came in last nite for what seemed like throwback thursday based on the dj’s playlist… the vibe was cool and intimate since it wasnt a full house… so considering the capacity or lack of is puzzlin as why the service was slow. maybe inexperienced staff. now the food was da bomb… soujouk pie was unforgettable… super kabob mix was phenomenal. possibly at least the 2nd best lamb i ever had… tender juicy flavorful… the tabouli was a downer… lacked lemon flavor … overall pleasant and would revisit

Food is really good. The restaurant inside is very nice. The lamb chops were perfect, however… We have gone to this restaurant on two occasions in a row where they have had ‘events’. Tonight they had a party with a DJ and some VERYLOUD electronic music. The previous time they had an Indian party and were playing Indian music RIDICULOUSLY loud. Not what I’m looking for in a restaurant. Twice is enough. We will find another restaurant for Mediterranean food. Not a pleasant experience

Went here on a Saturday. Decent hookahs and strong drinks. Mostly indian/Arabic music playing. Dance floor was pretty full when we got there and started emptying around midnight

This was my first time coming here after their move and I’ve got to say it was a lot of fun. The drinks were flowing, the belly dancers hips were swaying and the music was a nice mix of middle eastern, Indian, Spanish and current music. It was fantastic. My only complaint was our table was literally on the dance floor which was nice because we were right in the mix but also kind of annoying because our view was obstructed being that close to the center of the party. The hookahs were pretty great and the servers stayed on top of making sure our coals were nice and not. The flavor of the tobacco was nice and subtle. I would love to come back for dinner and dancing, I’ve heard their food is delicious.

A great place to spend a weekend night with a bunch of friends. The food, music and ambiance are quintessential. A place to be tried for Indians who wanna dance for Bollywood numbers.

Love it! The belly dancing had me. Good drinks. Not much of a dance bar, but the hookah was nice.

Some good belly dancing show or a nice Hookah or some good Mediterranean food or even shaking that leg, you wish it and this place has it all. I’ve been here on many weekends and always found this place buzzing. Never a dull moment in here. What surprised me was it was equally crowded and buzzing on a Sunday night at 11:30PM too! Sunday nights are Latin music nights here, so if you wanna dance then better have some salsa training, if not, just come a bit early and learn it from some here who give free salsa lessons. Friday’s and Saturday’s have typical restaurant/club atmosphere with the music being regular Pop/Hip-hop, Arabic, Latin and Bollywood played in rotation for 15 – 20 min each. They will stop this and turn into full fledged arabic music around 10:30PM for the belly dancer to perform. I guess she does perform around 7PM too but haven’t been here that early to witness. The dance floor is small and gets pretty packed with people. If you don’t feel like dancing, you can just chill on the side which is the actual restaurant and has lots of seating. They have a decent variety of hookah to help you chill along with alcohol. No BYOB here unlike some of the Hookah lounges. The Food is great too. The Kebabs are good. I have had better kebabs but who cares when you have so much other entertaining things to go on along with this. We normally come here for dinner and then continue with the dance and hookah. the best part of the rotating music is that you can take a break and take a sip of your drinks/hookah when you feel tired or the music is not your type. Overall a great setup and amazing place to chill on the weekend which is not like your typical lounge/club with seats only for VIP, as this has your regular restaurant seating.

Amazing environment, their DJ has a very good taste of choosing and remixing songs, their foods are unbelievably delicious I have been there like 4 times already and loving it soooo much Staffs are so friendly. All in all it is a cosy place with middle eastern vibe

The food is actually better than what you’d expect for a place mainly known for atmosphere, hookah & dance. And dancing is their main attraction, some interesting belly dancers along with various random entertainment. The layout is kind of awkward but a fun place overall with a good mix of food, music & dancing.

As a restaurant, this place is expensive(~$ 20 for an entrée for one), food is average with smaller than normal portion sizes and service is sooo slow. I do not come here for the restaurant and highly recommend against it. There are belly dance performances on certain nights. Nothing crazy or amazing, just adds a unique atmosphere to what would otherwise be an ok(albeit overpriced) restaurant. Al-Amir gets points for atmosphere and décor. I’ve never smoked hookah, but a lot of people come here for that. Al-Amir turns into a Latin club at night. It’s fun and family-friendly. A lot of guests here are in their 30s and 40s. As for the bar, I feel like they really rape you there lol. You pay ~$ 10 a drink. Tl;dr: don’t come here for the restaurant unless you wanna pay for ok tasting overpriced food with extremely slow service. Come here for atmosphere and something to break the routine. I would pregame beforehand.

