while we were in town. Perfect place for people watching, too!

Of all the visions, fantasies and expectations I had of dining during my trip to Barcelona, La Vinya del Senyor met or surpassed each and every one. We just happened upon this teensy little tapas bar during a late night stroll through Barrio Gotico, just as we exited a narrow, stone-paved street into the square near Santa Maria del Mar, one of the most impressive(and oldest) Gothic Cathedrals I have ever seen. There were several tables outside, but we went in and sat at the bar, where an extremely kind young woman helped us select a cava(go for rosado — a very interesting rose variety of cava) and a trio of tapas to compliment it. The jamon ibrico was the best I had during my 10 days in Barcelona, no doubt. It was sliced so thinly, the delicate marbling throughout the pork actually melted in my mouth, and the flavor was that beautifully grassy, earthy, pure deliciousness that can only come from perfectly-cured and cut jamon ibirico. With the jamon, we had a sampling of Catalonian cheeses, all of which were superb — one creamy like a brie, one tangy and firm like an aged goats cheese, and one slightly moldy sheep’s milk cheese, similar to Humboldt Fog. WIth that, we also got a generous bowl of mixed olives — super-flavorful, tender and juicy. We stayed at that bar for hours, savoring our Catalonian treats and chatting with the bar maid. There was no rushing, no crowding, no hovering. The cozy space was very intimate, and I could tell it was just as old as the city around it. I loved it, and can quite confidently say that this was my favorite tapas spot in Barcelona, hands down. Not to be missed!

Small, cramped, busy. Lots of wine, not a lot of tapas, its more of a meeting place for a couple of drinks and very quick eats, while moving on to something else. Expensive.

Desde entonces he vuelto muchas veces.

Scheint so… Ach was, nicht eins, zwei ;-).
