Amazing restaurant with amazing service.
Ate here twice while staying in Barcelona in February 2016.
We are lunch here one afternoon ordering the set 3 course lunch menu. The fideua was one of the freshest seafood dishes I’ve ever had, and this includes everything I tried in Tokyo.
The owner/​chef and hear waiter/​chef/​bartender were both incredibly hard working and truly passionate about their food and great service. They spoke English well and made the small restaurant very inviting. We were here in the cold month of February, so we were forced to eat inside, but there is a beautiful outside seating area behind the restaurant as well.
The restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk away from La Sagrada Familia cathedral.
Make a point to visit this restaurant while in Barcelona!

5 stars for both the food and the service! The red wine was the best I had while in Barcelona. This little restaurant was close to my Airbnb so I decided to try based on other’s reviews. It did not disappoint! The servers were so pleasant. I highly recommend trying them out!

Good burgers. Small neighborhood hidden gem. The waiter working was an excellent multitasker, he looked exhausted because he’d been working a shift on his own. Cooking, serving, cleaning, stocking, and yet remained hospitable towards all the guests. The burger had lots of flavor. Patatas Bravas were piping hot and fresh.

This is the one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever tried!!! Chef Isma only use organic/​free ranged grown beef for the petty, and the taste is just fantastic!!! Bun is crisp, and simple lettuce/​tomato make your mouth feel so heavenly. If you like the food with good fresh materials, this is the ‘must’!!!

So the owner/​chef really tries but it’s diminished by the waiter! Rude, uninterested, he came back 3 times empty handed and we waited for our wines about 15 minutes because it was crowded. Yes, there were 8 of us in total?! Food was, compared with other places we tried, not great — quality, quantity and choice wise. The rating is because of the chef but there are so many better places to try.

Excelente restaurante muy cerquita de casa. La calor apretaba y hemos entrado para mitigar esta ola de calor con un poco de gazpacho bien fresquito con trocitos de melón y una ensalada. El segundo ha sido un costillar muy muy rico y muy tierno. Y todo en el menú.
El trato ha sido impresionante, el cocinero se paseaba por las mesas buscando el confort de los huéspedes y es un crack. Nos ha explicado sin problemas que llevaba la salsa del segundo plato.
Volveremos seguro.

Un bar de tapas exquisitas y originales a precios muy razonables. Tiene una de las mejores bravas que probé en Barcelona. Atención magnifica. Acepta ticket restaurant. Tiene un patio interior guapísimo donde te comen los mosquitos, pero eso no es culpa del establecimiento. Totalmente recomendable!

The thing that made santutxo such an enjoyable experience was the service. The server was very helpful in translating what he could into English. The owner came out multiple times to talk to us, and tell us a bit about the food. 3 courses and a drink for 9 euro is a great deal.
If you are going for just the food itself it is not the one of the best meals I’ve had, but the experience made it worth it.

This is the cutest place. I found via Unilocal as it was nearby our hostel, and my friends and I had an excellent late lunch. For less than 10 euros we got to choose an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and also got wine and complimentary bread.
The waitress was very sweet and explained the whole menu in English and made sure our choices accommodated with our tastes. The owner (I think) of the restaurant also came out and gave us an extra treat to say thank you for visiting his restaurant. I assume this is more of a hole in the wall that tourists don’t usually go to, but I highly recommend it!
Their menu also changes up every day so just go with whatever the waitress recommends!

We had a great lunch here. The staff were very welcoming and the food was good. I had the artichokes as an appetizer and was tempted to lick the plate. My wife loved her salad that was surprisingly large. I had a steak that wasn’t too bad, though a little unevenly cooked. My wife had the goulash and it was very tender and flavorful. For dessert, she had strawberries and I had cheesecake. Nice place, cool vibes. We’d go again, for sure.

I don’t know how this place has 4+ stars. Had the worst meal of my week in Barcelona here. I asked for tips on what was good and was given a selection of three items:
Croquettes, which were deep-​fried balls of mashed ham and some other mystery. Not good.
A pizza-​like thing, flavorless and tasted/​looked like it was just in a plastic bag and frozen minutes earlier.
And some sort of cheese plate/​Brie thing that I actually don’t remember too much about. Fortunately my brain didn’t retain many memories about it.
These were the best three things on their menu, apparently.
Staff was very nice and the Estrellas are cold. I’d recommend coming for a cold beer and nothing else.

We went with two friends for lunch and we were all of us kinda disappointed despite the good reviews we read before choosing this place. The chef is very friendly and welcoming, but instead of bragging so much about his place and his food, he should spend more time in his kitchen focused on the dishes and keep his promises to cook only from scratch using fresh ingredients. The pumpkin soup was obviously a dehydrated industrial one, we got ripped off with the hamburgers since there was only the patty in the plate with no buns, cheese, tomato… Moreover the meat was overcooked and of very poor quality, despite the 2.9 € extra you have to pay compared to the set menu. One of my friend took the rabbit and there were twice more bones than edible meat in the dish… The desserts, apple and chocolate pie didn’t increase the level of mediocrity since they were processed and not home made. At the end of this disastrous meal, the happy go lucky chef behaviour becomes truly unbearable. He’d rather retrain as a street pedler and withdraw from cuisine forever.

