Tapas & Beer

This place might have provided me with the worst food experience in Barcelona so far, well probably the worst food experience I’ve ever had in Spain. And I would say that I am not that difficult to please. Just a smile, remembering the orders correctly, serving warm food, don’t lie in the menu etc. is enough. This place couldn’t do anything of this.
1. Their tapas is overly priced (at least in comparison to similar places in the neighborhood i. e La Rambla).
2. They are snooty and doesn’t like if you ask them about their ingredients. I asked them ‘Is it real crab or crabfish in your seafood cocktail?’ and their answer was ‘It is as real as your imagine of a crab can be’. Excuse me? That’s not an answer. Anyway, they served me crabfish.
3. The paella they provided were supposed to be a seafood paella. It contained one shrimp, one blue mussel and one small scallop. And a lot of rice and probably fish stock bought from the supermarket.
4. We asked them about their desserts and the waiter suggested that an excellent choice was to try their vanilla ice cream. The «excellent choice» was C grade ice cream from small cups (the same as we saw in the local supermarket for half a euro just a day before)
5. They are bragging about FREE WIFI. Well, their wifi didn’t work and when we asked if the password for the wifi (it was password protected) they were telling us that «You don’t need a particular password, you can enter any combination you want!»… Uhm… Yeah.
6. ‘For a 1000 dollars, the anser says: Is this place serving you warm food” Well — not this place…
Well, I’ve had many pleasant meals in Barcelona but this is the worst. BEWARE and don’t let them trick us ‘tourists’ just walking by. BEWARE!

I had to come here every day I was in Barcelona, as our hotel didnt have the breakfast they promised. I think this was actually a better deal! Our choice of Juice, Coffee, Eggs, Salami, Bacon etc… They treated us very well, always accommodated our needs. Their prices are very reasonable and cheap compared to what you get one block up near Las Ramblas.
I also came here with our group for our last dinner, and they really hooked us up with the appetizers and meal. This place is great for groups or parties as they have a private area downstairs with its own bar and projector with sound system.
Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.
