On the way to parque Guell. A real tourist trap. We were starving so we decided to try for ourselves — even if we had read bad reviews. Meal of the day seemed good on the menu displayed outside but what we actually got served was more like: INSTANT miso soup, FROZEN chicken strips and crema Catalana out of a CAN… The restaurant is clean, modern and calm and the staff is pretty nice but they really need to change chefs… In a city like Barcelona, you can get awesome fresh produce, why use this cheap crap for the price it’s sold?! One piece of advice: don’t go! Go to a real tapas bar — if possible — without English translated menus.

Had late lunch after Park güell. Lunch set was fine and properly priced. Kids menu is too big. Sangria definitely a Highlight. Staff very friendly. Not budget but acceptable.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Park Guell. Ordered basic food to tide us over — quiche, croissants, juices, coffee and tea. The place was clean and service was decent. Nothing to go out of your way for… but a fine place to stop for a bite on your way to Park Guell.

Initially, I was turned off from this place, as I try to avoid the touristy places, but we had time to kill before Park Guell and we were STARVING. I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed. Our server was friendly and the food was great. They served things like pizza, but we avoided that for more traditional choices. We had an authentic Spanish tapa, and then a not-so-traditional tapa. But both were great. We got little a tapa of 5 toasted breads, each served with a different fish on top. Excellent. Also was a calamari app that was almost like a bomba made of something that resembled what I could only call a calamari cake(like crab cake with squid, get it?). Also excellent. And there’s free wifi, which is great for those of us travelling internationally without a corresponding phone plan!

NOVAYÁIS A ESTELOCAL. Ha sido denunciado por conducta homófoba y, además, la comida está fría y es carísima. Por no decir que los vasos estaban sucios. No perdáis el tiempo, en el barrio hay mill locales muchísimo mejores que este sitio. Ojalá lo cierren.

Please don’t go to Store Café… EVER…especially if you are simply visiting Barcelona. Here’s why: We are clearly not from Barcelona, yet every other establishment here has been patient with our attempts at fluent Spanish, and graciously welcomed or helped us. However, within 30 min of leaving Store Café, our credit card was used in the USA. The card we used has only been used one time in one country within the last 30 days — at Store Café, here in Spain. So it’s obvious where the card was stolen. Yes: Our mistake for letting anyone have the card alone to check out; however, it’s in very poor taste for any business who depends on tourism or repeat customers to be that horrible. If I could give them zero stars, I would. So disappointing. Please. Don’t. Go.

We stopped in to get a cup of coffee and relax for a few minutes while walking back from visiting Parc Guell. The environment was very chic and well decorated so we decided to pop in and check it out. We took a quick look at the menu and saw that they do serve sandwiches and desserts here, but we just wanted a drink. I ordered 2 café con leche and they served it up pretty quickly. At 2.50 euro each, it was a bit pricey in comparison to other cafes nearby. The servers at the bar were a bit snippy. Although the environment was warm and friendly, we did not get the same impression from them. 2 stars for service, but 4 stars on environment — so 3 stars average overall.