Nice place to chill with friends… They play all kinds of international party songs as well as middle eastern. For me it’s the best Hookah lounge in Dallas metroplex. Tried other places as well but this one’s mah favorite. This place has everything… from yummy Mediterranean food, belly dancing, nice flavored hookah, beverages, nice patio to open dance floor and great for parties and weekend hangouts.

Every time I come here I feel like I’m family! Great service, great music, great atmosphere, great hookah, great time! Theses guys go out of their way to make sure my experience here is top notch every time I’m in the building. Sorry for those who don’t feel the same. But I come here to have a good night and a good night is what I always have! Love this place!

Food amazing Service horrible Party of five sat down at 8 pm and we didn’t leave till after 10 pm. It took them almost 45 minutes to get us our food. Our waitress Redi was one of the slowest individuals I’ve ever seen, if it wasn’t for the two other services in our area nothing would have ever happened. The food was amazing though all of us loved it once we finally got it and cleaned our plates. Hopefully it was just a bad night and it will be corrected.

I’ve been here a time or 2 and have had a great time! We’ve only been on Friday/Saturday nights, they have a belly dancing show, which is awesome. Service was friendly and very attentive, even though the place was crowded. We didn’t try any food, I’ve never really had that kind of food, so I wasn’t sure what to order. but it did look delicious. The hookah, while pricey. was the best part. The served tended to it often and it was very flavorful and smooth. The vibe was awesome, I love the mix of music they play. The crowd seems very fun. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is like the lebanese version of Chaucers for asians. I came here for a surprise birthday event for Fia A. My only prior knowledge of Al-Amir was that you could hookah and eat food. We get there and the place is pretty huge. Bunch of thick eyebrow guys were dressed to impress to hopefully hit a homer that day. The food was okay in my opinion. We ordered the family feast which came with chicken, steak, and ground beef kebabs. The meats were overcooked and didn’t have great moisture. The rice doe was on point. Al-Amir is a good place to hang out. They have performers like belly dancers and sword dancing.

Get ready for dinner, drinks and a great show! It took us all by surprise when acrobats, fire girls, sword & belly dancers and hoola hoppers came out as our entertainment. It was pretty cool and because it was so unexpected, it was even better! This is a perfect place for any celebration. They make sure you’re taken care of, you get a birthday song, a shout out on the microphone, just good fun. Now, as far as food… we ate like Kings and Queens. Our appetizers were good. Meat pies with this spicy pepper sauce, but not TOO overwhelming. I could’ve eaten that alone, but we didn’t stop there. We got this Feast with chicken, steak and beef kabobs, HUGE plate, with rice, grilled tomatoes and onions, just A LOT of food. Later in the night, the place turns into a full on dance club. People everywhere, having a good time. Good, LOUD music and if you want a good drink, side note, ask for Sam the bartender. He’s the BEST!

When we first walked in for a birthday dinner, the smell of hookah was pretty strong. There is a non-smoking area, but my friend who is more sensitive to smoke got a headache. Although we were in seated in the non-smoking area, the table next to us was served hookah, so be prepared! It was a little weird walking in with it being totally empty at 6:30pm. The waiters dress as most waiters do, in black, but waitresses wore more interesting /skimpy clothing. I imagine this is what a strip club sort of feels like haha~ Most diners come in larger groups and filled the area near 8:30pm when the belly dancing starts each night, and the floor is open to dancing after the belly dancer(there was only one) finished~ This place was okay; every dish we got was pretty blahh, and nothing stood out~ falafel had the falafel taste, but kind of dry and not spiced enough. The shawarma meat was dry. The meat pies weren’t too special, although they were super cute: D too bad they don’t serve tzatziki or tahini sauce with meals. Buuuut the complimentary pita was delish when served soft and warm! We inhaled ten million pieces before our plates came out all at the same time. And then more after we picked at our meals ^^‘ I think most people come for the atmosphere, belly dancer, and hookah. If you’re in purely for the food, your hopes are going to be sadly dashed. Oh, if you let the staff know of the birthday girl, a belly dancer will pull them up to dance with them and they serve a dessert with a huge sparkling candle :) They did a fantastic job with making the birthday girl feel special(thanks Al Amir!) so I upped it to three stars. Nice to visit once, but I won’t be coming back again~
