Blue point oysters were no good!!! But the service and lobster was really good. Very small restaurant but good atmosphere

I always knew that Dallas was known for their Steaks, but this place has the best Steak I’ve ever had. Other people in my party had fish. They also thought it was amazing. Best kept secret in Dallas! MG

Tried Lefty’s for the first time even though I have been in the area for years. I have heard many good things about this restaurant and it lives up to those expectations. The lobster bisque is the best I have had. Make sure you have them add claw meat to the bisque for extra lobster goodness. It was a nice portion and was not too watery like some others I have tried. I then ordered the shrimp scampi and it was delicious. It had jumbo shrimp and they were generous with the shrimp. The sauce was great and full of garlic and lemon. I will definitely be back.

POSITIVES: we had the crab cake for starters and it was excellent. For drinks I had the house red merlot and it was also good. We shared entrees to include the stuffed snapper which was delicious and the 2 main lobster which was as expected, delicious! Other people enjoyed the steak, and it was also very good. NEGATIVES: there should b at least $$$ for this place cuz it seemed very pricy. To put it into perspective, the crab cake cost $ 10 by itself. The wine glasses were rather small and only half way filled up. Again, expensive for the quantity. The ambiance it’s like a dive bar and very compact. In short, the food is delicious but expect to pay for it.

This restaurant that is in a strip mall is odd. First, because they still have smoking at the bar. I can’t remember when I have been to a place that people can smoke indoors. Second, the place is really outdated in a good way. It’s like you are in a time warp of sorts. You don’t mind it though. Lastly, the food is pretty tasty. We ordered the stuffed lobster and the sea bass special. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and the accompaniments were great. The mashed potatoes were a star because they were creamy but not heavy. The stuff lobster was much heavy but with a lot of lobster. So if you don’t mind a little smoke check the place out. It seems like many people that eat at this establishment are regulars.

How have I never reviewed this place? This is the Lobster headquarters in Dallas. Flown in fresh, tail curled, straight to the plate deliciousness. The place is named after the one armed lobsters they serve, culls, and there is no better deal in town. The interior boasts a casual, almost Italian restaurant meets Maine atmosphere, but the food is 5 star. This is a must try and a forever favorite for me. The pastas(see Italian!) are awesome as well! Actually, the steak is excellent too! Love this place.

Definitely some of the best seafood us New Orleanians have had in Dallas. The lobster and anything stuffed are musts. The atmosphere and service is very friendly and the clientele are obviously a lot of regulars. Even the wine is reasonably priced. Great experience overall!

Extremely tasty, unpretentious, laid back, friendly and fun. I dug the bluesy dive bar sort of atmosphere paired with their fantastic food. The two together reminded me of somewhere you might find in an out of the way corner of New Orleans. I highly recommend their ahi steak.

This place is small & very dark inside. I could barely read the Menu. I had a glass of wine with my meal and got the Key lime Pie to go, my bill was over $ 50 which was a bit steep for what I got in my opinion. The portion could have been better. I really enjoyed my dessert when I got back to my hotel though. I would definitely order that again. I am a sucker for bread, the Sourdough was pretty good. I had the Pan Fried Lobster and Shrimp with a Tarragon sauce. I got the sauce on the side. It was OK but did not blow my socks off. There was a lady at a table near the restrooms that laughed extremely loud throughout my dinner. She was very obnoxious and other diners were visibly bothered. The staff not once time approached their table to ask her to quiet down a bit. It was extremely rude & the place is just not large enough for it to not be a distraction. I would come back to try a different Entrée

Three words: Key lime pie. It’s seriously all you’ll need in your life. Lefty’s is located on the corner of a shopping strip in Addison. It’s a relatively busy hole-in-the-wall. I almost always see the owners at the bar, running food, or seating patrons. Service is great, although the tables are kinda packed in, creating relatively tight spaces to maneuver through. When you walk in, it’s a little stuffy & feels a little like a clusterf***, but you come in right onto the bar. They have pictures of customers proudly decorating the walls showing off their years of seafood and key lime pie services. There isn’t a hostess stand, but they seem pretty attentive on trying to seat you as soon as possible. It’s definitely not my favorite place to dine-in at, but the food makes up for it. I feel like the pricier the seafood, the more fresh it is. It also seems as if only the seafood should be consumed. I ordered the chicken breast with penne, and it’s quite bland. The clam chowder is to freaking die for. The fish is fresh and has great flavor, as well. Save some room for the dessert. It’s the only place you’ll ever want to have key lime pie from.

We used the online reservation maker Open Table for 5:30 dinner for three. Seated promptly when we arrived 5 minutes early. Casual to dressy place. Easy going atmosphere with lots of autographed photos on the walls. Food was really fresh and tasty! We had the Jumbo sea scallops special, Linguini with clams & mussels, and the 2 lb Lobster Dinner. Also highly recommend the Lobster Bisque, and the Maryland Crabcake was excellent! Barely fit in dessert, but we heard the key lime meringue pie was the best — and it sure is true! Our waiter, Brent, was very attentive. Our drinks were never below half glass. Dirty dishes removed from the table as we finished. Hope to go back again soon for lunch since my hubby works around the corner from Lefty’s. Easy to see why this is a Top 8 Best Seafood Restaurant in DFW!

