$ 4 for a cheeseburger? That’s a little much The patty was a nice size and it was good just to see the hype of the oldest burger stand in Dallas but would I do it again? NAW I’ll just go to Five Guys.

I got a regular burger and fries on my visit. I read a lot of good reviews on this place especially their fries. My gripe with them is everything tasted like it was seasoned with chili powder. If I wanted a chili burger I’d order one. Same with the fries. If you want a chili burger without the mess of chili, this place would be great. If you want a burger, a normal everyday burger, this is not the place. I really can’t see why they have such great reviews.

Nice people. Have visited Burger House several times over the years. Their food is ok. The chicken sandwich is actually quite good and they give you a heaping portion of fries. While the seasoning is really tasty, they over season their fries and burgers and it ends up being too salty. Inside dining is greasy and in need of cleaning and remodeling.

A great favorite of mine. I am a big burger snob, but I can and do differentiate between a gourmet burger from a sit down restaurant and a good fast-food burger. I’d say Burger House is my #2 best fast-food burger place, behind the almighty Whataburger :). I usually order a double cheeseburger with no tomato. The meat is seasoned very well, the meat can stand on its own, which is a big piece of criteria I use for gauging a good burger. One thing that is odd about the burgers is that while most places put the meat & cheese on the bottom bun, with veggies and toppings on top, this burger is reversed, with veggies on bottom and meat on top. Not sure I can dock any points for that though, as the burger was well-assembled and the order of assembly didn’t seem to affect the taste. I’m not sure why, but the pickles seem extra special here. They are extra tangy and are a big component of the burger’s flavor profile, but without overwhelming the whole burger. Overall, a very good burger that I enjoy. Another huge plus for Burger House is their fries. They season it with a proprietary mix, not 100% sure what’s in it but I can detect salt, pepper, & onion powder. They season their fries(which are thin shoestring style) liberally, and the fries themselves are crisp and flavorful. Take it from a burger snob: definitely a good place to try for a great fast-food burger & awesome fries.

I love a good burger. I’ve had some from a variety of places. Every time I go grocery shopping at my local Tom Thumb(Marsh & Spring Valley) I pass this place so I decided to stop in and check it out. The first thing that caught me off guard is that for a little burger shack they sure are proud of their burgers, price wise. I ordered the double cheeseburger and an order of chili cheese fries. Total bill came out to just over 12 bucks. Although the fries were a decent size I was expecting more out of an almost $ 7 burger. It literally looked like a McD’s burger & personally for a little more you can get a gourmet burger at Hopdoddy’s. The chili cheese fries were good but a bit on the greasy side. Overall I probably will never go back and am a little surprised at how they have stayed in business since the 50’s(advertised on their sign).

I ate here ten years ago. Didn’t like the seasoning at all. I returned last week to give it another shot. Had the burger and fries. Again with the seasoning! Was it curry? I couldn’t finish the fries or burger. I will never go back.

WTF just happened.? I know I gave them $ 8.00 and some change, but I don’t feel like I got a good return on my money. I’ve had school cafeteria burgers that were better than this. The«meat» was super thin. I’d like a little fries with my sodium.(Where’s my blood pressure medicine). And a little soda with my ice would be nice too. When your instincts tell you to bypass a restaurant for 7 years, follow it. First and last time.

Chili cheese fries were amazing!!! Cheeseburgers had a different seasoning in them like cumin or coriander, was over powering, didn’t finish my burger. Hot dogs are all beef, corny dog was good a little over cooked. Glad we tried this place, would not go out of my way to eat here,

I would just like to start this off by saying grease. Everything is grease. I think they offer a salad, but I’d stay away from that. I only do the drive thru, so I’m afraid and unaware of the dirt/cleanliness in the dining area. It’s an old fashioned place, and the drive thru can be hard to access if you miss the turn. Also be prepared to wait because they make your food after you’ve ordered. Which is great minus the fact that my corn dog burned through the styrofoam packaging and bag. It doesn’t seem safe to serve food that piping hot, and without a warning. Hmm… I don’t think the seasoning everyone’s talking about is bad itself, I think it’s the fact that they use wayyyy too much of it. Like to the point of sides being inedible. If I ever go back it will just be to try a shake. But from the drive thru window you can see into the kitchen area(I think? Def saw someone cooking back there) and it doesn’t look too organized/sanitary so take that as you will.

