Gian Maria and Juan are some of the nicest, warmest and fun hosts you could hope for. They have a lot to tell you about, they’re extremely accommodating and laid back. I’m a serious cyclist(I consider a weekend incomplete without a 4 hour or more outing on my bicycle) and they are too; they’re the kinda people who can provide a tour for serious cyclists and casual ones alike, and as a Unilocaler, of course, I care a lot about my food and drinks, too! They know all the secret, truly local spots that still haven’t made it onto Unilocal and Tripadvisor. The tours are intimate, customized, and really something special. Even if you aren’t an avid cyclist like me, you’ll feel included, accommodated, and unpressured. They’re also awesome about taking photos as you ride, with some kind of uncanny balance I’ve never been able to master, snapping away as you focus on staying mounted! Makes for a great bonus that you’re sure to have the whole experience documented. Quite a bargain, too. I hate tours in general and usually like to roam on my own, but your trip for sure will be enriched with Veni Vidi Bici bike tours. :)

Bike Like A Local! DOTHIS! So fun! This is an intimate bike tour so you get the hosts full attention. Perfection. Kathy beat me to the review! I experienced this last week and checked in when they had no reviews so I was so pleased to see Kathy’s review pop up this week. She nailed it on the head. To summarize from her: «Honestly, the whole tour felt like we were just in town visiting a friend of ours who wanted to show us his favorite spots.» So. Very. True. We booked this tour for our second day in Barcelona and could not have spent the day in any better way. What a thrill. We took the metro and met Juan and walked over to their office/shop. Geared up and set out for some fun. It was 70 and sunny so the weather was the perfect backdrop to tour the coast. The four of us hopped on some road bikes and took off. We biked all along the coast while stopping at some local spots to grab a beer and some tapas. The very first stop was on the bridge on the beach. The mountains and water were perfection. We grabbed a beer on the beach and just relaxed. We learned about our tour guides and what they loved about Barcelona; I truly left with a piece of their passion for their city. I can’t wait to return. I was probably the slowest of the group but I was just taking it all in and everyone kept a nice pace. We ended up stopped at 3 different places and relaxing. It was the perfect mix of riding and resting and the backdrop to the entire day was perfection. I appreciated that they took photos the entire ride too, what a nice touch! What a fabulous way to get a deep, local look at such an amazing city. I can’t recommend this experience enough for either tourists OR locals.

I love bike tours. My husband and I go on those big groups ones in every city we visit. This tour was different and lovely and one that will help you connect with the city like no other. We did the winery tour version. I was a little intimidated at first. My husband used to road bike but I had never been on a road bike for an extended period. Juan was very patient in fitting me to the right bike. They’re as passionate about their bikes as they are the city and the tour so they want to make sure you’re comfortable. While riding, he rode at a pace that we could keep up with, not too fast but not too slow either. At one point we even sped past a large group bike tour(again, I love those too, they’re amazing in their own way) and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a thrill to pass them and feel like a local. Honestly, the whole tour felt like we were just in town visiting a friend of ours who wanted to show us his favorite spots. You won’t get information about the wars or the kings or Saint George(though I’m sure you would if you asked) but you will get a feel for the actual life and breath of the city and its people. As a rule, they don’t take large groups because they want you to see and experience the city like a local. Having a group with too many people changes the environment of the already small places you go to and that’s not what they want. Their goal is to help you see what Barcelona is really like through the eyes of the people who live there. For anyone that wants something a little different or a reason to fall completely head-over-heels in love with Barcelona, this is the tour for you. I recommend it wholeheartedly. And as a side note — when we get home I’m going to put some serious thought into getting a road bike.
