Great breakfast, great service, and a great experience. Going here is always a pleasure and I am rarely dissatisfied! I would recommend the mini-cakes, hash-browns, or the biscuits. It’s one of my favorite places to go when I am looking for consistency.

Great breakfast ANDWONDERFULSERVICE! Service is a «team sport» here. Every server that walks by fills your coffee and makes sure everything is ok. My husband and I split a delicious Philly Steak omelet with a side of country ham. Everything was perfectly prepared and not greasy. People were extremely friendly. We would definitely go back!

Good, fast, good value for the buck. I was able to get my golf team in and out for breakfast with plenty of great food without breaking the bank. Will definitely be back!

We stopped here on the way back to Georgia. I should have stopped a Biscuitville or somewhere. You seat yourself which is ok but I prefer having a hostess as it’s more personable. I ordered two eggs scrambled hard and my wife ordered her eggs scrambled hard with cheese. I have only been to one other restaurant where if you ask for eggs with cheese that they melt a slice of cheese on top. That doesn’t taste good and it is lazy! How about using shredded cheese and cooking it with the eggs? Whjile you’re at it, add some salt and pepper to the eggs. Those were some of the blandest eggs I’ve ever had. I did add pepper to mine. No dice. The pancakes were meh. The bacon was about the best part of the meal. Very lackluster meal. We left highly disappointed. We will not return again.

The best breakfast value in the area. Often crowded but don’t let that stop you from going. The service is efficient even if crowded. Staff very friendly and outgoing. Reasonable prices. There’s a reason this place is often full.

I was very underwhelmed by Macs. My eggs were runny, french toast was undercooked, and I’m pretty sure the«ham» came from a can. Also they don’t have poached eggs. The only nice thing about my breakfast experience was the waitress.

New Décor, run like a precision operation… lots of home cooked meals and an owner that cares! Seafood Friday nite!

I love Mac’s! Sunday tradition to go there for Pancakes or HoBo Sandwich. Great service and the portions are plentiful.

We stopped here when we came to do the Reindeer run. It was freaking packed and we almost didn’t get a spot so I knew we had to come here. Okay, so the service/order accuracy wasn’t that great, but it was really busy. Everyone at my table cleaned their plate. This place has the bomb ass m’f’ing pancakes that any restaurant makes. Seriously, get the pancakes. I always end up getting these corncakes/faux buttermilk pancake wannabes and this time, they were really yummy. All of our servers were really nice, but very rushed because it was crazy in there. I would damn sure come back if i’m ever in the area. It’s cute and full of locals. Good solid food and the prices were really good for how good the food was. It pays to be away from the city sometimes.

Have eaten here twice and I will plan to every time I come home for a visit. The food is always hot and comes out quickly. The menu is extensive for country diner food. I haven’t eaten anything other than breakfast but by the looks of their specials, they serve everything from fish to spaghetti to meatloaf. There are many regulars that were here both times my wife and I have come. The staff is nice and hard working. If you are in the area and are looking for solid diner fair that the locals trust, stop in!

Stopped in on our way North based upon the Unilocal reviews. Just needed a decent breakfast and coffee. This place did not disappoint. Pulled in and the parking lot was full… a good sign. Seated right away and food within ten minutes. Down home cooking and friendly staff… Would definitely return.

Great place to eat breakfast especially if you are a late sleeper. The place was busy when we went, but didn’t have to wait to get seated or to order. They are very efficient and quick with orders and the wait staff all help each other. The food was fine, no problems. Just an average breakfast, really hard to mess up breakfast. They are very generous with the home fries and the bacon! And, the drinks keep coming as long as you need them to.

Service was super polite and fast, food was delicious and definitely a bang for your buck! I recommend the breakfast meal deals, so much for so little!

I think it’s maybe a touch below Waffle House, I’d give it 3.5 out of 5, or 70% out of 100%. My omelet was okay, but I like my grits with cheese, and the biscuit wasn’t fluffy. Coffee was okay, not great. Service was good.

Good diner food. Breakfast that will stick to your ribs. Sometimes you wait a few minutes for service, but that is usually only when it’s packed.

