So I came here with my grandparents one night for dinner. So we all ordered burgers, well sadly my burger and my grandma’s was not cooked all the way through. So we didn’t even eat most of it, I’m always nervous about sending food back to the kitchen as well. We did let the staff know politely and the waitress apologized. It seemed it took a while before we received our dinner as well. The service was ok as well.

Its the best little diner in Central California. I am talking about«ITIS, WHAT. ITIS !» Seating is limited. But everything else fast and surprisingly good ! Its kind of hidden and beside a new truckstop. Where else can you find an omelet with Portugese sausage, mushrooms, onions and pork loin pieces in? Left side. The sign says: Its what it is !

I tried it. I liked it. I will be back. A hidden little local gem on the frontage road off of 99. It is located on the west side of 99 just north of the Jahant road over crossing close to Subway and a gas station in the Jahant Food & Fuel Center. Good food, decent prices. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast and coffee…$ 11 and change. Comes with a decent size chicken fried steak(real steak), great gravy, your choice of toast, your choice of potatoes and two eggs. Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers for the positive reviews. I will be back to try other menu items. Note: they close at 3PM not 10PM. Correction submitted.

Headed down the 99 from Reno and found this place on Unilocal! We were wary at first from the looks of the small building but they have GREAT food! They have ½lb hamburger patties that are delicious. Plenty of room for big truck parking too! We will definitely be stopping here again when we are in the area!

We were headed to the Airport Café but learned it closes at 230 weekdays. A gentleman at the airport suggested the«burger joint» just down the frontage road. Didn’t look like much, previously a drive in, next to a gas station. We decided to try it since it was recommended. The burgers were great. Learned he makes up his own fresh meat patties & bakes his own bread buns. Grilled onions on the Woodlon Burgers. My two teenage boys loved them! Shakes, Salads, etc. one said it topped his favorite In N Out Burger. My husband had a grilled ham &cheese. Small air conditioned seating area, take out window, or outside picnic tables.

Great prices and food though its real small inside so sometimes there’s a table sometimes not. Lots of outdoor seating though when the weather isn’t to bad one way or the other. Breakfast is great and there burger are ½ patties… so youll enjoy whatever you get.

Small place, but excellent grub. Went in one night after an afternoon of shooting and had a burger w fries. Very juicy, seasoned perfectly w a simple salt and pepper. Amazingly soft bun and fresh, crisp vegetables. Fries were crisp and freshly fried. Simple and delicious. Best way to describe my experience, and man did it hit the spot.

I have been here some 5 times now and it’s a good burger and fries for $ 5.95. The décor is rustic and would make Chef Robert of Resturant Impossible cringe. It has potential and with about $ 5k and more fries per serving I might come back.

We were not impressed with our hamburgers. No seasoning and the bun was way to thick and dry for the amount of meat. Would we go back? Maybe for something else, but not for The Woodlon Burger. 1 to10 rating? 3 at most. Sorry guys, we really need a good place to eat out in this area and so far we are not impressed. Also, having a web page to see your menu would be helpful.

Went for breakfast on a Friday about 11am, seating is limited to 28. Dining area was almost full. The staff is very friendly. The menu has a good selection of items. I ordered the pancake platter($ 5.95) it comes w/2 eggs, 2 thick good size pancakes, and choice of meat. I choose the thick(tasty) bacon. Meal was great. Was asked 4 times if we needed anything else. From what I seen coming out of the kitchen, for other customers. It was all GOOD! Their breakfast(Chicken fried Steak) looked GREAT! the chicken fried came on it’s own plate, from the rest of the meal. The staff even helped seating with our 2 physically challenged members. We well definitely be back.