Being silly American tourists, we came here for lunch at 12:30 pm. It was like walking into a ghost town. We were soon greeted by the chef/​possible owner, who was the only one there. He was very welcoming and kindly let us know that we should come back a little later for the best experience.
We came back at 1:30. The meal consisted of an appetizer, main course, desert and free drinks (water, soda and beer!). It was a set menu with a few options for each. I ordered a rice dish and the cod. The appetizer was a little disappointing and was rice, a fried egg and some plain tomato sauce on the side. However, the fried cod and the amazing chef definitely made up for it.
Will definitely make a point to make it back here if I’m ever in the area. It’ll seem like a hole in the wall from the outside, but you should give it a chance, especially if you’re staying close to the Sant Jordi Sagrada Familía hostel.

If you like seeing what local places to eat are like instead of the normal tourist places. I highly recommend this place as a go to place. Do not come around 12 in the afternoon because it will be dead. However, the owner/​Chef (family run restaurant) who has the best customer service I have ever had. Because he loves tourist to always come by inform me and my cousin to come later reason for the real «authentic atmosphere of Barcelona»
So we leave to come back an hour later to find a couple families there enjoying the food. We sat outside in the back to enjoy the weather. Little did we know it’s mosquito season in Barcelona (October) so in 15 mins we ended up sitting inside.
Later to be ordering certain dishes for each course of the meal. (appetizer, main course, dessert, Including drink) all for almost 10 euro. I ordered the egg and rice for appetizer it was kind of a disappointment. But the main dish was what made the food worth it; it was a roasted chicken with potatoes and tomatoes and was so rich tasting it made me want to come back the next day.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to try dessert because I had a ticket to go to the sagrada familia at the time. But overall the chef/​owner made it all worth the stay. His humorous ways to relate to tourist and his mannerisms to always keep you happy was the best part.
*if you are staying at Sant Jordi close to the church. Definitely go here to enjoy a good time.

Probably my favorite in Barcelona. Not far from the hostel we were staying at, it looked shabby at first. However once you step to the back it becomes completely different. The owner/​chef warmly greeted us and gave us a brief background of what he and the place was about.
I knew we made the right choice when I smelled fresh prawns being cooked for the paella.
The menu was small but everything seemed delicious. The chef even gave me and my friend a house wine that was simply amazing. The best part was that it had to be drunk out of a spout instead of the typical glass.
Im definitely coming back. Words cant really explain it but thats what pictures are for

Sans plus, ce qui est proposé à la carte n est pas disponible a 50%.Service très lent, un seul serveur un seul cuisinier, bref je né suis pas d’accord d’avec les avis jusque-​là déposés.en gros la carte est principalement composée d un large choix de hamburger, au demeurant excellents, pour ce qui concerne le Santutxo. Le décor est sympa sans plus. Bref allez y pour manger un hamburger mais comme spécialiste de Tapas, passez votre chemin.

After a quick Internetsearch we found this place. It really was exactly as others have described. Delicious and different tapas served by a congenial owner who is enthusiastic about giving diners a good time and value for money.
We were five people including three teenagers one allergic to nuts and one who won’t eat seafood so pleasing us is sometimes difficult. However, we all found several things we wanted to try and none of us was unsatisfied after the meal. The ambience in the garden at the back of the restaurant was friendly and congenial and we talked with other people at other tables, all of whom agreed that the restaurant was a «find».
Don’t be shy to ask the owner for recommended dishes and follow his advice regarding portions. He won’t try to sell you the most expensive or too much.

I found this place here at Unilocal and I have to say that it is exactly as described.
Very nice atmosphere, cosy and private and the host is so kind! He is very passionate about that restaurant, that’s for sure.
We’ve been there a little too early, around 11:30 so the menu wasn’t ready, but we were offered mushroom carpaccio which was very good.
It is located quite far from the touristic areas but it’s worth it to take a short walk off the track.

Découvert grâce à Unilocal,ce restaurant mérite ses 5 étoiles. L’accueil est chaleureux, voire légèrement extravagant, et la cuisine d’un bon rapport qualité prix. Comptez une dizaine d’euros pour une entrée, un plat et un dessert. Évidement à ce prix là ce n’est pas de la grande cuisine mais vous né serrez pas déçu. Toutes les boissons sont à 20 centimes si vous prenez le menu à 9.50 euros (le midi): eau, petit vin rouge léger et fruité. Le restaurant dispose d’une petite cours ombragée bien agréable.