My buddy who lives in Dallas raved about Lefty’s Lobster. He said, «I’ve been coming here since I was 18 years old!!» Everything I ordered he recommended. Besides their complimentary bread, my buddy requested to order a half & half Lobster Bisque and Clam Chowder Soup. It was sooo good. I’ve never had it that way before. For main entrée, I had Lefty’s 1lb Lobster for only $ 21. Yes, I know… price is so reasonable! It was delicious and came with their homemade garlic mash potatoes. I was told that Lefty’s Lobster is a THE place to dine in Dallas and rated as the TOPTEN to dine according to «The Best in DFW» along with its numerous accolades from renowned foodie sources! Service here was excellent and very attentive! I highly recommend if you are ever in Dallas or you are a local in the area, Lefty’s Lobster is not to be missed! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

This place is small. I was with a party of 24 for a birthday party. We waited for about a hour are more. Then once we were seated we waited another 45min are so before they took our orders. After the order was taken we had to wait about 30 min for the food. By the time our food came out I was ready to go long before that. The food is good I ordered a Lefty’s Pasta and I drank a apple martini was was good. I did get a chance to take a bite of the steak that one of my friends ordered with the lobster. I must say the steak was very good.

I had never heard of this place before, but after such a delicious meal, I can only pray that I will be enjoying their food sometime in the future. Made to look like a friendly, out in the boonies kind of joint, like something you would find in rural Louisiana, the staff and ambiance are both warm and welcoming. I had the scallops, which was a $ 15 lunch special(not too bad price wise) and boy were they succulent. They were covered in butter and cooked to perfection. They were tender but weren’t undercooked. I love good scallops and there were 4 of these bad boys! It came with a great side veggies and white rice, which was just filler for me. Truly a great seafood place tucked away from the street view. I was impressed and we be returning when I can. ~Carpe Diem~

What otherwise would have been a decent meal, was completely ruined ½ way through when someone lit up a cigarette at the bar. The smoke wafting across our table and into my face killed it. The lobster bisque was rich and tasty. The stuffed lobster, however, tasted reheated and not very fresh. Nasty smoke destroyed whatever flavor was left. We won’t return. Period.

I absolutely love lefty’s. When i am in Dallas visiting my parents and we want seafood we all come here! Its such a cute little place! I have only tried their stuffed shrimp and their stuffed lobster my self but they both are very delicious. They make this excellent seafood stuffing out of ritz crackers and of course shrimp and crab. it is so good and so much better and different than most other places. My son loves their lobster bisque. This time he ordered their Lefty’s pasta its a cajun style pasta with jumbo shrimp, sausage and crawfish in a creamy spicey cajun sauce. He said it was really good. My mom has to have their greek salad before her dinner. They also have steak, fish and chicken dishes in case you dont want seafood. I also would really like to mention how awesome we are treated when we are here. They do know my parents because they come in alot, but i can remember when we all first started going and they have been excellent from the beginning! Ok i almost forgot to mention they have the BESTCOCONUTCREAMPIE I HAVEEVERHAD!!!

We never ate here so caveat that this review was just based on first impressions. Looking for seafood places and seeing Unilocal reviews, we checked it out Saturday evening. Upon entry, you get hit with a wall of smoke… the smoking section is right next to the entrance(near the bar). The restaurant is poorly ventilated so no matter where you sit, you get that nice smoke wafting towards your table. We left after we realized that we couldn’t escape the smoke. Wish I could have tried their food and spent my $ with them but alas they decided for me.

I decided to try this place out on a Saturday night, after reading great review for the chowder. I wanted something new for dinner, and was thinking about just getting a soup. The location sort of surprised me, as that it was in what appeared to be a strip mall– but appearance has never stopped me before. When we came in, I was confused with the atmosphere, it seemed really loud for a «finer dining experience» but I didn’t let that deter me. I was hoping it would be a little quieter, but we ended up having to yell over the table The menus themselves were odd– covered in children’s illustrations, which didn’t really go with the candle-lit tables. The bread and butter before the meal was mediocre, which is fine. The wine list was short and relatively limited. My boyfriend ordered the chowder, and I could see what everyone was raving about. It was very hearty, rich, and buttery as chowders should be, and left us pleasantly surprised. A strong 5⁄5 way to start the meal. I got the stuffed lobster which was great, a nice blend of breading of large chunks of lobster, I would say a 4⁄5 My boyfriend got the stuffed bass, which was mediocre, it came out a little dry and had too much breading 2⁄5. Both the meals came with sides– a baked potato with the fixings on the side, and a side of corn. Nothing wrong with them, they just weren’t anything to rave about 3⁄5 The waitstaff was friendly, almost overly so, I got the impression of «small –town-diner-esque.» It wasn’t a bad thing, I just didn’t seem to fit in with a candle-lit dining experience, and $ 20+ plates. Our waitress was prompt, and had great suggestions. For a $ 100 meal for two, I probably would not place Lefty’s high on my list. Nothing was really bad. It just wasn’t memorable, enough to justify going back when there are other great restaurants in Dallas. I will probably go back for the chowder and drinks.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but wait until you get inside… A local colleague and I were looking to have a project closeout meeting, and he suggested Lefty’s. Notwithstanding it starting to get late, I found Opentable availability, and jumped on it. I was a bit leery at the strip mall and gaudy exterior, but felt transported to New England the moment I walked through the door. Maine, really… white wood railings around the dining area, and a friendly and lively bar right at the entrance. We were seated in Brendan’s section, and he was quick to appear and get us started. I was curious about their dark rums, and he ended up offering a taste of their Zaya, which had me immediately hooked. I went with a sensational lobster bisque(plus additional claw meat chunks) and a daily-special sea bass which was extraordinary. My colleague was nice enough to offer a piece of an exceptional crab cake starter, and while I didn’t try any of the twin main lobsters, they looked perfect. I wasn’t fully sold on seafood in Addison before coming here, and now regret that I couldn’t come back as I was leaving the next day. This place is now bookmarked for me to go back to, and if you live in the area, you should definitely make it a frequent stop.
