As a local watercolor artist it was vital for me to learn how to do my own framing-and Quill & Press was/is my ace in the hole! I’ve got to know Greg downstairs who has always been knowledgeable and helpful re frames, mats, ordering paint and picking out supplies. I buy the Palettes brand mats and Framatic frames mostly in 12×16 and 16×20; I learned how to use the linen tape for mounting mats to my art, then do-it-yourself framing, sliding the piece into the channels, closing it with springy clips holding it all together. Now I’m wiring with little holed pieces snapped into the channel, tie overhand knot and twist using pliers/wire cutters. Hew! The sawtooth hangers that come w frame nice but galleries demand the wiring… anyway I’m very happy Quill & Press is so available for my needs, despite a sometimes dicey commute on Rte. 27 off 2 or 2A from two suburban towns away.

I love Quill and Press! I live in Seattle but every time I come to visit MA, I go to this store. They have a great selection of personal calendars, office supplies, cards and stationery. The best thing I love are the reading glasses. They are the best I’ve ever seen. The one thing I would say is they need to bring in more«green» cards. I don’t like buying thank you notes in plastic boxes and would like them to bring in cards in boxes that are recyclable. Carrie

Admittedly, it took me three years of living in Acton before I ventured in. It always caught my eye but I just never stopped. Boy am I glad I finally did! What a gem! I’m no artist so can’t speak to the lower level art supply room, but the main floor has a wonderful selection of greeting cards, party goods, stationery, and gifts. I am always pleased to find some unique, but lovely, items here — and happy to support a local business! It’s worth the stop!

I love this store! It has a ton of greeting cards and a nice selection of stationary as well as a nice selection of art supplies on their lower level(the stairs are kind of hidden to the lower level so ask if can’t find them). They also sell little gifts and nice pens as well as a whole load of stickers. I think their prices are competitive and, in fact, I bought a few art supplies to do crafts with my toddler and they were less expensive than online. I look forward to coming back here when I, hopefully, get back into doing watercolor. The staff is friendly too!

Love going to this art supply shop, even if the selection is not strictly what you’d find in an art store(lots of greeting cards and stationary which take up about 50% or more of the shop space). The most fun I have there tends to be uncapping as many pens and sampling them as I have time for. If not for Quill & Press, I might have missed the mechanical Sharpie revolution altogether!

Expensive art supplies. Expensive. Not the best selection, for me, either. But, it’s got some nifty stuff, and it’s really clean, and the staff are helpful. They do framing, too.

A great store, with the best selection of unique greeting cards, the best holiday cards, and an entire basement level of art supplies, including some fun items like origami kits, not to mention office supplies and stationary you won’t find elsewhere.
