Really good tapas in a good location if you are near La Sagrada Familia. We had lunch there later in the day and some fish was already sold out(good sign that things are fresh). Our waiter recommended clams with pesto sauce which was not on the menu. It was DELICIOUS. The bread was a bit soggy and could be skipped, but the fish was all fresh and prepared well. Salad with warm goat cheese was also really good.

Went with a friend to Tossa at 19:30(early dining by Barcelona standards). One waiter was waiting 10 tables — he was busy but as a professional he kept all of his tables satisfied. We ordered two beers and scanned the menu. Really, really good Catalan bread with tomato. We ordered the croquette assortment, salt cod with garlic, napoleon with apples and foie gras, pork loin with carmelized onions and a reduced brandy sauce, Roquefort stuffed baked potato and octopus with rosemary and potato. The pork loin was outstanding — lick the plate clean kind of outstanding. The rest of the dishes were also very good — better than tapas at other restaurants. This is a neighborhood bar with locals. I did not see any other tourists. Dishes arrived one or two at a time. Dinner — 2 hours. Check with 4 beers — 60 euro. Left satisfied and stuffed!

This place is on a small quiet street a bit away from tourist area. I like the low key, casual feel of sitting at table on the sidewalk. Best tomato bread I had so far. Grilled shrimps and clams in green sauce were memorable. I did try to find recipes to reproduce all the dishes I had at this place. Yeah… that’s how much I like their foods :) Waiter was very attentive yet non-intruding. He did not check on us every few minutes(but disappeared when we actually needed him… like here in the U. S lol), yet foods always came out at the right time, and he always showed up when we needed.

Next time I would order Ceps Croquettes(likely to be stronger flavour than the Foie) and the Clams(can’t see it on the menu, perhaps it was a special?). The bread should be automatic but if not, specifically request it. They offer grilled octopus, prawns and calamari which I find generally to be safe bets.

Nice neighborhood fare. Popular with locals. Service was good considering the restaurant was jam packed with many waiting patiently outside. Food was tasty but nothing that stood out.
