I was looking for a convenient take out, and Saburba seemed promising, based both on its high rating and its interesting menu. Having just finished a meal from there, I find the high rating inexplicable. I ordered two dishes: the cuban reuben and the caesar salad. Of these two, the salad was the more notable dish, albeit barely. The salad claims to have a chipotle caeser dressing, though it is not remotely spicy. Indeed, calling it dressing seems a stretch given how thin, watery, and generally devoid of flavor it was. The badly burnt soft croutons didn’t do the salad any favors either. And the use of cheap and flavorless iceberg over romaine lettuce in a caesar salad was stupefying. The one redeeming element of the dish was the the chicken-fried pork belly hunks. They were bursting with flavor and quite good. They should consider offering those as a standalone appetizer. Devoid of anything good, save perhaps for the bread it was served on, was the cuban reuben, which had«braised pork, citrus latin slaw, chipotle remoulade, and swiss cheese.» The pork itself was flavorless and definitely not tender enough. But the real enemy of the dish was the«citrus latin slaw,» which tasted like bitter orange peel and overwhelmed the other flavors. Perhaps because I tend to be selective about where I have sandwiches, and therefore haven’t had a particularly bad sandwich in a while, this proved to be by far the worst sandwich in recent memory.

Had the chicken bowl today — WOW, so good. Crispy chicken, fennel slaw, carrots, and sticky rice with a spicy dragon sauce. :-)

I think I found my new favorite breakfast/lunch spot. The service was fantastic & the food was amazing. For lunch I tried the Cuban Reuben. As I was getting this to go I noticed they also had homemade kimchi. Well I had to get a side of that. I use to date a girl whose mother was Korean and she made the best kimchi I ever tasted. Turns out this was just as good. My Ruben was also fantastic. I look forward to coming back and trying some more things on the menu. Put this on your hit list you will not be disappointed.

A perfect location for Ada/Lowell for carry out — this is not your usual carry out place — the food is first rate quality and the pricing reflects this. .Menu varies daily and they always encourage you to try something new and perhaps out of your every day comfort zone, Be adventurous it will be worthwhile. There is very limited seating and make sure you order whatever desert is offered when you visit — I have yet to find one that I did not like..

Great food, friendly service. Very unusual food combinations but delicious. Go early, seating fills up fast. Love the addition of outdoor tables

For a small casual place, they have some unordinary food. I had the pork cheek with radish tacos which were quite tasty and full of pork.

So good you’ll never want the meal to end, but then it will, far too quickly, like a hot February day or an episode of scandal. It ends quickly because the portion sizes are small. I always wish they had some sides. I can’t bring myself to order two items due to the price. The taste of the food is excellent though. I’ve had the bibimbap, Korean ribs and some noodles. All excellent, but so small. My ribs contained 4 oz of meat, ¼ cup of apple kimchi and about a cup of rice.

Oh, Saburba, how I love thee. I eat here. A lot. Breakfast on Saturday is always delicious(and so are the Saturday morning donuts!) They have some great sandwiches and tacos for lunch. And I always love the off-menu take-home dinner specials on Wednesdays. This is my go-to spot. The staff is great, food is creative, desserts are amazing.

Went for lunch for the first time. I had the shrimp Po boy. It had good flavor, the bread was fantastic, but light on the shrimp. They were out of 3 – 4 things I wanted to try so that was a bummer, The staff was friendly. It’s a nice lunch spot if you are looking for something different. I hope to go back for the veggie chili.

Got the classic Italian sandwich for lunch and it was excellent. Only problem was that I could’ve eaten four of them and it was $ 10. I will definitely go back for more, want to try the soups which seem to have good reviews. I’ll plan on spending $ 20 for lunch if I want to be full for the afternoon. Otherwise service was terrific and ingredients were outstanding; definitely a memorable sandwich.

