Love this place! All the guys do great work. Ryan put up with us perfecting my sister’s tattoo for an hour and never complained. I’ve come here for tattoos and piercings and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I will definitely be back for my next addition.

I took an hour to perfect the drawing of my tattoo and Ryan was super cool about it. Most people would have been annoyed by us. He answered all of my mothers questions in full. He was great and did a great job on both the piercing and tattoo. 10⁄10 would definitely recommend.

It was 6 yrs ago that Josh made my long held fantasy of a nose piercing come true. I never had any problems with it and the studio was clean. I don’t buy nose jewelry often and I haven’t had good luck with the inexpensive, super thin gauged nose rings sold from kiosks at the mall. When I wear the thin gauged nose rings for an extended period, my nostril piercing begins to reject so I thought the best place to look for jewelry was where it all began, at Bob Shaw’s. While they didn’t have nose jewelry to my liking, most of what they had I guess you would say is «starter jewelry», the person that attempted to assist me was kind and pleasant and took the time to TRY and help me unlike several other studios in the area. Good manners and treating customers well goes a long way in my book.

Although the location is quite odd… I got my nose pierced here for only 35 $ which includes the stud. The place is clean and the workers are nice. Josh (sorry if I got the name wrong… I’m going by memory), the piercer, was present on a hot Sunday afternoon and he was very accommodating. The process was quick and fast and his work station is super clean. My piercing didn’t even turn purple or have redness after I got it. Great place! Maybe I’ll do my collarbone coverup here…

Ryan was AWESOME!!! I just got my nipples pierced and honestly, it didn’t hurt AT ALL! Ryan made the process so easy. He was very calm, cool, and super friendly. He made me feel super comfortable and it was quick. I would definitely recommend this place. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

Ryan marsh. Messed up my chest tattoo… I guess he didn’t care? Couldn’t get it straight to begin with, had to get a second opinion from another artist cause he couldn’t tell and told me it was when clearly it wasnt. We fixed the placement but after about a week with the tattoo I started to notice how messed up it still looked, twas not symmetrical like it should be. Im just irritated because of all places to mess this up. my chest? I don’t know if he was just having a bad night or just got a little too comfortable with not doing his best work on me cause I had been coming to him for a while. Who knows… it’s just not okay. I just won’t be getting tattooed by this man ever again.

Been to this shop multiple times. I have a tribute tattoo for my dad done by Bob (owner) and two smaller tattoos courtesy of Stephanie. Everyone here is exceptionally professional, the shop is clean, and I felt welcome each time I walked in. Both Bob and Stephanie are awesome artists and listen to clients ideas while adding in their own. I received my tattoo from Bob first, and over a year later when I made an appointment with Stephanie, he remembered doing the tattoo and came over to admire his work. I wouldn’t go to another shop. Both artists are top notch. Can’t say enough great things about these guys!

After looking at a different place, my wife found this one and liked the reviews so we went there. Right from the beginning we had a great vibe from the place and from the people. Both my wife and I got tattoos that evening. I was actually fortunate enough to get my tattoo by Bob Shaw himself. The man, the myth, the legend — he was awesome and the tattoo came out bada$$!!! Everyone who sees it has nothing but compliments to give. He even went so far as to touch up an old one I had at no charge just to help make the beginnings of my half-​sleeve look better! It was a great experience for both me and my wife and we will definitely be going back!

Bob himself was straight forward and accommodating, but the piercer and whoever answered the phone was rude. They had no selection of nose jewelry and don’t think to mention that before charging you and asking you to wait while they set up the jewelry they selected for you. Did get a full refund by Bob though. Left with a bad taste in my mouth from the rude staff.

I got a tattoo here back in November. I was in the area and saw positive reviews for this place and headed over. It was about 6pm on a Thursday night and there was no wait. I noticed a wide selection of jewelry too, would go back for a piercing! I brought in the exact tattoo I wanted, as it is a logo for my production company. The artist was very friendly and explained the cons of putting the tattoo on my heel, but still agreed to do it for me. Since it was so small he offered to touch up my other tattoos for no additional charge, which was a great gesture. The shop was clean and there was a great vibe between artists with hilarious conversation in the shop. Would definitely come back.

This place is the best! I came in on a Sunday and Ryan did a kick ass job on my arm that needed some work. Great atmosphere, even better staff… I’ll be coming here from now on. The shops in deep ellum just told me I needed laser work done and sent me on my way instead of offering a solution to my dark lines… but when I came here, Ryan had a plan and I couldn’t be happier with the result! If you are looking for a clean, professional and personable experience– this is the place to go!

I asked if there was such a thing as a gold tattoo. Something metallic and glittery like real gold, and he told me that such a thing is not yet available.
However, he took the time to give me some suggestions on how I could possibly achieve the look in some other ways, although they would not be as permanent as a real tattoo.
He was kind and pleasant on the phone and very easy talk to.

Ok think this may be my second review for here but what-​ev. Worth it.
First of all, Bob Shaw is the man. He’s done some piddle-​paddle tattoos on me, designed an excellent piece for me and I have basically submitted my now half blank canvas to anyone in the shop who has a free hand– they’re that good.
A note about tattoos to anyone whining about paying $ 300 for a tattoo. You get what you pay for. I paid $ 300 for a 2×2 black ink only tattoo a month ago and I’m not even mad. No one walks out of his shop going «oh gee my penguin looks like a bald eagle» or «they spelled my moms name wrong»… it just doesn’t happen. I think there is a sign somewhere in there that says «we do it right the first time» and thats the absolute truth.
This guy is a class act and an honest business man. Think of it as going to get a tattoo at your grandparents house (I hope bob doesn’t see this I think he just turned 40 and isn’t taking it well) — LOL

I came to Bobby to get my 1st tattoo in memory of my husband… he has done work previously for my husband (3 of his tattoos), my brother (lots) and my sister (2), so I knew when I decided to do it that I would not be disappointed!
He did a great job and it did not hurt like I thought it would. (got on inside of my wrist)
We even talked about all my brothers, husbands and sisters tattoos (he remembers his customers) while he did mine!
The price was reasonable and I knew from what he did for my husband that they had good prices compared to some of the location nearby.
If you want to get a tattoo in a super clean location and good people — go here! If I were ever going to get another one, I would not go anywhere else!

I got my third tattoo here after hearing about how excellent Bob Shaw is, and I will only get tattoos from him from now on! I told him that I wanted three Gerbera daisies on my forearm, and he sketched something up. I asked him to make a couple of adjustments, he happily redrew it, and it was exactly what I wanted. The tattooing went well — even though he had to stay until after close, Bob took the time to make sure every element of the tattoo was perfect. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire process, and my tattoo looks beautiful. I highly recommend Bob Shaw to anyone thinking about getting a tattoo, especially if you don’t want to deal with the big egos I’ve encountered at other tattoo shops.