I don’t write many one star reviews but I have been here twice and both times the food made me sick. Service was impersonal and rushed. There are better places in town.

My family and I love this place for breakfast, we don’t really go at any other time, so this review is just about the morning crew and food. It’s a no frills breakfast joint, so don’t go in looking for a 3 Michelin experience. The staff is friendly, the food is classic southern breakfast fare, and the coffee is always, always good. I won’t go anywhere else for breakfast. Pro tip: get the hungry man and share if you want a little bit of everything. We have kids, and it’s hard to know what they’ll eat day to day. Either way, we rarely walk out with anything left on our plates no matter what we order.

Reason for visit: usually breakfast after a long night or day off. Well is time for me to review this place. We come here often just for simple basic diner. Location is a great spot if you’re visiting the area and staying your Aberdine or Southern Pines. The price is a little bit cheaper then Betsy scrapes or some of the other fancier breakfast spots but if you’re just looking for bacon eggs toast and a smile with a hot cuppa coffee this is a place. The service is very attentive, almost too attentive. Your Casaly being ass if you’re okay and you’re quickly satisfied once you have a issue. The food is your basic diner food. There are some dishes that are pretty good but generally the omelettes and the sides will fill you up and leave you happy. Now it is not the healthiest meal, but is definitely good.

Except for the bikers in the parking lot, either gathering to depart or arriving from a recent ride, Mac’s looks like any other transformation of a previous prepackaged restaurant like a Shoney or Denny’s. Once inside the bus station tiled floor, plastic plates, typical thick base and handled coffee mugs on laminated wood grain tables with vinyl padded booths and chairs gave me a feeling I walked into a place just a few notches above the olé Waffle Town truck stop. The big differentiator on my first impression that kept me from turning around, despite the«no hostess on duty» seat yourself sign, was the courtesy and the efficiency moving around the restaurant. It took all of 10 seconds before I was greeted with«sir, honey, darling, etc» that typifies the southern hospitality… and to be honest it made me feel welcome and comfortable to be there. Service: I grabbed a booth directly across form the counter in front of the kitchen pass through window because it was the only one available. From the moment I sat down my server was at the table offering to get me something to drink. She came back in what seemed like less than a minute with some Strong Coffee and water and ready to take my order. It ended up needing a little more to figure it out but while I stumbled through my choices on the relatively small menu of breakfast items at least two other servers stopped to check on me. When I finally made my mind up on a few choices my server was able to tell me if the Corn Beef Hash, the Gravy or if the Grits were homemade nor was she familiar enough with the menu to know what side came with my order having to pull out her own menu for reference. Food: Feeling a bit unhealthy I decided on the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. I also opted for the homemade biscuit and dang glad I did it was outstanding! Extremely fluffy and tasty be sure to order the biscuits. The gravy however tasted good but as if it cam from a can. The hash browns were rather bland and slightly brunt. Maybe I should have chosen the home fries? My eggs were cooked to order, not under or over done and the steak was pretty good too. It had the right amount of crust cover from the fryer but to be honest I really couldn’t tell if they pounded out a piece of steak or a prepackaged burger and spiced it up. Regardless, the seasoning and gravy made it a good(unhealthy) meal and, except for a tiny bit of hash browns, I cleaned my plate. Cleanliness: Tables were clean but the bowl that held coffee creamer at my booth had some remnants of fruit peelings. The floors were clean but not spotless or sticky. The kitchen, from what I could see through the pass through window, looked clean as well. The restroom however needed some cleaning. The floors were dirty and the sink could use a wipe down. Overall: Mac’s isn’t your Pinehurst Golf breakfast joint but what it is… is a dang nice place to eat. The people are real and the food is good but what gives Mac’s my recommendation is the totality of the joint. It just has the right feel. I’ll be back at Mac’s when I return to the area but not after a quick stop at Sizzlin Steak & Eggs across the street to compare. All that being said I give it a GREASYSPOONRATING of 3.5 Stars, rounded up, to 4 because they’re «just so sweet.»