I’ve been to Saburba twice, once to eat-in and once to carry-out. Knowing ahead of time their meager seating, I arrived early(about 11:30 am) placed a to-go order for lunch. The menu board was out of about 5 different lunch items, surprising as it was still very early in the lunch service. My order took about 10 – 15 minutes and I stood inside, trying to stay out of the way of other customers who were doing their best to avoid bumping into each other in Saburba’s tight quarters. Three different couples looked crestfallen as they discovered no seating, with the largest table taken up my two people and their bags/laptops(that table seats at least 4). Got my rice bowl home to find that it was lukewarm/room temp in the 7 minutes it took to drive to my house. Rather disappointing, especially for the price I paid. I love Saburba’s philosophy, but their execution is lacking. And what time do I have to get there to eat lunch on premises? 10:30 am?

I stopped in for take-out lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see Korean inspired dishes on the menu. The Bimibap was outstanding, fresh and made for an extremely satisfying lunch. The salads and sandwiches looked tempting too, I will definitely be back. It is obvious they care about quality ingredients.

This is one of my top 5 restaurants in West Michigan. Located in the middle of Ada, Saburba offers very interesting, fresh and delicious fare. First visit, Biminbop. What is it? It is amazing! Second visit, Cuban sandwich… perfect with the citrus slaw and succulent pulled pork. Third visit, Shanghai Chicken bowl… spicy bits of chicken on lo mein noodles with veggies and whole peanuts in a not too spicy sauce. I can not decide my favorite yet. I can’t wait to return and try some more enticing selections from their eclectic menu. Happy eating!

Awesome food catered for work multiple days in a row — my work loves this place! However, two days in a row I’ve found hair in different dishes of my food including entrees AND desserts :(a little disappointed in cleanliness …

So good! I convinced a picky co-worker to try this place instead of going to Subway. He liked it! We both tried the chicken noodle bowl. I loved it; it had just the right amount of heat and was very filling. The staff was very friendly and brought our food to us on the patio. They also recommended what turned out to be a delicious dessert. I think it was called«A Little of Everything»? Prices are a little more expensive but you are paying for top-of-the-line quality. I wish I lived here so I could come back!

Some friends wanted to go to Blimpies and I saw this place next door and had to try it. It looks new an fun and it was. The menu was very eclectic to say the least. They had American staples, along with some fufu tacos and ramen. I opted for the ramen and I was pleased. Its not often you get some good ramen in town. The broth was perfectly spicy and had plenty of fresh vegetables. It was very hot temperature wise, it took me a while before I could actually start eating it. The noodles were a little under done for my liking, but not bad. I would go back and see what other offering they had.

The reviewer who mentioned price vs. portion size is correct: if you are looking for an $ 8 feed your face experience or inspiring dine-in ambience this is not your place. If you are looking for very fresh, high-quality, delicious dishes for take-out or for eating in a slightly cramped but cute and cozy area this is for you. We love the homemade kimchee and pork-based dishes that you simply will not find within 10 miles or more. This could develop into a landmark eatery for Ada if the residents appreciate quality over quantity. Understand that this is inspired and creative cooking that you would expect from a chef who decided to do food that excites him. If Ada only wants cheap and big then we will lose a food-lover’s unique gem. The fact that Suburba inhabits a former Domino’s Pizza location gives me hope. A few more tables and tap beer and my standing Friday after-work plans are settled.

This place is a nice little added gem to the Ada lunch scene! The daily menu includes an eclectic yet tasty assortment of ramen, sammiches, soups, tacos and salads. I’ve only tried 2 sandwiches so far(the one with the shrimp and the italian sandwich, both über delicious!), but they were amazing and I cannot wait to try their other dishes. They also have prepared meals, sides & dips for sale(like kimchi, pasta or hummus), as well as an amazing assortment of fresh baked goods. I split a pumpkin whoopie pie with molasses filling with a friend that was to DIE for. Everything seems to be homemade, fresh and/or locally sourced, which is awesomesauce. They have fruit & herb infused water available for free to drink(such as rosemary and citrus), as well as a Saturday donut day that I wish was available on weekdays so I could bring donuts to work. The ONLY«negative» of the place is the lack of seating for larger groups, as there are only about 3 or 4 small tables that seat 2 – 4 each(more of a takeout place). On the flip side though, it’s a quaint little restaurant with a cool vibe and great food. All in all, I recommend this gem to everyone so please support this wonderful local restaurant!