Small preset menu for lunch: included an apetizer, entre and drink for under 10 €. And the quality you get for 10 € is a steal. You could easily pay 10 € for the entre alone at other restaurants especially if you’re in a tourist area. Staff is over the top welcoming. Cozy relaxing ambiance. Its authentic, delicious food at a price locals would pay. Food was excellent. Tapas in the evening times.

Descubrir un buen bar cerca de casa merece 6 estrellas! El santuxto se ganó un lugar en mi corazón, fui con un grupo de amigos un sábado por la noche y el ambiente era muy tranquilo y agradable, teníamos hambre así que el camarero muy amablemente nos guío sobre que pedir y debo decir que la comida aquí está buenísima, pedimos varias tapas: patatas bravas, carpaccio de ceps, crepes, pizzas ¡repetimos varias de ellas! Además el chico nos recomendaba de todo lo que había recién hecho, así que salimos con la barriga llena y el corazón más que contento.
Tienen una terraza interior que en ese momento estaba justamente cerrada pero parecía muy chula!
Si estas de camino un dia por aqui y tienes tiempo esta muy bien para probar, no tiene nada que envidiarle a ningún bar del centro.
Larga vida al santutxo!

Tienen una terraza interior para tomarte una cerveza con algo.
El menú de mediodía es sencillo pero acorde con el precio. Supongo que por la noche será un lugar mucho más animado porque las tres mesas del día que fui por allí eramos de lo más soso. (Lo normal, vamos).
La ensalada, bien y el ternasco bien también.
En cualquier caso Santutxo me salvó de la inanición un día de visita y mucho andar por Barcelona así que estoy agradecido por el buen trato y el menú razonable que me ofrecieron.

Restaurante para ir sin prisas. El dueño, Ismael un crack, el alma del local, os hará sentir como en casa. Personalmente recomiendo la especialidad de la casa: Hamburguesa Santutxo con ración de bravas en salsa super-​picante. Una apuesta segura.

Genial haber encontrado otro buen bar cerca de casa al que poder ir cuando visitan amigos o apetece una cañita. Me senté en la barra, que es una especie de vidriera llena de billetes y monedas de muchísimos países, así que estuve entretenido viendo el papel moneda de Singapur o Arabia Saudita mientras me tomaba una mediana bien fría. Los chicos que atienden tienen muy buen rollo y estoy seguro que son de los que si vas un par de veces ya te tratan como a un amigo de toda la vida… volveré!

Un bar de barrio con encanto. El interior es acogedor, con luz tenue y predomina la madera. Yo me senté en la terraza y pedí unas bravas que no estaban mal, aunque para mi algo dulzonas, pero eso va a gustos. Conocí este bar gracias a un amigo que vivía muy cerca. Fuimos un par de noches seguidas y me encantó. Y repetimos. Bar de barrio pero con más nivel y buen rollo que de costumbre. Isma, el jefe, es un crack y ameniza la noche en cualquier momento.
Lamentablemente, por lo que parece, no he probado más que las cuatro tapas típicas, unas bravas y unas croquetas, que estaban la mar de buenas. Las cervezas también estaban buenas (¡Ja!) y además eran baratas. El local es agradable y las sillas y taburetes son cómodos. ¡Es que no sé qué más queréis! Pues mira, los martes hay música en vivo y en directo. La verdad es que lo echo de menos, ahora que mi amigo (no es que tenga sólo uno, tengo dos o tres, pero éste es el que vivía cerca) ya no vive tan cerca. Yo a veces me paso por delante, justo cuando está cerrado, ¡ay!
Como curiosidad picante, allí oí por primera vez el concepto «sirena de barra», que un día os explicaré. En resumen: ¡id!, y, como decían los mejores poetas, comamos y bebamos, que mañana moriremos.

Celebramos un cumpleaños en la terraza en verano. Y nos atendieron con un cachondeo y buen humor excelente. No en vano cayeron las cañas y los vinos por un lado de la mesa y los helados por el otro.
La comida es excelente y lamento no poder asistir en las noches porque mis compromisos de jefe de manada me lo impiden y se ve que es muy entretenido.
Lo mas enrollado del barrio con diferencia y de precio solidario.

El Santutxo es un restaurante que adoro por muchos motivos. Todos de peso. En primer lugar hay que decir que todo lo que sirven es casero y de gran calidad. Allí comerás torradas, tapas, crepes, pizzas y otros platos muy originales. Y te gustarán. Créeme.
En segundo lugar, pero de igual importancia, es capital mencionar el trato con el que Isma te recibirá en su templo. De forma simpática y divertida te contará los platos que ofrece, detallando los ingredientes, y te hará recomendaciones y menús ajustados y variados. Si en el minuto dos de haber entrado al local ya te llama ‘cariño’, no pienses que se trata de un abuso de confianza. Se trata de su naturaleza amorosa.
Y por último, quiero decir que el local está decorado con gusto, es cómodo y limpio y ofrece soluciones para grupos sin ningún problema. Eso si, haz una reserva y aprovecha para enterarte de lo bueno; un día a la semana, ¡programan música en directo!
