The food looks very nice and the description of the different things doesn’t sound too bad but honestly… none of us (party of 5) was very happy with the taste. Two of us gave it another try 2 months later with the same result. This place looks nice but I wouldn’t go there again.

Just had brunch here this morning. Super sweet servers. Hubby had the jamon toast with a bloody mary and I had an apple/​celery/​pistachio salad with a mimosa. Of course we both had café con leches. It is small but super comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to others. All servers spoke english and they had an english menu which was handy.

Awesome place to study and get a snack, wouldn’t consider it a place for a full meal. Coffee and teas are fantastic. Pesto/​tomato bread is also very good, would highly recommend this!
Cool downstairs area that is quiet and allows for some studying to get done in this busy city.

This is a very nice bar in the close to Plaça Universitat and El Raval. There are good tapases and wines, but there isn’t Patatas bravas. :-(I like patatas bravas in Barcelona. :-)

We were actually looking for another restaurant, but after walking for ages we gave up and stumbled across Taranna. We were drawn in by the vibe of the restaurant and could see that there were many locals there and wanted a good authentic meal.
It can be communal style, so be comfortable sharing a table with strangers!
We ordered quite a few things:
— Salmon ceviche
— Chicken wings (teriyaki-​ish seasoning?)
— Figs with goat cheese
— Potatoes with herbs
And I do think there were a few other items, but I can’t recall what they were.
Regardless, all the ingredients tasted fresh and I really, really enjoyed the meal. Good vibes and good memories here!

Adorable indie café with wifi and great coffee! Good place to study! There is a basement section, as well, with plugs. Good music and good vibes. :-)

uno de los primeros locales diferentes del barrio. después se sumaron muchos más. ya se ha convertido en un clásico de St antoni. brunch, desayunos, algo para picar y alguna que otra tarta casera. Un lugar agradable si tienes que ir a trabajar un rato o a tomar un café con un buen libro.

This place is great all around! Very friendly neighborhood place, the staff are very sweet. I got a baked egg, spinach and ricotta dish. So good. Yummy food. Amongst all the touristy spots off Paral-​lel, it’s worth the tiny detour to find this place.

Bonito café con buenas opciones para comer. Sirven Brunch bien hecho. Lugar de moda para hipsters. La comida es buena, sobre todo el sandwich de pastrami.

Underrated! One of the best spots around for brunch/​lunch. The quiche alone is worth a visit. For dinner, ask for off menu beer. The staff are very cool and helpful.

One of my favorite cafés in Barcelona. Veggie friendly and have a superb Cava & beer selection. Menu changes daily, but you can always count on something mouth watering & diverse.

I was recommended to try this restaurant. I am glad that I went a little out of my way to stop here for lunch. There were several options on the menu and I chose the soup/​quiche option.
The soup of the day was the gaspatxo de sundria. As it was in the mid-​80s F, cold soup was ideal.
The quiche of the day was de carbasso i manxes. I haven’t had quiche at a non-​French restaurant before, but it was as delicious as I expected it to me.
I was about to ask for the check when I noticed a chocolate cake near the entrance. It turned out to be a chocolate/​peanut butter cake and reminded me of my favorite childhood candy, a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
Both of the waitresses were very helpful. Their fluency of English was better than my Spanish.

Carta no muy extensa pero con mucho fundamento, probamos el sándwich de pastrami que estaba delicioso 8/​10, y el de brie con tomate y anchoas de la escala.
Cosas sencillas, sin complicaciones pero bien hechas.

After a visit to the MNAC museum, we searched nearby and found this little spot. It was pretty crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but managed to find seating on the largest table which we shared with another group. The entire menu was in Spanish, but the waitress was incredibly nice and took the time to explain all the dishes. We got a steamed egg dish, some tapas, bocadillos and sangrias which were all delightful. It’s a nice little place away from most of the touristy parts of the city that was next to a subway station as well.

I’m rather surprised by the previous reviews and think that perhaps Taranna has come into its own a little bit since they were written. After a great afternoon at the Joan Miro foundation I walked down the hill into Poble Sec and happened into this great spot. I had the soup of the day and a bocadillo de fuet on a great, grainy baguette and enjoyed both of them thoroughly. I found the soup to be refreshing and yummy; creamy, minty and with perfect pepper and salt. Beyond the food I think the atmosphere is great; happy people, friendly staff and neat enough décor. While I didn’t try them the cakes looked great and there were several happy customers munching away. A solid café!

Tarannà es un local en el que aterrizar un sábado o domingo a mediodía y disfrutar de un brunch tranquilo en pareja.
¿Por qué un brunch? por su selección de platos ligeros pero a la vez abundantes especialmente pensados para esos días en que no deseamos comer demasiado ni queremos desayunar poco.
¿Por qué en pareja? El local es pequeño, bien decorado –ladrillo caravista antiguo, madera, mesas bajitas-​, y los comensales se ubican en mesas pequeñas con reducidas sillas, o en mesas compartidas.
No lo recomiendo para grupos grandes.
Consejo: Dejaros algo de hueco para el postre. Los pasteles tienen una pinta deliciosa.

