Very taste crab cake… Pizza was better than New York pizza, But not quite Chicago style. the crust was very good, the sausage was taste– a fennel taste/but need more red sauce– but thats just how the make it here… This is only the second time ive eaten a crab cake… This one was much better from the one i had last night at a tavern… Their tarter sauce is great

The service was great, but for a place supposedly specializing in pizza, I was extremely disappointed. Very generic in all aspects.

Continuing my trend of only reviewing what I consider to be top notch food, Boxhill is a bona-fide gem of a food establishment. I can comment on two food items, which are the crab cakes and the pizza. Fantastic. The pizza is crisp and chewy, with a heap of quality toppings. The crab cakes are huge and jumbo lump. What else can I say? Everyone who lives in the area already knows about this place so I’m not really saying anything new. If you’re new to the area or visiting, like me, this place is a must go. P. S. I met the Ravens starting nose tackle, Brandon Williams, here. Not really relevant to the review, just trying to get some cool points. B-)(I’m cool)

I got a large pizza with mushrooms as well as a crabcake. The crabcake, as always, was top notch. It continues to be my favorite ever and it is no wonder it consistently is rated in the top 5 in Baltimore. I would, however, like to complain about their use of canned mushrooms. The pizza was otherwise delicious but the canned mushrooms ruined it a bit for me. Please start using fresh mushrooms and a 5 star review will be easily achieved.

Great friendly staff and the food was off the chart! The crab fries were so good! And the side Greek side was the size of a lunch salad and not shy with the feta! But the crab cakes are hands down the best I’ve ever had! So big and not so much filler! Gotta go see for yourself!

Decent crabcakes, a little too wet in the middle for me, I prefer more of a well done crabcake, I felt they couldve broiled them a bit longer… While we got a good amount of crab meat, we also got a little too much binder, definitely not impressed with the fries tho. Would’ve gotten the fried crabcake but from reviews and word of Boxhill staff, nobody really likes them lol. Wait time(takeout) was decent.

I’ve lived in Maryland my whole life and haven’t found better crabcakes anywhere else. When family visits from out of state they always insist we go to Box Hill.

Box Hill may be known for their crab cakes and pizza, but steer clear of the boneless wings. Clearly microwaved, very hard, and we’re not edible. If you are not going to serve food well, don’t serve it.

Excellent crab cakes. Stopped in here for dinner. The crab cake was huge and delicious. Served with French fries and a truly good coleslaw. Came back the next day for lunch and had terrific bean soup and a tasty grilled cheese sandwich. I’ll be back.

I discovered this place a little over a month ago and I wish I lived closer, I am very impressed with their DELICIOUS crab cakes! this place«takes the CAKE» Literally! I’ve never had a better crab cake and I’m a GOOD cook, they beat mine by a long shot. I travel to DC1x a month and I make sure I allow time for a delicious meal! The wait staff is average/friendly, one time they met a toddler at the front with a basket of goodies for the baby to play with and keep! They don’t have fancy plates, cups, but for what you pay for the dinner,(~$ 21.00) it comes with salad it’s a GREAT Deal!

Best crab cake I’ve ever had on the west coast and east coast. The rest of our food was good but, the crab cake took the prize!

Friendly staff, service is good just keep in mind to get one of the best crab cakes you’ll ever have you will have to wait 15minutes. It’s so worth it! Pizza and subs look great although I didn’t try anything but the crab cakes. Nice dessert selection too.

I don’t get the hype at all. I have lived in Maryland for over forty years and these are very mediocre crab cakes at best. Pricey, mayonnaisey and just plain bland. 5 out of 10 on the crab cake.

Best crab cakes Around! Grew up by this place, and always make time to visit when I am home. The crab cakes are so full of jumbo lump and so delicious! Yum! My friends where I live now absolutely love when I order them and have them shipped!!!

Easily the best crab cake I’ve ever had. I couldn’t telling it was the buttery meat or seasoning. It didn’t have a heavy old bay taste. Just good, buttery crab

Little hole in the wall just got to get past the window. Portion size is good and overall that the quality was exceptional. Do not let the pizzeria confuse you crabcakes are definitely delicious! One drawback is the cost, little pricey. Would definitely recommend.

This rating is for the crab cakes and the pizza. This is Box Hill Pizzeria after all, so I also ordered a pie. After hearing everyone north of Baltimore rave about Box Hill, I finally gave it a shot. The crab cakes were solid. I didn’t find them to be anywhere near the best in Baltimore and the price was a little on the high side. I tried both the broiled and fried preparations. There was a decent amount of lump crab meat and the seasoning was pretty light allowing the crab to remain the focus. I was very disappointed to find canned mushrooms on my pizza. As a rule, I usually won’t return to a pizzeria that can’t bother to use fresh ingredients. The pizza itself was decent with plenty of cheese. Bottom line, this is just an average neighborhood pizza place with a solid crab cake. Calling it «world famous» is a bit of an exaggeration… Maybe«Harford County Famous,» but that’s even a stretch.

The service was the best and the food even better. The waiter was very informative and didn’t up-sell me, however I did up-sell myself and tried a lot of different items. So worth it… Must try the Crab Cakes… They are the best I’ve ever had… That is a bold statement, but it’s true… If I was going to die and it was my last meal, I would want this crab cake a slice of their delux pizza. Ok, maybe two crab cakes. I will fly back for the food. Thank you for a great experience.

12÷26÷14 I give this **UPDATE** with a heavy heart I always was a 5⁄5 fan. All my friends were. Read my previous review. We were at a Funeral Home viewing tonight on Bel Air Rd. I convinced 2 of my friends to go here for the Crab Cakes. PACKED. It was maybe 5:30pm? WE got 2 broiled CC, small Greek Salad, Fried Rockfish Strips w/Texas Pedal Sauce, Cream of Crab soup. Shared everything This review is for the CCONLY. Everything else was VERYVERY good. I could drink that Greek Salad Dressing. I was actually embarrassed about the CC, because i had hyped them up so much. There were so few lumps, some shredded meat and so much filler. They were pretty bad. My only hope is that they got so busy they tried to «thin out» what meat they had to get through the night. If so, i’d rather they just made them like they had before, and just run out. I REALLYREALLY hope the owner isn’t trying to make more $$ by making them like this now. He has the crowds. So, crowds + cheaper product = more money in his pocket. Like i said, i REALLY hope this isn’t the case. It’s not a seasonal issue, because i have gotten them all year round and have always loved them. Maybe it was the batch we had? Who knows? My plan is to go back when they are slower. Like off holiday, after lunch and before dinner and see what they are like then. If they are the same as they were tonight, i’m done I hope the owner sees this and gives me some type of answer, because i always was a huge fan. This was my favorite CC not only in the Balto/Metro area, but anywhere. It was a very disappointing evening CC-wise
