I ordered take out in person… big mistake. I was told it would take 20 minutes and instead it took 35. The almond chicken and fried mushrooms are good but the chow mein wasn’t great. I also got the tiramisu which was good but I would have liked it to be a little more chilled. They really need take out menus so I can order in advance before coming.

We are staying in Acton while my hubby works as a travel nurse. We were looking for a quick meal that didn’t require a trip to Palmdale after hubby’s 1.5 hr commute. He had two soft beef tacos that he said were the best he ever had. The Rigatoni Pancetta was flavorful with a Rosé sauce that was not too heavy. However, either the pancetta was over cooked or domestic(breakfast-style) bacon was used. I still enjoyed it enough to take the uneaten portion home. The only truly negative comment I have is that the salt and pepper shakers could have used a dumping and run through the dish-washer. The service was fast and attentive yet non-intrusive. We will definitely return.

My favorite place to eat in Acton. The owners are super nice people. Food has never been a disappointment. The food is fresh so may take a while but always great. I am a vegetarian and they have always been able to make the soups I love with a vege broth. It is nice to go to eat where you are greeted with a smile and they remember you.

Easily one of the quirkiest restaurants, ran by some really sweet people, that serves phenomenal food, that I have ever been to! Phew, that was a mouthful. Speaking of mouthfuls — you should have many here. The portions are huge and there are plenty of choices. My favourite is the pork fried rice. Such a simple dish, yet many places screw it up, royally. Wences makes it to perfection with big, juicy chunks of pork.

I have only tried the Chinese, although they serve a variety of other foods,(Italian and Mexican). It’s good considering it’s local. Every now and then the won ton soup will be overly salty but their main entrees, paper wrapped chicken and egg rolls hit the spot when you are craving some yummy Chinese and don’t want to drive! Plus side is family owned, everyone is nice, but I usually to take out anyways.

I went the first week Wence’s opened. I was very disappointed. I find that if a business, particularly a small business, tries to do too much they end up doing nothing well. We ordered Italian and I can make better myself. The soda’s were served from cans. The staff(although nice and family run) was very inefficient. Small town, small scale and no talent for the food service industry. While this might serve the pallet of the seriously culinary uneducated locals, it will not meet the average, experienced diner’s tastebuds. Give it a miss and get something else.

Fine food, excellent service, brilliant location — nestled in a valley surrounded by hills in the picturesque city of Acton. I often go here with my wife. We love eating out and when we’ve had enough of Antelope Valley, we drive to this tiny gem. Mr Wence, the owner of the restaurant is a very friendly men and a good cook. He makes sure you go back filled, satisfied, and happy. And it doesn’t burn a hole in my pocket. His son Caesar and Mr. Wence take personal interest in YOU and your tastes. He can alter the dishes to your liking(at your request). I have only had Chinese food here(although its a multi cuisine restaurant) and garlic chicken is abs mazing and if I may say so the noodles(lo mein) they serve can beat any Chinese restaurant’s noodles in AV. They are abs yummy. Also the fried rice they serve(with their best compliments) with main entrees like garlic chicken, chicken and broccoli etc. is delectable. All in all, it has consistently been a wonderful experience each time I visited this gem of Acton. I chat a lot with the friendly father and son duo whenever I go there and feel at home. Highly recommend this restaurant. Two thumbs way up :)

Atmosphere is cozy and the food was delicious. We ordered orange chicken, beef with green onions, broccoli chicken, and egg rolls. They even made a custom orange chicken with cashew dish for takeout, which was a plus. Great choice for Chinese in an underserved area! For a restaurant only capable of seating five to six groups, they were unable to smoothly handle the capacity when the Saturday dinner rush hit. The waiter’s attention was completely diverted to the new customers. Looking forward to trying some of the Italian dishes. Crossing my fingers that the service improves.

Family owned local business with a positive attitude. The staff recognize our voice when we call in for take out and their food is usually on point. Dining in can be a bit awkward as it’s pretty small inside, but where Wence’s lack space they make up for in portions. They serve almost anything you’d want(Mexican, Chinese, American, Italian). We personally love the Kung Pao and Orange Chicken(and if you like heat in your chinese food, ignore the menu indicators and make sure to order SPICY!), their alfredo is great comfort food and they have good burgers too!

I have been passing this place for 16 years. About two months ago I finally went and and had the cashew chicken and egg rolls. A few days later I went back and I had the orange chicken and veggie chow mein. I’ve probably been there about six times in the last two months and I have not been disappointed. I am only disappointed I didn’t try it sooner. I haven’t tried their Mexican, maybe next time.

Always happy to eat here. I usually order delivery and am never disappointed. Yes, they get busy; yes, it’s a small place, but I have always been happy with the food, staff, and service. For me, it’s not the same as eating in Chinatown or Little Italy, but seriously, it’s a rural town surrounded by western and mexican food and they try very hard to cater to the tastes of locals and visitors. 4 stars for quality and service. 5 stars when they stop selling soda in cans and kick things up a notch.

I’ve given this place two chances and I’ve been disappointed both visits. The first visit was with my family for dinner, shortly after the place opened. We went in, un-greeted, sat ourselves and weren’t acknowledged for about 8 mins. The place is tiny tiny, so it was obvious that we hadn’t been greeted. Once the server came by there was no apology for the delay. We ordered waters and then waited, waited and then finally got up and walked out. I returned yesterday for lunch, with a friend and our kids. We were greeted and given menus within a reasonable time, which gave me hope that the service had improved. The menu was broad, Chinese, Mexican and American food. Kids menu was decent. Water glasses are tiny and I had to ask for it to be refilled. The food came out for my son and I, but my friend and her daughter waited another 10 minutes for their meals. Again, no apology for the delay. After both of my disappointing visits, I will not return. I’ll stick with the always fresh and friendly Rustic Café.

I would rather drive out of town to get good Chinese food. I ate here once and never again.

Stopped in for some Chinese. We ordered, egg rolls, pan fried noodles and pork lo Mein. Egg rolls were still frozen in the middle. Pan fried noodles were great. Lo Mein was really salty and too much sesame oil. Service was fast, hence the one star. Waiters not very friendly. Will not be back.

Love this place! Great service awesome food. All of the pasta sauces are made fresh and from scratch. The beans are to die for they taste just like my mom’s beans«home made» not out of a can! Definitely recommend everything on the menu.

We eat here occasionally since we are Acton residents, and there sure aren’t any other Chinese restaurants for miles and miles. The food is GREAT, almost rivaling what you would find in an authentic Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. A couple of my favorite dishes are orange peel beef and three sizzling soup. They have a tendency to be a bit slow in this restaurant, so if you are impatient and want instant gratification, look elsewhere. The only other annoying thing is that they don’t beverages from a tap, so your bill can quickly become inflated if you drink more than one soda(served from the can).