Es uno de estos bares que están ahora de moda: local modernillo de madera dónde sirven vermuts, tapas, ensaladas, bocadillos diferentes, etc.
El espacio es muy agradable e invita a entrar a cualquier hora para tomar algo.
La carta es suficientemente extensa y tienen buena variedad de platos, además tienen platos de temporada.
La calidad de los platos, para mi, es lo que se queda un poco corto. Los productos son muy «average» y hace que ese plato que parece tan apetecible en la carta, no sea exactamente lo que esperamos. La proporción de ingredientes tampoco era muy acertada (ejemplo: exceso de salsa y escasez de pastrami en un sandwich).
La relación calidad-​precio es normal: bocadillo+hummus+ensalada+2 copas de vino=25 €
Es un lugar que no destaca por nada en especial pero la experiencia final es agradable.

Cute café with lovely décor and music. Sadly, though, just because the staff LOOK like they come from a hipster café in Melbourne or Portland it doesn’t mean their coffee tastes like it does.
With loads of pre-​ground coffee in the hopper and milk poured from a jug that presumably was steamed long before I even ordered (I was watching the barista after I orderd), my coffee was woeful.

lo encontramos de casualidad y su carta y decoración exterior nos animaron a entrar.
Es un local con muchísimo encanto en el que las mesas son comúnes y los camareros se sientan contigo a tomarte la nota y aconsejarte sobre el vino y el menú.
Pedimos a la carta y todo estaba realmente delicioso.
El precio fue muy acorde a todo y el trato durante toda la comida fue espectacular.
Lo dejo guardado en mi lista de favoritos para repetir!

El local es muy bien diseñado, con terraza, los camareros amables pero los platos son más bien normales. Ensaladitas, bocadillo, no hay mucha originalidad. Muchas platos estaban acabados, igual tuve mala suerte. El sitio podria ser encatador, merece otra visita.20 euros por persona.

Buscando un lugar para picotear por la zona del Paralelo — Sant Antoni, caimos en este local, decorado de forma rústica, como otros tantos de por la zona.
Con el buen tiempo de esta época, optamos por la terracita, nada del otro mundo. Para comer unas tapitas un poco justas de cantidad y no del todo caseras: aceitunas, almejas de bote, unos poquitos boquerones y nachos con guacamole, además de una ensalada césar, ésta de un tamaño mucho más correcto.
A destacar: ¡los postres! Preguntamos por algún tipo de postre especial de la casa y probamos una deliciosa, riquísima, exquisita (se me acaban los adjetivos) tarta de chocolate y Guinness (sí, sí, la cerveza) y otra de naranja y almendra, nada que envidiarle tampoco a la primera.

Perhaps we came on an «off» day — it happens… but there’s potential for greatness here.
The soup was under-​seasoned, and came out cold (we each sent ours back to get reheated)… and the salad was way too salty. I did like how it was more than just iceberg lettuce. The spring roll was also overly salty — but i liked the flavors.

Service — friendly but as typical here, rather slow — 5 stars
food — has potential, but not great today… the menu has a nice variety though. 3 stars

there’s an art gallery downstairs, though at the time of my visit, it was between exhibits.

So we went to one of the new hipster-​employing, hipster-​targeting cafés in the gentrified Sant Antoni. Not only was there nothing original on the menu (bacon & cheese, chicken & avocado sandwiches; patatas chips & nuestro dips!), the baguettes for the sandwiches were so over-​grilled, I almost chipped a tooth.
These wouldn’t have sufficed to make me pen this rant, but this exchange between me and the über-​hipster waiter deemed it unavoidable:
He brings us one menu for two people, so when I notice that I walk up to the counter and kindly and with a smile on my face say, «Perdona, me das otra carta, por favor?», he looks at me and says, «Hola!» I gather he hasn’t heard me, so I repeat, «Me puedes dar otra carta, por favor?» Then, the plaid-​aproned waiter replies, «Primero, hola!» Not only has he got his head so far up his ass that he thinks he knows everything better than other people, he also thinks he has a role in society whereby he can teach others the right way to behave.
A waste of money and time.

Lo que más me gusta de las vacaciones es tomarme mi tiempo para desayunar y hacerlo en condiciones. Cosa que no puedo hacer todos los días.
Soy una gran admiradora de los desayunos y brunch, hacen feliz a cualquiera. Lo que no hace feliz es que Barcelona tengan sitios tan bonitos y te sajen tanto dinero.
10 euros desayunar me parece una barbaridad, aunque este sitio es una preciosidad, ponen Belle&Sebastian mientras comes tus tostadas, y te ponen un café riquísimo.
Las mesitas comunales me molan, y las camareras fueron muy majas.
Las tostadas buenísimas y la mermelada de higos dulces la verdad que una pasada. Pero con que costase un poquito menos, la verdad que todos sería genial :)

El local es chulo y acogedor pero muy limitado en cuanto a carta. Bocadillos y ensaladas báscamente. He tomado un bocata y el pan delicioso pero el fiambre había que buscarlo con lupa. Desde los tiempos del cole que no me ponían un bocadillo tan escaso.
El servicio atento y agradable. Con bastantes diarios lo que se agradece para pasar un rato tranquilo de mañana de domingo