Have been meaning to try this place out for some time now and found ourselves in the area right at lunch time. I went through the drive through since our little one was with and thought it would be best just to go home and eat. I was also excited to try the Burger House as it looked to be privately owned and not a chain restaurant.(Better food comes from privately owned restaurants in my opinion) I ordered a double cheeseburger with everything and questioned if it would indeed include onion as that is the most important add on to me on a burger. There are no combo meals so everything I ordered was ala carte. Let’s start with the smell… driving home my car started to smell like sweaty socks. Come to find out they use this seasoning on their fries that is a mixture of spices and such… terrible. They do cut their own fries which is great, but the seasoning killed it for me… and the same for my car and my house.(I couldn’t get the garbage out of the house quick enough) Next, I was expecting a burger that I could hardly hold let alone get my mouth wrapped around since it was a double… boy was I sadly mistaken! The patties were paper thin and the only thing I asked for to be on my burger was onion… and I got NONE. Big disappointment. My daughter, who is a pre-k, french fry connoisseur said they were gross and ate only a few. We tried some ketchup with the fries to mask the over seasoned, salty mess, but that did not work either. The very thin double burger was just ok… as I’ve been told; a person will eat just about anything when they are hungry. :/ To sum it up, it was an overpriced disappointment. And please do not get me wrong… I have no problem paying for great food, but this just did now warrant what they charge… Overpriced to the tune of $ 17 and some change for a double cheeseburger, regular fry, large coke and a kids meal. Oh well, lesson learned. At least I saved my burger loving husband a visit to this joint.

This place was average. The service was very friendly. They have regular customers that the staff new by name. I order a double cheeseburger and fries. It was cooked just fine. Fries are fresh and served with season salt. It’s okay but I would ask for no salt next time. The place itself is outdated compared to other burger joints. If it was closer I would probably visit more often. It’s not worth a drive from Mckinney.

A sign says since 1951. If it is the same way you make the burger from 1951 and never made a change all these years, time for a change. Come with some innovative way to make the burger more tasteful. Thin tasteless patties and bad buns are a thing in the past. I know Burger House burger may have been a hit in the past, like in the 50s or in the 60s, but Whataburger makes a lots better burger now a days. I just can’t grasp what the appeal is, people have recommended this place to me, but I suspect it’s an under the radar burger because you wouldn’t expect it to be good, it maybe a nostalgic experience for some old folks. It’s one of those odd burgers that is all grease but no juice, and keep dreaming this burger had any flavor or seasoning to speak of. A quick, cheap fix? Sure, but if you hold your burgers to even a slightly higher standard, you can get the same results at your neighborhood Whataburger and Wendys. And if that’s not enough to sway you from visiting, I don’t know what will. Maybe it’s just me, not you I like the new generation burger.

Awoke this morning with a rare craving for a burger. When this infrequent urge occurs, my usual trip will be to Whataburger, my favorite and only fast food spot for this treat. However, on this rainy day I decided to stay closer to home and drive 5 minutes down the street to BH. First time ever ventured here. Called in an order to go for a burger with all the fixings, extra mustard and grilled onions. Thought this would be faster as it was the busy noon hour. Wrong :(The drive through was 5 cars deep when I arrived. As all orders are prepared fresh, this is not your speedy pay, go to the next window and pick up, i.e. McD’s. I was in line almost 15 minutes waiting for my probably already prepared food. The burger was okay; sloppy and messy like I like, not great, no Wow factor but It satisfied my taste buds. However, the onions were not grilled as I had requested. The onion rings were a big fail; left in the fryer too long, they weren’t light and crispy, but overcooked and hard,(had to cut them with a knife), bland with no flavor. Ate 3 of them and tossed the rest. For a total of $ 5.82, I can’t complain about the price except for the OR’s, but doubt that I’ll return. After all, it was just one meal out of an entire lifetime. I’ll just make the slightly longer drive for an always reliable, consistently delicious Whataburger.

Burgers are nothing special but customer service is great. I’m not a big fan of the fries either. With the garlic salt, iodized table salt, and amount they pour on it makes the fries too salty.

Great standard burger. We actually came in on Heli’s review! What we should’ve had was the TX Bacon Hamburdog and Double Cheese burger. We actually had the Bacon Cheese burger(always judged by the classic) and a chili cheese dog. It wasn’t until afterwards I learned about Hamburdog upgrades! The burger was squished thin, and packed with flavor! The chili on the dog was excellent! The seasoned salt on the fries was $MONEY$! As the other reviews say… if you want exotic elk or venison, or vegetarian… you’re in the wrong place… this is just good ol’ fashioned greasy goodness! You won’t do your heart any favors here… but your taste buds will certainly thank you! 4STARS!

Sometimes my inner big girl, Lisa, gets the best of me and I have to eat a burger. And when this happens not just any burger will do. She usually wants the juiciest, greasiest sloppiest combination that she can wrap her little thick fingers around. When the urge got me I was in Addison, and was pleasantly surprised to see a cute little burger joint that I had never experienced before just down the street. I went though their drive-thru and the service was solid in the beginning. A man greeted me and even told me what their most popular items were upon my request. I decided to go traditional and check out the cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. I really appreciate that their food is made fresh to order. It’s apparent from the very first bite. The patty was a bit too salty for my taste and the amount of tangy mustard overpowered the entire flavor. Overall this is a cute place and according to the sign, it’s been around since 1951 so they’ve got to be doing something right. I’ll be back sooner or later but likely I’ll be trying something else of their menu.