What is a WOODLON??? There isn’t a road in Acampo named Woodlon. I, myself, have never heard of a Woodlon… anything! That’s what I asked the waitress after a Bike Ride to The Woodlon Diner today… She replied that it’s a conjugation of parts of the owners’ names:(Wood)y and Way(lon). The senior member of the ownership was a Cook at Wine Country Casino and Restaurant( ). The junior owner learned his craft at a Culinary School and was a Cook at a Casino in Placerville. The Woodlon Diner has been open for about a year or so… On the menu… Woodlon Burger(*** $ 4.95)( )( ) A half-pound Hamburger Pattie with Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, and a Special Sauce between a buttered and toasted Bennett Bakery Bun(of Sacramento). The problem with this Burger is the lack of cohesion of the various flavors… the Grilled Onions were pretty tasty; the Special Sauce(which the waitress refused to divulge…) mad the Hamburger Pattie intriguing; and there was a lack of flavor in the Hamburger Bun despite the Toasting & Buttering… But when you take a bite, though… it seems the all the flavors negate each other and the overall flavor is totally lacking. Another problem is that the Cooks like to use the Outer Leaves of the Lettuce, which are the toughest. This is not the only restaurant that does that… Carl’s Jr also has this tendency. Don’t be tempted to use the large outer leaves just because they’re large… use the inner, softer leaves… Extras: $ 0.50 for Mushrooms, Jalapeño or BBQ Sauce. $ 1.00 for Bacon, Egg, Chili, Extra Cheese or Onion Ring. The Woodlon Burger is cheap enough… but lacked the flavor that I would come back for… Double Breakfast Sandwich(*** ½ $ 4.75)( )( ) Want a larger Sausage Egg McMuffin? Well… Woodlon Diner can make one… or, in this case two… with this entrée. You’ll get two(2) English Muffin Sandwiches with Egg… lots of Egg…, Sausage Pattie, Cheese between toasted & buttered English Muffins. Each Sandwich is about double the size of the McDonald’s variety… Coffee(*** $ 1.50) Just Average Coffee… The Woodlon Diner has an unusual ordering procedure for a side of French Fries… If you order any drink AND a Sandwich… just add $ 0.50 for a Side of Fries(*** ½). The French Fries were pretty good, but just a paltry amount though. Value(**** ½) I’ve got to admit this about this Diner… you get a LOT of food for the money… a LOT of Food! Be realistic, though, this food IS Truck Stop food… Demographics: Everyone, except me, was a Truck Driver.

Have flown by on Hwy 99 south more times than I can remember. The previous incarnations of this truck stop diner caught my eye but couldn’t draw me in. But then… voila…the semi-trailer atop this diminutive diner with a maximum capacity of 28… I had to stop. And so, today, I did! Early morning, gray skies, first cold days of winter and heading to Lodi, I needed a breakfast fix. Exit Jahant Road, make the right turn and into the truck stop, gas station, mini-market parking lot and pull up in front of Woodlon Diner. The name — two owners: Woody and Waylon. Luck was on my side. I got the last booth and slid in. The waitress smiling and cheerful quickly had my coffee on the table. I checked the menu. All the breakfast usuals: Eggs, meat, biscuits, gray, chicken-fried steak, home fries but then this… the prices are insanely low. The co-owner chef told me they want good comfort food at reasonable prices. They have succeeded! I ordered the pancake combo: two eggs, two flaps, and choice of meat. But then I heard they had a house special French toast(some long ago family secret recipe) and I asked if I could change my order. Not a problem! Yikes, insanity I tell you. The eggs arrived perfectly over medium. The crispy bacon(3) strips and two crispy pieces of French toast with sweet butter. Yes, real butter. None of that artificial crap most restaurants serve, The stuff won’t melt. And the eggs had been cooked in real butter, too! Praise the Lord! The cost with coffee not including tip? A whopping $ 8.10. Is this crazy or what? Want to check them out for lunch or dinner? Hand-formed burgers on buns from Stockton bakery Genova. Homemade pies. Yep, it all sounds good to me. Hope locals will embrace this funky roadside, road food star.

Tasty, inexpensive breakfasts. All the locals are taking a shine to the place though, so be prepared… some mornings it’s packed. Breakfast sandwiches are $ 5, they have breakfast burritos, the bacon is high quality and the pancakes are great. They have a «special recipe» french toast, but it’s not like momma fixed it. They do a surprisingly good poached egg, though! My husband is a big fan of the chili burgers(poor me!)

Gracious me, this is a real diner – in a vintage building, serving real diner food, what a find. I am working my way up and down highway 99 for a photo project, and this is just the type of business I am looking for. At first I was going to just order from the window and take it to go, but when I peeked inside I changed my mind. There were several people sitting down and when their food went by my table it looked really good. I ordered a hotdog, it was cooked under the broiler, and there was no soggy bun with the dog, it was toasted. The people working in the diner were very pleasant.
