First, the address and location of this restaurant are incorrect as listed. The correct address is: Placeta del Aljibe de Trillo, 7. This is important because every street in this area of Granada includes Aljibe de Trillo in its name. As mentioned in other reviews, the view of the Ahlambra at sunset is breathtaking — worth the early arrival(say 8:30 — 9:00). We started with Serano Salad — basically a Caprese with ham instead of mozzarella. Tasty. Our fondues(traditional cheese and the trio of veal, chicken and pork) was well-executed and served with six interesting sauces. Overall, we found the food to be very good, but not remarkable. The experience, friendly service, fair prices and remarkable view warrant an added star.

What a great place. Tucked away in what seems like the middle of nowhere, you sit down at your table to discover an incredible view of the Alhambra. Like the others suggested, get there between 8:30−9 pm. The restaurant will be dead at this time, most Spaniards eat much later, but it will be worth the view. Wait staff is very friendly. They brought out a bowl of olives covered in a chorizo(sausage) grease. It was delicious and I don’t even like olives. Wine and sangria are delicious as the name would suggest. We got the the meat fondu which comes with 3 meats: pork, veal, chicken. And 6 sauces: my favorite was the oil and herbs. The meats were incredibly tender and flavorful. In the United States, I am used to fondues where you cook the meat in broth. Here you cook the meat in oil. It is a lot of food(meat in particular) and we didn’t have room for dessert. It was slightly on the pricey side but it was worth the view and delicious meats. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or small group gathering.

Yes, make sure you come just before sunset — in our case, the perfect time was 8:30PM so we could watch the sky light up the Alhambra for those few precious moments, and then watch as the sky grew dark and the Alhambra lights came on. Fantastic!(Diners who came at a more fashionably late time missed the sunset show.) We had the meat fondue to share, after a caprese salad. It came with 6 different sauces arranged on a rotating tray around the fondue dish. We felt a bit frazzled as we tried to keep up with cooking and coating our meat, but realized later there was probably no need to scarf it down quite so quickly. Topped our meal off with some amazing chocolate confections.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a restaurant with such an amazing view as El Agua. It sits in the middle of the Albayzin(Granada’s Moorish quarter) with a large terrace area that opens right out onto the Alhambra. Sunsets on summer evenings are out of this world, as the light changes colour on the palace before darkness descends, and it’s lit up. The food’s good, too. Fondue largely — of cheese or meat(with chocolate to follow) — washed down with a decent selection of wines. One for a romantic meal.
